Noble House - Malahide Rd
Northern Cross, Malahide Road, Malahide, Dublin

Visted here over the weekend with a Menupages Voucher. We were seated straight away and given the wine list and Menu. It seemed to be quiet busy which was a good sign, but a little loud as there were a couple of large groups. I did note that everyone with a menu pages voucher all seemed to be in the same area and also were not given a small bowl of prawn crackers to eat whilst waiting to order, all the other tables not with vouchers were given this ( I knew this as all the menupages tables had a small orange mark on the reservation card). Our starters were served within minutes and were rather quiet small for what you would pay. Chicken Wings, and a platter for one of which the ribs were cold. We then waited over 40 mins for our main dish, which was fillet beef in black pepper sauce (we both got this) with Fried rice (one of the smallest portions i have ever seen) and fried noodles. Over all the food was tasty but portions could be a little bigger for what you pay (average cost of main meal 16 - 19 Euros). Would i return again, I don't think so, there are better value for money chinese restaurants around.

Captain America's Cookhouse And Bar
44 Grafton Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Visited captain Americas today, we were told there was a ten minute wait which was fine, and we're seated within ths time. we ordered from the 14.95 euro menu. I had chicken wings and a cheese burger and my husband had the potato skins and a cajin chicken burger, no complaints from either of us, my daughter had the fish and chips and a coke float. Overall the food was very tasty and the service was good. Wud return.

Frankies Italian Bar and Grill
42 Temple Bar Square, Temple Bar, Dublin

Visited Frankies last night for the first time and I have to say I will definitely be back. We had booked for 830pm and arrived just on time. The place was buzzing and we were seatted straight away. We ordered crab cakes and chicken wings to start and both were delicious. We both had steak that was cooked to perfection with hand cut chips and ordered sides of flat mushrooms with garlic and onion rings. The mushrooms were out of this world and I would have wuffed down the whole bowl to my self if I had of been let. Service was good but sometimes a little slow but we were not in a hurry. We then shared a peach sundae to which I was a little bit disappointed but it was a meal really enjoyed and I cannot wait to return for the steak and mushrooms. A little bit pricey but well worth it. YUM

Masterson's Steakhouse & Wine Bar
17 Main Street, Swords, Dublin

My sister has been raving about here to me for ages, so myself, my husband and daughter decided to give it a try, we did book before hand as advised and were seated straight away. There was a great choice on the earlybird menu and it was great value for money. My daughter had the cod goujons and mash, while my husband had the soup to start and I had the buffalo wings. We both had the 7oz minute steak with wedges. The food was delicious and the steaks were cooked to perfection. The service was great and my daughter really liked it and thats from a fussy six year old. Overall the service and food was great, and we will definitely be returning very soon. I would recommend booking before hand as they are always busy.

Salamanca
1 St Andrews Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Myself and my husband decided to go here for my birthday. We were totally disappointed. We arrived at 830pm and were seated straight away. We ordered the fillet beef in mushroom sauce, prawn, monkfish and salmon skewers, potatoe gratin with ham & cream and the aubergines with peppers & goats cheese. We were waiting no less than 10 mins. The aubergines were over powered by the goats cheese and put me straight off. I like goats cheese but this was too much. The rest of the tapas were fine, I went off to the loo and came back and the bill was on our table, my husband had thought I had asked for it when they cleared the table but I hadn't. We were not offered tea, coffee or a desert menu. We felt as if we were being rushed out the door. We were out the door at 915pm. Definitely would not return as there are many more restaurants who would welcome our business. VERY POOR

Gourmet Burger Kitchen (GBK Liffey Valley)
Unit 40B, Liffey Valley Shopping Centre, West Dublin, Liffey Valley, Dublin

My friend and I decided to have some thing to eat here last night before a movie. There was plenty of choice on the menu and my friend decided to have a chicken burger with cranberries & camembert and I had the habenara burger. We both ordered fries and a garlic mayo dip. When the food arrived the chicken burger was over cooked, the cheese as not melted on both burgers and the chips were well over crispy. The mayo dip had been left lying so there was a skin on it. Not impressed and probably wouldn't return.

