Visited the Spire recently for a family occasion. I haven't been to The Spire for a while and I was looking forward to the outing. I wasn't disappointed. Everything was as it should be.... very fresh food and high quality meats cooked beautifully and very well presented. The staff were very attentive and friendly too. A very enjoyable evening with a lovely atmosphere which is rewarding for the efforts put in to going out. I will be returning sooner rather than later!

The Spire Restaurant
Church Lane, Duleek, Duleek, Meath

We visited The Spire restaurant on a Saturday evening and we had a choice of two menus (one early bird) There is free parking on laneway leading to restaurant. It also has an upstairs which would have been the gallery when used as a church so very unique setting. We were greeted with a friendly smile and shown to our table. I have special dietary needs and I was helped make my selection from the menu. There are gluten free options, but advise on booking. I had artisan olives, chorizo and spiced almonds & it was an unusual mix of flavours and textures that made a great combo. My husband had sourdough bread with tomato/chilli oil & our starters of Chicken Rillettes were so good that there was no conversation between us while eating, only nod's of approval. The house white was very drinkable also. The mains choices ranged from pasta dishes to fish, chicken, lamb etc and steaks which is what we had chosen and were cooked to perfection. The desserts I remember were Banoffi spring roll and Sticky toffee pudding. The chef's vast experience of Artisan foods/ pastries is printed on the menu and food is sourced locally. I noticed the kids 'hidden veg' meals available too. Overall the food combo and great flavours were a pleasure for the tastebuds and money well spent. The staff all very friendly and our waitress was very attentive. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and will definitely return. Arrive Hungry!

La Pizzeria
38 Peter Street, Drogheda, Louth

I took my husband for a birthday dinner in La Pizzeria as it is his favourite restaurant. Garlic bread to start which is georgeous and made freshly with the pizzas in view.Hubby always has the steak and always savours every mouthful and describes it as the best steak ever. House wine very good, service very good atmosphere relaxed but always busy. Consistently great food which is good to know your evening will be enjoyed and money well spent. The decor has not changed from boom to bust times but the food is what its all about. The menu is basic italian with pasta dishes, pizza. some chicken dishes and steaks. Not a huge dessert range unless you like tiramisu but that is lovely. I had a chicken dish in mushroom sauce with fries and it was delicious. As they say 'if its not broke don't fix it' and that's it with The Pizzeria as I said it's consistently good so you will always know what to expect. Located in the centre of town.

Colosseo (Louth)
Main Street, Duleek, Louth City, Louth

we were seated straight away by a very friendly female member of staff. given just enough time to ponder menu and any questions we had about the menu the young lady could easily answer and explain. The food was fresh, well cooked and very tasty and of course very italian. The cost was average. Free Parking available on the streets of the village. The atmosphere was very relaxing but the lighting was a little too dark and the music could of been of blended into the background a little more. Overall these are easily remedied and it was a very enjoyable night with very good food. AND MOST IMPORTANT bring cash as there are no card facilities.
