Myself and my boyfriend went to JD's Steakhouse for my Birthday last Sat and I could not be happier with our choice. We were greeted by John and our table was set for us straight away by the window. We ordered ribs and bruschetta as our starters. I did not like the bruschetta as I found it not as fresh and crispy as it should have been, however, the ribs were absolutely delightful, definitely one of the best we have ever had. My boyfriend's main was the ribeye with mash and garlic butter and I ordered surf & turn with peppercorn sauce and steamed veg. I asked the steak to be medium rare and it was cooked to perfection. I found the whole combination very tasty - and the sauce definitely had some kick! For dessert we had the creme brulee and chocolate cake with ice cream and cream. My chocolate cake was absolutely delicious and very rich, absolutely perfect with the ice cream I asked for on the side. I could not recommend this place enough, absolutely superb service (our waiter was very friendly - I never caught his name, sorry - and at the end I got a shot of Baileys from Andrea as it was my Birthday and it turned out she also was from the Czech Republic :) ) and food, perfect for any occasion and worth every penny! Looking forward to our next dinner there already.

The Counter Dundrum
Pembroke District, (adjacent to the Mill Pond at Town Square), Dundrum, Dublin

This is our favourite spot to grab a very tasty burger and sweet potato fries, we have been many times and definitely will be back again. I love the idea of building your own burger and it is always cooked to perfection - and it is sooooo tasty. Sweet potato fries come with a delicious diping sauce, deadly combination! Dessert would usually be the vanilla malt (we always share our desserts if we have them as the malt in particular is huge) and we have tried the brownie and cheescake, which both come with more ice cream on the side. Very tasty indeed. If possible try to get a table on the right from the entrance as the door never really shuts (the place is very busy) so there is always that bit of a draft coming in. Last time we visited the place was so busy that we decided to eat outside. While it was not very cold, as the evening progressed, it got quite chilly and we found the heaters not effective at all. The table was also not wiped after we sat down.

Cafe Topolis
37 Parliament Street, Temple Bar, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

This was my second time in the restaurant. The staff is OK, I suppose they could be a bit more friendly. As for the food, my partner had salmon with saute potatoes and was delighted. I, on the other hand, had chicken with gorgonzola sauce and mash, the combination of the cheese and meat was delightbul but the sauce was cold so that spoilt the whole meal. I then ordered chocolate ice cream for dessert and was quite satisfied with the taste. What I noticed when we were leaving is that the staff (including cooks) smoke in front of the restaurant. That should not be acceptable. I will see if I come back or not.