Coachmans Inn
Airport Road, Cloghran, Dublin

What can I say but stay away. We went to the restaurant for my father in laws 70th birthday. They had the early bird on offer. At first glance there was plenty of choice on the menu. We were left waiting so long to order we had to go to the bar for our own drinks. I ordered the seafood and avacado salad, my daughter ordered the chicken wings and nearly everyone else had the soup. The seafood salad came out less the avacado and was like mashed seafood with marie rose sauce. The chicken wings were burnt but the soup seemed to be ok. My husband ordered the turkey and ham and I had the steak. The turkey was dry and I tried to the best of my ability to cut my steak without looking as if it was hard work but it was. The best of the food was probably the veg. Definitely would not go back and the service well, what service?

Fahrenheit Grill
Clontarf Castle Hotel, Castle Avenue, North Dublin, Clontarf, Dublin

Visited Fahrenheit last night for the first time with my husband, it was our Wedding Anniversary and we had received a voucher for a meal for two and a bottle of house wine. I have to say the food is first class and there is a good choice on the menu. My husband had the carrot and corriander soup and I had the crab & prawn tian to start. Absolutely delicious. My husband then went for the rib eye and I had the monkfish. We both enjoyed every mouthful. The restaurant was a little quiet and I think it is a little pricey but well worth the money if you have it.

Eddie Rockets (O Connell Street)
O' Connell Street, City Centre North, Dublin

Decided to try Eddie Rockets today for a bit to eat, food never disappoints but the decor could do with a revamp. I had the cob salad and it was delicious, my mam and 2 aunts all had the M50 burger and fries and they had no complaints. Not really value for money as it is a little overpriced 9.55 for the salad.... The service was very good as we were not waiting too long and the food was piping hot when it arrived. So we will return but maybe to one of the other locations.

Smyths Cock Tavern Swords
31 Main Street, Swords, Dublin

Went for lunch with the girls from work, we had had lunch here last week and really enjoyed it so decided to return yesterday. We ordered a hot chicken & bacon salad with the dressing on the side, the santa fe wrap and the fajatas. When the salad came out it was a ceaser salad, we mentioned this and it was brought back and returned without the croutons and the bacon thrown on top, but still the wrong dressing, sent it back again to recieve rolled eyes from both the waitress and bar man, the sante fe wrap didn't have any cheese or peppers as mentioned on the menu. The fajatas were really good, but overall we were disapointed. Overall there is a great choice on the menu and the prices are ok but I don't know if we will return in the future.

Indie Spice Grill
Burgundy House, New Street, North Co. Dublin, Swords, Dublin

Went to Indie Spice today for lunch and I have to say it is great value for money. 8.95Euro for two course lunch. I had the Sheek Kebab for starter and it was delicious. I then had Chicken Tikka Masala and it was fab. Service was with a smile and we were served straight away, so I wasn't delayed going back to work. I hadn't had an Indian meal in years and I definitely won't leave it as long the next time.

new plaza
Unit 4, 1 st Floor , Main Street , Swords, Dublin

Had dinner here last night for the first time, great value for money 18 Euro for 5 course meal with plenty of choice. The only thing that let us down was the decor it seemed to be a little shabby and the toilets weren't the best. The waitress was great and the food was good. If you spend over 50 euro you get a free bottle of wine, there was 5 of us and we spent over 100 euros so they gave us two. I don't think I will return as I think there are much nicer restaurants around that are doing the same kind of deals.

Gourmet Food Parlour Swords
Unit 2 St Fintans, North Street, Swords, Swords, Dublin

This place is a real gem, bit expensive but the food is fresh and delicious. Lunch time is always busy but you are not left waiting too long. The Tuna melt is the best, i have had a couple of other items off the menu and was never left dissapointed.

Thunder Road Cafe
Fleet Street, Dublin 2, Temple Bar, Dublin

Had lunch here today. Arrived at 1pm and we were seated straight away. there was myself, my sister, my daughter and nephew. The kids menu was great value, if we had know the portions were so big we would have got the kids to share. We had the wings and they were great, service was great also, but a little too expensive for us for lunch, there were no special offers. Would return as the food was great.

Padraicin's Restaurant & Bar
Furbo, Furbo, Galway

Visited Padraicins last Thursday, they had a great kids menu and great value for 6.95. I had a panini and my husband had the chowder, no complaints, food was great and a great view of the bay.

