I came across this restaurant while looking for somewhere reasonable to eat out in town. I was really impressed by the place. A lovely venue, clean, bright and airy. We were there on a Saturday night and there was a piano player who was great. It was a real gastro pub atmosphere with some people just having a drink by the bar and others having something to eat. Very relaxed. I felt that the service and food were great and the prices were very reasonable.

This was my second visit to this restaurant, I had been disappointed the first time round, mainly due to the poor service however that had improved with this visit. The menu is quite limited and is expensive. I was very interested in the special of a hake risotto but it was priced at €25 euro. Too expensive in this current climate and too expensive for a gastro pub. This place is more like a restaurant than a gastro pub.

Paulie's Pizza
58 Grand Canal Street, Dublin 4, City Centre South, Dublin

We went for a quick bite to eat here. We ordered two pizzas and we not able to finish them and we got our leftovers to go. I have had pizza from this place before and it looked like a much bigger portion this time around. The service was very good and there was a nice atmosphere here. We didn't have a reservation and were there on a Tuesday night and were able to get a seat but I live nearby this place and it can get really busy at the weekends as it is quite small inside. They do have an outdoor area but I would only like to sit there if the weather was good enough. They also serve a number of other dishes other then pizza.
