Restaurant Reviews from ccannon

Reviewed 12th July 2013 ( visited 10th July 2013 )I can't (ever) fault CrackBird. I have been here many times. I've brought many friends and visitors here as it's never let me down. I usually get the Soy & Garlic Chicken which is so succulent. The chicken is always cooked to perfection. My favourite sauce with this is the Burnt Lemon and Whipped Feta, but there is something to suit everyone's taste. When I had friends visiting from the UK they looked at the menu before we went and were pretty unimpressed by the fact is was 'just chicken' but after their meal they realised CrackBird chicken is much more than 'just chicken'! Also, the potato salad side is an absolute must!
Ocean Bar restaurant
The Millenium Tower, Charlotte Quay, Ringsend, Grand Canal Dock, Dublin, Area Code: Dublin 4
Reviewed 19th February 2010 ( visited 23rd January 2010 )Went for a bite to eat here before attending a show in the O2. It was quiet in there but the staff were extremely nice. The food was really nice pub grub, nicer than what you would get in other places for the same price. I was there with family and the staff would have let us sit there all night chatting with out bothering us at all, but not ignoring us either! I'll definitely be back!
Custume Place, Athlone, Westmeath
Can\'t fault anything about our visit to Thyme. Staff were wonderful. Food was beautifully presented, and equally as delicious. Great cocktails and drinks menu. We didn\'t feel hurried at any point. The tables were well laid out so the space felt busy, but there was plenty of space between the tables. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and I look forward to returning. \nGet the popcorn, sticky toffee pudding dessert! Amazing!
Kathmandu Kitchen Nepalese & Indian Restaurant

Fantastic food, fantastic service, fantastic atmosphere. I'll definitely be back!
12b Merrion Court, Merrion Row, Dublin, City Centre South, Dublin
I was there with a group of 10 people as a celebratory meal.We were given a nice space to ourselves so we could enjoy the evening without disrupting other diners. We had an utterly fabulous evening. Our waiter made the whole evening very special for us. He had such a brilliant sense of humour and had us all laughing. We were dining from the Pre-Theatre menu and it was very difficult to choose. Everything sounded so delicious, and we were not disappointed when the food arrived to the table. The Pea Soup starter was beautifully seasoned and the Spaghetti al Pesto was fantastic too. All the group seemed very happy with their dishes. I will, without a doubt, be back to Unicorn again and would highly recommend it for any group or occasions.
Oscars Seafood Bistro (Galway)
Lower Dominic Street, Galway City, Galway
I simply can't fault it..... I visited here with two visitors who had been travelling all over Ireland for 10 days previously, they are both very partial to their Seafood and this was their favourite restaurant by far. Our server was so nice, well informed and very attentive. The servings were generous but not too much. The drinks menu was fantastic, and I was delighted to see such a great selection of craft beers available. And the food....well all I can say is you have to try it to believe how fabulous the food is. Now words can successfully describe.
The Morrison, Ormond Quay Lower, Dublin 1, City Centre North, Dublin
This restaurant has probably jumped right ahead of the list of my favourite restaurants in Dublin. For starters, our waiter was absolutely lovely! He was really good fun and he has us laughing all evening. For starters we had the Scotch Eggs and Goats cheese. Both of these were absolutely fantastic. The scotch eggs were hard boiled and we thought they may have been better with a softer yolk, but they were still fabulous with haddock used instead of sausage meat. Mains were Fish Pie and Steak. All steaks were cooked to perfection and the pie was absolutely delicious. The presentation of the mains was really nice too. Again, can't fault the desserts. The Bitter Chocolate Tart was particularly nice! I only marked the atmosphere down because while the restaurant is beautiful, it's extremely modern & slick, which is to my liking but may not be to everyone's taste.
2 George Street, Waterford City, Waterford
This was, without a doubt, one of the best dining experiences I have had in Ireland. The restaurant is stunning and very atmospheric. Also very comfortable, which is nice. We availed of The Market Menu, which was 4 courses for €35. The food was excellent, wonderfully executed and presented. The Market menu offered a lot of choice, which was nice as I find many set menus can be quite short on choices. The staff were so pleasant. I really liked that we weren't rushed and invited to take our time before ordering dessert. They were also very well informed. When I ordered a Gin and Tonic I was recommended Saffron Gin and given a sample. I will be back to Waterford, possibly just to visit La Boheme.

