We both started with the Crab salad, & the taste of the pink grapefruit combined with the crab was something I had never expected but was amazing. I followed on with the 14oz T-bone Steak which was perfectly cooked as requested M/R, & beautifully presented (with 1900 branded on each steak!), while my wife had the fillet which was also perfectly cooked & presented. We had a bottle of the house red to accompany the meal, & this was a really nice Chilean Cabernet Sauvignon. If the food wasn't stunning enough, our waiter Andre completed the evening for us - what a gentleman, so welcoming, attentive, & most importantly, discrete. We were engaged by the manager after our meal who told us a bit about the restaurant - this again reinforced the personal touch which has been somewhat lacking in Dublin restaurants over the past number of years, but is very naturally & effortlessly evident in 1900. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal in 1900 & would highly recommend. Well done 1900 & thank you - we will be back !

I have been here a couple of times, & the food is very good. On both occasions I have gone for the black pudding starter which is a great combination of flavours, nicely presented, & for main I have had the rack of lamb which was perfectly cooked & presented. The other main I had was the organic sirloin, which was cooked medium rare just as I had asked. Staff were very friendly. When we were there we were seated at the back of the restaurant, which was extremely warm, so they need to sort out some proper airconditioning, as I would not sit there again - I would ask for a table which has some airflow. Another request - please change the chairs at the back of the restaurant - they're about 3 inches lower than a normal seat height, so when you sit down at the table you sink lower than you expect, which is a bit disorienting, & especially as your friends seated on the bench on the other side are at normal height. Seems like a small thing, but its actually very offputting to have the table height a couple of inches higher than normal for the practicalities of eating.

Da Mimmo Restaurant
148A North Strand Road, City Centre North, Dublin

Cannot recommend highly enough. Requested special starter of 1/2 main course of spaghetti bolognese, & while not on the menu as starter this was no problem to chef, & it was delicious. Main course was quite incredible : seabass of the day. today it was Seabass with Seafood. All I can say is that it was outstanding in its simplicity & deliciousness : when the plate arrived, I could not see the seabass, as 2 large fillets were covered with cockles, mussels, calamari & sun-dried tomatoes. Staff so friendly & first generation Italian. Best value for money. Book early to get a table as the room is very small. The phrase 'authentic Italian' is bandied around frequently, but it certainly applies in the case of Da Mimmo. this was my 5th visit & will certainly be back. Don't change, Da Mimmo !

Rolys Bistro
7 Ballsbridge Terrace, Dublin, Ballsbridge, Dublin

The welcome at the door from restaurant manager was very friendly, & we were shown to our seats - we were offered a choice, & took a private booth. I noted that the wine list was very well structured, with a number of wines listed at approx Eur25.50, & another group at Eur27.50, All very good wines. After that there were many more up to whatever you would like to spend. This is a touch of realism which is appreciated. Starters were excellent, but arrived with undue haste after ordering I have to say, as did our mains. This was the only slight blemish (better this way than too slow), but please adhere to standard times. The main of Hereford Rib was perfectly cooked, & excellent portions, with 3 vegetables included. Desert menu again arrived promptly as did the return to take our order, but we requested a break ! Overall a very enjoyable & relaxing evening - would highly recommend.
