Restaurant Reviews from chunkybutt
Brooks Hotel 59-62 Drury Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin, Area Code: Dublin 2
Reviewed 24th August 2010 ( visited 23rd August 2010 )What a find! Absolutely loved it. A delicious meal was had by all. Six of us ate here on a quiet Monday evening. Friends were staying in the Hotel so we decided to give it a go. I wonder if the rest of Dublin knows this place exists? It's all about the food and it's perfect. I was expecting to pay a little extra for the privilege but far from it, it really was great value. I couldn't recommend this place enough. I will certainly be back.

Merry Ploughboy Pub
Edmondstown Road, Rockbrook, Rathfarnham, Dublin
Very pleasantly surprised, I expected bar food but this was far from it. Excellent food of a very high standard.I had a delicious chorizo and black pudding to start and the Traditional fish and chips for main. Great food and lots of it!! Really nice cosy pub atmosphere to it. Highly recommended.
7 Ballsbridge Terrace, Dublin, Ballsbridge, Dublin
We ate in the Cafe, which still feels, looks and tastes like a restaurant, just a slightly different menu. Great buzz to it, Rolys has a great name so expectations are always going to be high, and they were exceeded. Food was delicious, all courses were excellent and it cost €180 for six people! Highly recommended. Enjoy!
Church Road, Greystones, Wicklow
Loved it! 6 out of 5 ...great menu, original and simple and great value. I had the brioche to start and steak for mains. Steak with pepper sauce and homemade chips was delicious- only € 22 ...excellent value. Defo going back.
The Square, Enniskerry, Enniskerry, Wicklow
Popped in for a bite after a hike up around Crone woods. The place was packed which is always a good sign!...staff were very helpful despite the mayhem. It's all fresh healthy food...pretty much!...even the desserts kind of look healthy! I had the homity pie...VERY good. There really should be a lot more places like this offering good value healthy food.
Harrys Cafe Bar
21 Upper George's Street, Dun Laoghaire, Dublin
Popped in for Breakfast on Saturday Morning...I went for the Rosti and poached eggs. It was good , in fact it was very good. Harrys' has a nice atmosphere to it and the staff are casual, friendly and efficient. My only gripe is the price. I guess you get what you pay for but with tea it came in at 11.50 ...a little pricey for breakfast in my book. In fairness though their dinner menu looked like good value so I might pop back and try that seeing as the food was so good.
Synnott's Bistro @ The Parkview Hotel
Main Street, Newtown Mount Kennedy, Newtownmountkennedy, Wicklow
I can easily highly recommend The Parkview. We went for Sunday lunch in the Bistro. I'm sure we could have eaten in the bar also which was buzzing and looked classy and comfortable. I could not fault it from the word go. The bistro is spotless with a lovely relaxed atmosphere, service was friendly relaxed and attentive. Food was delicious. I had salad to start, pork chop for main and the highlight was the apple crumble for dessert! All excellent, simple and tasty. And so it comes to the bill. €46 ...for TWO 3 course meals and tea and coffee! Great great value. Defo worth the detour off the N11. I'll be back.
7 St. Andrew's Street, City Centre South, Dublin

34-35 South William Street, South William Street, Dublin
6 Euro for a Tikka Masala from the Lunch Menu ...bargain! I popped in for a quick lunch and that's exactly what I got with some Naan bread thrown in for good measure, and all for under a tenner! Happy days.
No 1 Fade Street, Off Georges's Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin
4 of us ate here last night. Nice relaxed cool cafe type atmosphere to the place. Great buzz to it with music on in the background. We skipped starters and went straight for mains. I had the steak , which was cooked to perfection, juicy and tasty! This came with chips which everyone else ate on me! Next time I shall order chips for the rest of the table so I can have mine all to myself!..they are VERY good! Everyone else was happy with their mains with everyone having something different. Surprisingly for me I had no room for dessert but the others enjoyed cheesecake and a fruit tartlet. Service was very friendly and efficient and the bill didn't break the bank either. I'll defo be back to try out everything else on the menu!
Sheries Cafe Bar
3 Lower Abbey Street, City Centre North, Dublin
Popped into Sheries before a gig in the 02. It's right beside the Luas so its' handy enough. I had the club sambo and chips and my sister had a chicken and bacon burger which wasn't exactly on the menu but they had no problem accommodating her. Safe to say we devoured it! Good tasty food and we were well looked after by the staff. It cost us less than 15 euro inc tip so happy days!
46-47 Castle Street, South Co. Dublin , Dalkey, Dublin
Popped in here on Sunday evening for a quick bite. Nice atmosphere in the place , we were well looked after by attentive and efficient staff. I had meatballs to start...delicious! Really good in a very tasty spicy sauce. For mains I had a vege pizza which was typical tasty Italian fare , nice thin crispy base. Suprisingly for me there was no room for dessert! Bill for 2 came to 47.50. All good. Dalkey has a great choice of places to eat out but I'll happily return to Benitos.
Gastro Pub Food @ Glen of the Downs Golf Club
Glen of the Downs Golf Club, Coolnaskeagh, Delgany, Wicklow
I often go here with my parents. Nice relaxed atmosphere, amazing views of the sugar loaf ! Staff are always very friendly and efficient. And the food is good! Good value, good choice...it's consistent and reliable , I just hope not too many people find out about it!
Adam's Bar & Restaurant
Main Street, Dingle, Kerry
Great fresh food, nice atmosphere, bit short on space but gives it that cosy feel! I know the locals eat here so it's got to be good! Chowder is great and there's a lot of good chowder in Dingle but this place holds their own. It's all good.
The Spinnaker Bar and Restaurant (Waterford)
Lower Village, Dunmore East, Waterford City, Waterford City, Waterford
Possibly the best Chowder I've ever had! Delicious! Almost a meal in itself...I said almost!...with a side of chunky homemade chips ... and top it all off with homemade banoffi pie!! Well happy - and full! Not giving the food away by any means but you certainly get what you pay for. Excellent! I'll be back.
The Arches Cafe
At The Supervalu Centre, Wentworth Place, Wicklow Town, Wicklow
This is the cafe beside Supervalu in Wicklow Town...I went in on a Saturday morning for a fry up. Great feed, good portions ! and lots o tea and toast! Staff we attentive and on the ball even though they were busy. I can't remember how much it was so it can' t have been expensive! Like Arnie says.."i'll be back"
