Had a wonderful Mothers Day dinner here. Staff were amazing and very attentive. Food was plentiful, delicious and fantastic value. The little touches make this restaurant stand out from the crowd.

**Avoid** unless you like being insulted. I went here last night for my sisters birthday meetup. There were a few of us hoping to get Tapas, cakes etc. We all arrived separately as it was post work. We were then informed that the kitchen was closed. Disappointed but we were grand with cake. Cake was not the best and four of the girls left theirs behind. Then, when chatting two of the girls told us they had been early, had gone again and came back. The manager had insulted then when they came back in. Even locking them out for a bit. I kid you not. I do not think he was in the best frame of mind. I think this may have been the reason the kitchen was closed. Some of the other girls saw him acting out of character for a proprietor of a café. We decided to leave then. We paid up and left though we were just outside the door as we were deciding where to go next. The manager then came out to bring in the potted plants and insulted us again. Tbh, at this stage, as we had left, we were finding him more funny than insulting and I think he picked up on this because he became very aggressive and started to yell at us. At one point while insulting us he proceeded to drop his potted plant which smashed on the street. He was way too far gone to lift it properly anyway. We left utterly disgusted. To be fair the other staff members were very nice and apologetic. What was going on with the manager/owner guy is a mystery. I will never darken their door again.

The Chop House Gastro Pub
2 Shelbourne Road, City Centre South, Dublin

Went here on Sunday when they were very busy (Tall Ships weekend). We were initially told there was no room (there really wasn't) and they were booked out but when the manager (lovely fellow) saw that we were just two he said he could set us up at the bar if that was alright. It was. Food was lovely. Staff a bit busy but very attentive. Slightly pricey but worth it for quality of food. Will definitely go back.

Mitsuba Japanese Restaurant
154 Parnell Street, City Centre North, Dublin

Went here last night for an impromptu dinner. Seated straight away though we had no booking. Place is small but nicely decorated. Food was really fresh and service was great. Delicious. Cannot fault the place. My new fav.

TGI Friday (St Stephens Green )
St Stephens Green, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Went here for a work Christmas party and I have to say it was the worst dining experience I have ever had in Dublin. We were literally squashed into our table with everyone on top of one another. The cocktails were absolutely awful - I had a mojito which I simply couldn't drink. Mouthfuls of sugar do not a cocktail make. The food was then the icing on the cake. Steak was very tough and totally overcooked. One of my veg was not properly cook and the other was overcooked. I could also count the chips on my plate - and everyone else's. Worst dinner I've ever been served. I was only there as it was a work event but left shocked that this standard of food was being served in Dublin. Absolutely awful. Avoid.