NSquare Steakhouse & Seafood Restaurant
6/7 Camden Wharf, Camden Quay, Cork City, Cork
We had such a wonderful evening in NSquare. I would definitely go back. The only reason I marked the 'Atmosphere' as 4 was because it was particularly quiet the night we went to NSquare, but I imagine when the place is busy it has a really great vibe. The staff were exceptional and so pleasant! The food was delicious, if not a little too much. The portions were very big! (Only reason that was marked down slightly) We had the early bird menu and there was so much choice it satisfied a table of three who all have very different tastes. And it was an absolute bargain for what we had! I'll definitely be back to NSquare.
Meeting House Square, Temple Bar, Dublin
With people visiting from Canada I wanted to bring them somewhere we could chat and have some high quality Irish food with a twist...Eden was perfect!! The food was fantastic, they even made one chicken dishes a little spicy at the request of one of our party. The staff couldn't be more accommodating! Wonderful evening and really set the tone for the start of their holiday.
19/20 Wicklow Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin
We may have arrived at the wrong time but, the restaurant was very very busy when we got there around 2.00. The staff were rushed off their feet and I felt like we were being pushed along in the queue rather then being 'served'. For instance we asked a question about one of the dishes and all we got were one word answers. The food was only ok. There was a lot of choice on the menu but I cant help but think they are trying to be too alternative. The food is very fussy and almost has too many strongly flavoured ingredients for you to enjoy any of the individual tastes of the obviously fresh ingredients used. Also you practically have to go through the kitchen to get to the toilets, which I understand is the case in a few restaurants, but the walkway to the bathrooms was quite cluttered with boxes and such and just was very messy looking, although it was clean. I'm sorry to say I wont be returning in a hurry...
304 Rathmines Road Lower, Rathmines, Dublin
This bar has a great atmosphere are draws a really nice crowd. Went here for after work drinks one evening and ordered off the bar menu. The evening menu did seem to have some good choices but we were not that hungry, just peckish. We ordered the platter x 3 and three starters....this was more than enough food! The platter was very generous for 3 portions and consisted of garlic mushrooms, onion rings, chunky chips, cocktail sausages, chicken wings and chicken goujons. We ordered Chicken parcels x 7 and the bruchetta as well. The food was pretty straight forward, nothing exceptional, but nothing to complain about either. If you are looking for a funky little place but with cosy little booths to have a chat and quick bite to eat, this place is ideal! Plus cocktails are €5 all day every day!
West End House
Lower New Street, Killarney, Kerry
I cannot fault a thing about this restaurant. I was there on the 12th Feb with my family. From the moment we walked in we were made to feel so welcome. There was a set menu being valentines weekend but there was incredible choice with 5 starters and 5 mains to choose from. Also a fabulous little sharing platter for dessert. The wine list was reasonably priced with a lot of variety. We were booked on the first sitting and to relax in the louge area afterwards was lovely rather then being rushed out. I will definitely go back, without a doubt my favourite restaurant in Killarney!
William Street, Kilkenny City, Kilkenny City, Kilkenny
I went here with my mother and had a very enjoyable experience. There was a nice buzz for a tuesday evening. Busy enough for you to feel comfortable. The menu was a set menu of three courses for €27, which offered a great variety. The food was presented beautifully and was absolutely delicious. And the staff were fantastic. I'd go back in a heartbeat....

Quay 16 Restaurant @ MV Cill Airne
MV Cill Airne, North Wall Quay, IFSC, Dublin
Its a nice venue but a little stuffy! Not really a place to relax and just 'enjoy' and evening.
