Atmosphere on a Saturday night is great with live Spanish style guitar music played by musician regularly. Place was very busy ( and quite loud) and you definitely need to book well in advance. Great selection of tapas but we ate from the a la carte menu. The fisherman style soup was delicious, loads in it. Husband had the chicken wings and he enjoyed them but would have liked more! For main I had the paella Valenciana, loved it, hubby went for the Pollo Lanzarote which he thought was only ok . If your going to a restaurant like this I think you are mad if you dont try the authentic spanish /argentinean fare. Ate here before and tried some of the tapas but thought they were bit expensive for the portion size. Staff are very friendly and I would recommend this restaurant for lovely night out if a little on expensive side .

On first impressions of exterior of restaurant you would be forgiven for doubting your choice, also the interior is a bit shabby but apart from all this there is a lovely atmosphere if the place is busy . This place is so popular due to its fab food and outstanding value i.e. €35 2 starters 2 mains and a bottle of wine for two !! that you would need to book on weekends . Staff are friendly and nice homely atmosphere. Portions great too. Great for casual nite out but if your looking for somewhere romantic or special then you may be disappointed. Definitely worth a visit .

The Alamo Restaurant@ The Riverside Park Hotel
The Promenade, Enniscorthy, Wexford

Restaurant was quite busy for a Monday night I expect at lot of people on holidays . The decor has changed since I last visited here and unfortunately ,although fresh and almost french in style I preferred the more authentic Mexican feel of old. Apart from that the menu looks pretty much the same with a huge selection to choose from, very hard to make a choice with such tempting options on offer! Well from previous experience I knew that if I had a starter I wouldn't be able for the main and was I right ! Daughter had the nachos with beef and it was very generous indeed. Hubby had the mushrooms , again loads and very tasty both of them as I couldn't resist picking at them! For mains I had the tagliatelle with salmon , very tasty. Hubby had the Ranch burger , he enjoyed that. The daughter had the fajita Magdelena and all of these orders came with sides too of chips wedges rice or salad . We were stuffed , so much so, that we couldn't finish it all and I brought what I could home with me ! The wine list too is extensive and the staff were very polite and friendly. Definitely will return but on a very empty stomach!

Browns Barn Bar and Kitchen
Citywest Exit, Citywest Bridge N7, West Dublin, Saggart, Dublin

Unfortunately this is not a restaurant for intimate dining, very open and more like a diner. We were given a table near the entrance hall so that wasn't a great start. . There was a draught constantly as people left the glass doors that led out to smoking area open and not only that but there were kids running up and down every few minutes. Good selection on the menu except the chowder wasn't available, so I went for the pate, this was a generous starter and quite nice. The button garlic mushrooms were only ok, not enough garlic sauce. The sirloin of beef on the stone was tough and the mushrooms onions and chips were very greasy . I had the salmon on pea barley risotto with extra veg . My salmon was practically raw and rather than send it back, which is what I should have done , but I just wanted to get the dinner over with as the atmosphere of the place was not enjoyable, I finished cooking the salmon on the hot stone ! Perfect! The risotto was mostly barley but tasted ok. The side veg was generous and cooked fine apart from the broccoli which was practically raw! We didn't have dessert so no comment there but the coffee was good. Disappointed overall , definitely a more casual dining venue . I will say that the staff were friendly and polite.

Miss Wong
Ralph Square, Leixlip, Kildare

Unfortunately the restaurant was practically empty on a Saturday night which is not the first time I have noticed this. This atmosphere therefore was disappointing. The staff are lovely and very attentive. The menu is very extensive and good value . I was here few years ago and the place was buzzing but definitely not the case now . The food was good but for me atmosphere is as important and for that reason I would recommend for casual evening/night only.

TRAX Brasserie
Friary Road, Naas, Kildare

This was my third visit with hubby to this restaurant and as expected , we loved it. It was a Saturday night so it was v busy and we were seated in a little separate area overlooking the dining area where we had a drink. We weren't waiting long and were soon shown to our seats by very friendly staff. The menu has something for everyone and the steaks, in particular the fillet which I had, was fab, nicest I've ever had. As I don't eat chips there was no prob swapping for the most gorgeous mashed potato served in a little pot with butter and chopped scallions I think ,maybe chives. I asked for extra veg and they were cooked beautifully . The pricing is great as you are charged a set rate for either two or three courses and there is also an early bird menu . The quality of the food is top notch. As the restaurant is a converted old cut stone railway building , the atmosphere is very open which is great when restaurant is busy but could be bit cold otherwise. Would recommend this restaurant for any occasion except maybe a very cozy romantic one if your looking for soft lighting and background music! Will be returning again soon.

Lock 13 Bar & Restaurant
Canal View, Sallins, Kildare

Used to be called Boss Byrnes . Good place for reasonably priced food and good selection on offer. I had a very nice prawn pasta dish very good portion however hubby wasnt impressed with his BLT, bit skimpy. No problem recommending for lunch time eating or casual dining ..

The Bradaun Restaurant @ Leixlip House Hotel
Leixlip, Leixlip, Kildare

Regularly eat in the Leixlip House and always find the ambience lovely. The staff are very polite and attentive but not too imposing. The food is very good but some may find the veg portions a bit small so if you like your veg order extra side. Dont east desserts so cant really comment on those but they look really good too. Bit pricey but worth it although they do good rates for early bird and week night specials.

The Orchard Cafe
Orchard Home & Garden, Celbridge, Kildare

The Orchard has a great garden centre and beautiful home and interior accessories and furniture, they also have a pet section. So if you enjoy browsing for the afternoon and ending with a bit of lunch, then this restaurant is perfect. The food is very good, nice variety but bit pricey. Great for coffee and gorgeous cake selection, again a bit pricey but portions good. Gets busy most afternoons and weekends.
