We stopped off at the Locke for a bit to eat after work, We were keen to see what food was like as a few of our friends had tried out the Gastro pub menu and loved it. I had the fish and chips and my husband had a steak and we were very happy with our selection. The bar was busy for a wednesday night and as we were leaving the band were getting started, we would have liked to stay on but had the kids with us, but will definately go back on a weekend night. Well worth a visit and the lunch menu looks great too.

Russells Select Bar
Fr. Russell Road, Dooradoyle, Limerick

eat lunch here on a regular basis, food very good - portions tend to be large so I know they offer half portions. Staff friends and helpful, have introduced a loyality card to receive a free meal after you purchase 6 main courses. worth a visit, they also do evening meals which are also very good. Only draw back is parking, it can be very busy at lunch time and also it is quite dark in the bar with limited day light.

Cafe Noir - O'Connell Street
84 O'Connell Street, Limerick City, Limerick

Had lunch in the new restaurant and I was very impressed. i went for the fish pie and salad and it was very good. Surroundings very nice and great to see such landmark buildings in use again in the city centre. Staff were excellent and very friends and very familar with the menu. Will be back when next looking for a venue for lunch in the city!

The Salt House Bar & Restaurant - CLOSED
8 - 9 Georges Quay, Limerick City, Limerick

Had a pleasant evening at the salt house, the menu was a bit limited on the main courses. Some dishes offered great value but other I thought were expensive, especially when you had to pay extra for side orders. Staff very good and friends. Our bill was almost €60 for 2 main courses / 2 sides/ 1 dessert/2 coffee and one glass of wine which I thought was a bit expensive
