First time at Zakura but I'll definitely be back! The decor and dining room is very minimalistic, it doesn't feel like a place you'd linger in after eating. Service was very swift and efficient. The food was really very good. If you like sushi, you should try this place. As sushi places go in Dublin, it's one of the best I've had.

Lovely spot. Varied menu, I could easily have ordered one of everything, but went with the hake in the end. Delicious. The neighbourhood menu (midweek) is excellent value. Very nice decor in the main dining room and very friendly staff. Wine menu is quite small but they do craft beer too so there is a something for everyone. Would recommend if you are looking for a nice quiet dining experience with decent food in relaxing surroundings.

The Woollen Mills
42 Ormond Quay Lower, Dublin 1, City Centre North, Dublin

Had heard lots about this place so was very excited to visit. Had a little look in the deli area before I was seated and was happy to see lots of gorgeous looking treats, some of which were wheat free. The menu is extensive and all the food that came out looked great. I ordered soup and sambo combo, which was nice, but I did have food envy when I saw what the others at my table were eating. Followed meal with a cake and coffee - all in all a nice dining experience. Will certainly be back!

Opium
26 Wexford St, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

We had the Sharing menu (Taste of Opium) which was absolutely gorgeous. If you like tapas style food then I would highly recommend this. Got to taste so many yummy dishes so was delighted with our choice (although with only 2 desserts on offer this is quite limiting as 2 of our party didnt like panna cotta so we had to fight over the brownies!). Love the food, love the setting, love the cocktails. My only criticism is that given that we only had the table for 2 hours (something that I was made aware of at the time of booking, and also during BOTH phone calls re-confirming the booking, and also upon arrival) it would have been nice if they had taken our order for food and drink within the forst 20 minutes so we wouldn't need to feel rushed at the end of the 2 hours. However, this would absolutely not stop me from returning to a fab new addition to the Dublin restaurant scene.

Downstairs Restaurant
Gilbert & Wright, Hollybrook Park, Dublin 3, Clontarf, Dublin

A gem of a place! The food really is fantastic - every element on my plate(s) were well thought out and beautifully presented, not to mention tasty. Great value for money as well, given the quality of food. The atmosphere is very relaxed and welcoming, even if the dining room itself is a little run of the mill. Well worth a visit for casual dining or a special occasion.

Homemade by Clodagh @ Arnotts
12 Henry Street, City Centre North, Dublin

I have eaten in both the table-service and the self-service restaurants recently. I have to say the food is delicious. You can really tell that its all freshly prepared. The tomato & basil soup in the table service restaurant is one of the nicest I've ever had. The cupcakes are gorgeous too. Great to be able to get lovely homemade food in a department store setting. I was able to spend the whole day Christmas shopping in Arnotts and have a hearty meal to keep me going!
