The Long Man Of Kilfane restaurant
Dublin Road, Thomastown, Thomastown, Kilkenny
Reviewed 28th September 2008 ( visited 03rd August 2008 )the long man serves typical pub grub. Nothing special taste wise but good portions and usually fast service. Menu rarely changes but its not bad if you want something quick and filling.
8 Irishtown, New Ross, Wexford
We have dined here on a few occasions for Sunday lunch with kids and loved it so much we returned for a special anniversary dinner as a couple last night. We were not disappointed. Food/Service was top class. Food is so fresh and presented so beautifully. Our son has an egg allergy and not only has he been catered for the waitress/owner remembered this on a subsequent visit. We live over 30 minutes from this restaurant but its so worth the drive. This restaurant is without a doubt our favourite and we will be back very soon. Top Tip-Try the macaroons!!
Planet Spice Indian Restaurant
16 Merchants Quay, Waterford City, Waterford
had dinner here using a pig*back deal and food was lovely. staff were also very friendly and we had kids with us and they acommodated them without issue. we had some questions about menu as one of our kids has an allergy and the staff answered all of our questions and catered for the allergy portions werent overly big which is nice. we will def eat here again.
The Gallery Bar & Restaurant
St Joseph's Road Mallow, Mallow, Cork
My husband and i stopped off here yesterday for a quick bit to eat at lunch time. first impressions were good as the place was busy and decor was modern. they had a lunch menu which seemed to be good value for 4 courses but as we werent overly hungry i ordered the chicken stir fry and my husband ordered the vol au vent. Food was slow arriving and when it did i was disgusted. my "stir fry" was chicken on the bone with skin and was dripping on oil with little veg. i had to send it back as i physically couldnt eat it so i got soup instead ehich arrived quickly and was average at best. The vol au vent wasnt great either with very little sauce served in a dry cheap case. needless to say we will not be stopping here again.
City Bar & Grill @ The Kilkenny Hibernian Hotel
1 Ormonde Street, Kilkenny City, Kilkenny
i dined here with my husband over Christmas on a Saturday night. the restaurant was very busy so i had high expectations. We were quickly seated but had a long wait to place our order and an even longer wait for our food. The waiting staff were very friendly but so busy-absolutely run off their feet. I had ceasar salad to start and it was nice but not exceptional. My husband had the prawns which were very nice but way overpriced €13/14 for a small starter portion. I had the chicken curry for main course and had no complaints. My husband had the pork and again no complaints. We both had a glass of house white/red wine and it was excellent. We did not have dessert mainly because nothing really appealed to us on menu but also we were satisfied with the food we had.
Low Street, Thomastown, Kilkenny
Good value early bird menu. Beautiful fresh food with a twist. Great fish dishes and fablous desserts. Very good wine. Children were also catered for. Nice area out the back. Service was excellent. will return again.
Eddie Rockets (Citywest)
Citywest Shopping Centre, Citywest Business Campus, West Dublin, Saggart, Dublin
Quick bite. Popped in with partner for a quick bite to eat. Food was only ok. Nachos were cold but hubby said his burger was fine. Service was ok but it was near closing so they were busy cleaning and trying to finish up. would probably return but not so near to closing time.
Zuni Restaurant & Townhouse
26 Patrick St, Kilkenny City, Kilkenny
Fablous Dinner. We attended this restaurant for a special occasion and were not disappointed. We only booked our table that morning and the staff done everything to accomodate us. I had the chicken salad to start. Husband had seabass and I had seafood pasta for main. I had choc fondant (best ever) and hubby had cheesecake for dessert. my only slight complaint was that main fish in pasta dish was salmon and only a few prawns but everything was delicious. Wine was also great. Cant wait to eat here again.

Crotty's Coffee Shop
The Craft Baker Kieran St, Kilkenny City, Kilkenny
not worth the wait. Service very slow. Food very bland. pricey for what you get. nothing tasty or fresh. ok for a cup of coffee and bun but alot nicer nearby for lunch.
William Street, Kilkenny City, Kilkenny City, Kilkenny
Had dinner her with 11 friends. We had the early bird which was good value. Service was very good. Food and wine were also lovely. I had the goats cheese salad to start-delicious and the free range chicken which again was very tasty. Dessert menu was very disappointing and theis was the general feeling from 12 girls. Atmosphere was also only ok. Restaurany very quiet- would be pretty empty except for our party. Only fault- we were left with our empty dinner plates for ages but i will return.
4 Chapel Street, Bennettsbridge, Kilkenny
We had a lovely meal at this restaurant one sunday afternoon. the food is very tasy, the portions are generous and the service was great. Something on the menu to suit everyone. Pizzas are so fresh. Well worth a vist for dining in or take out.
The Pantry Cafe
12 Quentin's Way, Nanagh, Nenagh, Tipperary
You are gauranteed to get great food here. The menu is lovely with a daily specials board also. the desserts are divine and food so fresh and tasty. be prepared to wait for a seat if you arrive around lunch time but staff do their best to accomadate all. Highly recommended.
Skillet Pot Restaurant
Slievenamon Road, Thurles, Tipperary
While I agree that service can be a little slow especially if you order panini/wrap i have to say the food is always fresh. Its probably better value if getting a dinner rather than a sambo. Staff have always been very helpful and quick to clear away tables. Family friendly.
Murphys Pub (Tipperary)
Main St. lemore, Templemore, Tipperary
this place serves good tasty food with generous portions. its usually fairly busy so getting a seat can be a problem . Typical good value pub grub located in the centre of the town.
Kambo Chinese Restaurant
Cathedral st, Thurles, Thurles, Tipperary
Kambo is located above a pub so noise can sometimes be heard from downstairs however if its not a romantic dinner then this would be fine. Food is ok and portions good but service is usually poor but anytime i have eaten there it has been busy. overall not a bad chinese but there are better in town.
4/5 South Main St, Co City, Cork City, Cork
This was my first time to eat in Wagamama and i have to say i was a little dissapointed. Maybe its because I had read so many excellent reviews. anyway the staff were lovely and quickly took our order. We have chicken gyoza and chicken skewers to start. both were nice. Then I had chicken chilli men which was very bland and my husband had chicken katsu curry which was much tastier than mine. the athmosphere was very relaxed and family orientated with lots of kids who looked to be really enjoying themselves and their food. i will try again and hopefully enjoy more next time.
Ripleys Steak House
Butterslip Lane (off Kieran St), Kilkenny City, Kilkenny
I had dinner here with a friend 2 weeks ago. its a really lovely restaurant with a lovely atmosphere. there was a hen nigh dining there, a family, friends and some couples and the ambiance suited all. For starters we shared the combo platter which was plenty for 2 but not over filling. I have chicken fajitas for main and my friend had the cod burger. both were divine especially the fajitas. We were not able for dessert but did enjoy a lovely bottle of house white wine (NZ i think) overall a lovely meal will definitely return.
