Having lived in New York for a number of years, it was great to find this little gem of a restaurant tucked away in the IFSC whose food is just like the Italian food I loved in NY. Their Chicken Parmigiana is gorgeous.

Broadway New York Eatery
Unit 6, Custom House Square IFSC, City Centre North, Dublin

I have been twice to this restaurant after work and both times the food has been lovely. It reminds me of the local small family restaurants in the suburbs of New York where I used to live and the atmosphere is lovely. The food came quickly - we had a deal coupon for a 12" pizza, 2 sides and 2 glasses of wine. The pizza was tasty and freshly baked and the sides were very generous portions - a full size house salad and 2 slices of garlic bread. We continued with a couple more glasses of wine and dessert of tiramasu, which was a large portion with 2 small scoops of ice cream (one vanilla and one chocolate) and it was so tasty. This is now on my list of favourite restaurants and I think it would be a great place to go for dinner before a concert in the Point/O2 as its practically at the NCI/Mayor Square Luas stop.

Brownes Steakhouse
The Plaza, Blanchardstown Village, Dublin 15, Blanchardstown, Dublin

This restaurant was packed on a Wednesday night. They had Steak on the Stone for €15, €3 sides and half price wine. My husband had a steak and I had a burger and they were great. The sides were tasty and fresh (wedges, french beans & gorgeous homemade onion rings). My husband had a king prawn starter and we shared a New York cheesecake. We will definitely be going back. Lovely to not have to travel into town and have such a nice restaurant locally.

Itsa @ IMMA
Irish Museum of Modern Art, Royal Hospital, Kilmainham, Dublin

We went here with our son and ordered two of their Chicken Caesar bagels and two cappachinos which came to €21! The food is gorgeous but it is very overpriced. We could have had a carvery dinner somewhere for the same price. The day we were there it was very crowded but it is a nice place. However, their prices really do need to reflect the current financial climate. At the end of the day, it is only 2 bagels and 2 coffees.

Shimla
5 Weavers Row, Clonsilla, Clonsilla, Dublin

My inlaws, my husband and 4 year old went here as we love it. Their food is always good and they have a high chair for our son (who is special needs). They had a buffet Sunday menu which was one starter, main and rice for a set price and it is good value. My inlaws loved the food and they are well travelled. Simla also do takeaway. We have never had a bad meal here and would recommend it.