McDonagh's Seafood House
22 Quay Street, Galway, Galway City, Galway

Lobster Pot Restaurant
Galway Bay Hotel, The Promenade, Salthill, Galway

Visited the Galway Bay Hotel for a mini family break, we had a meal in the Lobster pot restarant. We had chowder to start which was really nice, we then had the sirloin which was cooked to perfection, then lemon tart to finish which was ok but not to my liking. Overall the service was great and the food ok.

Millstone, A Dublin Restaurant
39 Dame Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

I went here for our Christmas meal for work, we had the Christmas menu for 49.95 and it was worth every penny, there was plenty of choice, and the food was great, It was a little chaotic when we arrived but it was the last Friday before Christmas so it was to be expected. Overall a great restaurant and would definitely return.

Eddie Rockets (Liffey Valley)
Liffey Valley Shopping Centre, West Dublin, Liffey Valley, Dublin

We decided to have Eddie Rockets for lunch on Thursday, for a change their was no queue and we were sitted straight away, I had the buffolo wings and my husband had the classic burger, we decided to share the half and half of onion rings and chips. Overall the food was great and so was the service.

Wrights Cafe Bar
The Plaza, Swords, Swords, Dublin

I went to Wrights for lunch with the girls from work, we were impressed with the menu and it was good value for money. We all went for the tuna melts and chunky chips. We were served quickly and the staff were friendly and efficient. Will definitely return soon.

The River Cafe
Raheny Shopping Centre, Howth Road, Raheny, Raheny, Dublin

My husband and I decided to try here for breakfast, we both had the brunch which was 8.95. We were told it would be brought to our table, we were waiting at most 7 mins and there was plenty on the plate, 2 sauages, 2 rashers, scrambled eggs, toast, tomato, potato cake, and pudding, tea or coffee also. Very busy restaurant and can't fault it. The staff were polite and the service overall was good. Would go again for breakfast, before 11am is best as it seemed to get very busy after this time.

profile_review

Oscar Taylor Restaurant
Island View Hotel, Coast Road, North Co. Dublin, Malahide, Dublin

We arrived at 5.20pm for the early bird and were seated straight away, there were 2 other couples seated also. My husband opted for the soup to start and I had the seafood cocktail(very small portion). I then had the 7oz steak and my husband had the corned beef. Couldn't fault the mains. Desert of Apple pie and ice cream with tea and coffee. Bill came to 44.90 including a pint and soft drink. Great value for money.

profile_review

Wrights Findlater Howth Restaurant
Findlater House, North Co. Dublin, Howth, Dublin

Went for lunch with my husband and daughter aged 4, found the food to be ok, my daughters sausage and mash seemed to be reheated and the sausages were over cooked and tough. My husband and I had fish and chips, the fish was lovely but i thought a little bit overpriced for the portion. I don't know if we will return, i think there are better places in Howth.

profile_review

The Orchid Chinese Restaurant
12 New Street, Malahide, Malahide, Dublin

My husband and myself had a booking for 8pm, we arrived a couple of minutes early and were seated right away. We choose the deluxe combination starter for two, which included spare ribs, chicken wings, spring rolls and chicken satay, the ribs were lovely and tender. My husband had fillet beef with pepper sauce and I had the crispy chicken in hot garlic sauce, overall the food was great and so was the service, we weren't rushed out the door like most restaurants now a days. Great restaurant and always very busy, they do great take away business also.

profile_review

Elephant & Castle
18/19 Temple Bar, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

I visited the E & C yesterday afternoon with my mother, we were seated straight away and our order was taken fairly quickly. We were then left waiting over half an hour for our starter and had to ask if it was on the way. We had the wings between us (best in Dublin) and then I had a burger and fries and my mam had the cheese and bacon omelette. Overall the staff were fine, but they didn't seem to much in a rush to bring out the food. Overall the food was great but the service needs to improve.

profile_review

The Oar House Fish Restaurant
8 West Pier, North Co. Dublin, Howth, Dublin

I went to the Oar House yesterday evening, we had intended to go for the early bird but didn't make it in time, we arrived at 6.30pm and the early bird had finished at six, but we didn't mind at all as the food was absolutely wonderful. We had the chowder to start and then I had the buffalo prawns (the best), my husband had the ray wing in garlic butter, we both had chips but 1 portion would have been enough as the portion was very big. Would I go again? Yes, and I am already thinking of what I am going to have.
