There is more to eating out than just the food. Yes the food is important but we base our assessment on parking, entry, atmosphere, wines, food, background music, staff and price. It's a total package for your hard earned money. I'm afraid Di Bella failed miserably. Parking was OK no problem. Entry was Ok and we were met by a waitress. She directed us to a small table for 2, but I asked for a 4 table as I like a bit of room for dishes. There were no table cloths and paper napkins were already on the table. The waitress did not light the candle, nor bring a bread-basket. The wine selection was OK, but the selected white was not cold enough and they could not supply an ice-bucket. The waitress looked blankly at me as if this was a request from outer space!. She brought a dry cooler and I had to ask for ice. The background music was some terrible rubbish, so I asked if they had any Italian Music, again I got the shoulder shrug, she disappeared to ask, mumbled some excuse, and never changed any music. Never heard of Pavarotti. The starters of garlic bread and salmon salad were fine. For the main course I ordered a seafood pasta and asked if the shells could be removed, again blank stare and no "I'm sorry we don't do that". The seafood pasta was miserable on seafood and the tagliatelle was bland. My partner’s dish of calamari was bland and tasteless. The staff girl that served us appeared to be confused and lost. The other girl serving lit the candle after I requested. This is a typical 'no-atmosphere, no effort' so-called Italian eatery bordering on fast food. No Italian decor whatsoever, and probably no Italians either.....we won't be hurrying back. Price was reasonable, but satisfaction was rock bottom. People just do not know how to do 'Italian' which always starts with a bread basket on the table......that's when you know if you are going up or down!
