Yamamori Noodles restaurant
71-72 South Great Georges Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin, Area Code: Dublin 2
Reviewed 21st August 2009 ( visited 12th June 2009 )My boyfriend and I had lunch here before and we absolutely loved it. We had never heard of the place but we strolled in there as the smell wafting out onto the street was very enticing. My boyfriend isn't a sushi fan or the best person for trying new dishes. He ordered the beef teriyaki and hasn't stopped raving about it since. I ordered some sushi to begin with and then had yaki soba for my main course. It was absolutely delicious. Any time our friends or family go to Dublin we always recommend Yamamoris, even though we've only been there once. We are traveling to Dublin this weekend and will definitely be paying a visit.

Reviewed 27th April 2010 ( visited 20th April 2010 )I visited Currans last week with 4 other women. We were going on to a show after so we thought the location would suit us perfectly. And it did! We all enjoyed the food we got and the service was very efficient. I enjoyed reading about the various itens in the restaurant that had been recovered from Churches, schools, etc. It was a nice touch that this information was available on the menus. I ordered the Hawaiian pizza and it was very nice. I have eaten here before a number of times and have mostly ordered the Thai seafood which never lets me down but I just felt like a change. The prices were very reasonable too which is important to everyone at the moment.
Willie Pa's Bar & Restaurant
Colamane Cross Bantry, Bantry, Cork
My boyfriend and I ate here on a Sunday evening. We heard such great reviews about Willie Pa's that we just had to go and find out for ourselves. We were very impressed from the moment we walked in the door. We were greeted with a hearty welcome as if we were life-long customers. We were shown into the bar and given menus. There was great choice throughout the menu from brie, scallops, warm chicken salad and chowder among the starters to steak, lamb, scampi, pork steak and seabass among the main courses. This is just a selection of what was on offer. I ordered smoked salmon stuffed mushrooms with tarragon mayonnaise followed by John Dory with fresh prawns. All I can say was scrumptious! My boyfriend got the warm chicken salad with chorizo and sweet chilli sauce followed by lamb shank. I tasted both and I would have enjoyed them just as much. As if we hadn't enough by now, we saw the desserts that were being served to the other guests and we just couldn't resist. I just about managed to finish a beautiful fresh fruit salad served in a meringue nest and my boyfriend had the warm chocolate pudding with caramel sauce. Once again, they were both equally delicious. The service from start to finish was second to none and I highly recommend Willie Pa's to anyone looking for a good meal and an enjoyable evening out.
Kudos Bar @ The Clarion
Lapps Quay, Cork City, Cork
I had dinner here last weekend. I found it very reasonable and the food was very tasty. I love asian food so I was very pleased with the menu. I went for the Malaysian Nasai Goreng and it was gorgeous. My boyfriend had the terrayaki and really enjoyed it too. The only negative I have and it's only a tiny one was that the large glass windows and doors on one side of the bar look out to the hotel lobby and this can be quite distracting. If you like Asian food you will definitely be happy with Kudos!
Union Hall Leap, Skibbereen, Cork
This is a little gem set in a picturesque West Cork fishing village. I have been visiting here with a number of years. No matter who is behind the bar, there is always a warm welcome. Sundays and Bank Holiday Mondays are especially busy as well as during the summer months. This provides a great atmosphere. The menu caters for all tastes and for both young and old. I lie to order the deep-fried brie and then the prawns, ie. scampi. These are real prawns deep-fried, not the plastic-like ones you get in the supermarket or in a chipper! The seafood platter is to-die-for and I find it very hard to finish it when I order it and that's even the mini-platter. The fish pie is also delicious as are anything else I have tasted there over the years. It is a very child-friendly place to and the staff are all locals, making for a good rapport between staff and customers. I highly recommend Dintys for both lunch and dinner.
Luigi Malones (Cork)
1-2 Emmet Place, Cork City, Cork
I've visited here a number of times before but more recently had lunch during the Easter holidays. It was quite busy but we were served promptly and our food was also brought out in good time too. I went for the yaki soba which was really tasty. There was just the right amount too as I hate leaving a place to full. On other occasions, I've had the baby calamari, baby back ribs and a number of pasta dishes which have all been delicious. I would recommend Luigi Malones for lunch or dinner and it is especially handy if you are going to the Opera House after as it is right across the way.

We went here on Valentine's Night. The reason we chose the Continental was because there was a special offer on that night. The restaurant itself was very intimate and nicely decorated. The lady that greeted us was very welcoming. We were given a free glass of champagne for the night that was in it and offered a choice of table. During our visit there, a number of guests came in at different times that appeared to be regulars and they were greeted with hugs and called by their first names. The atmosphere was very nice and particularly suitable for our Valentine's meal. I had the duck and it was absolutely divine! It was cooked to perfection and the vegetables were very tasty. They were just right - not overcooked - you had the right amount of bite! I would definitely recommend this restaurant, especially for a romantic dinner.
Old Bandon Road, Cork City, Cork
It's usually a Sunday when I visit the Viaduct. They are well-known for their good carvery but I'm not a fan of carvery so I can't comment on that! I always go for the bar menu which has plenty for me to choose from. More often that not I order the duck and it is always spot on! The staff are very friendly and there is always a good atmosphere. It's also very handy to visit as there is plenty of parking available.

I have eaten here a number of times and the food is always delicious. First of all, the restaurant is beautiful with stained glass windows and exquisite decor throughout. You are then greeted by friendly servers who take your order from an extensive menu ranging from salads and pizzas to seafood and steak. And that's just to name a few! Two of my favourite items are the chowder and the brown bread that accompanies it. There is always plenty of fish in the chowder and it is delicious. I highly recommend a trip to 'The Church' at any time - you won't be disappointed!

I visit Wagamamas at least once a month. I am a big fan of Asian food and Wagamamas offers me a more healthy option than Chinese take away! Mostly I eat there but I have gotten take away on a few occasions and that was very nice too. The canteen-style seating doesn't bother me as you still have enough room to be comfortable. The menu is varied but I always go for the duck/prawn gyozas and yaki soba/yaki udon. You certainly should never leave hungry if you like what you have chosen. On my last visit on the above date, I chose something different for a change as it was lunch time. I chose the wagamama ramen which is a noodle soup dish with prawns, chicken, veg, etc. However it should have said prawn and not prawns as I could only find one prawn! I found this dish rather tasteless and I was not satisfied by the time I was finished. In future I will be sticking to what I know which is unlike me as I normally like to try new things! I would definitely recommend Wagamama to anyone who likes Asian food and dining there can be an experience in itself.
14 Parnell Place, Cork City, Cork
Four of us (two couples) visited here on a Sunday night recently. We were surprised at how big the restaurant was when we got inside. The decor was very warm and inviting. We were seated to a table straight away and the servers from start to finish were very efficient and pleasant. I find this always helps greatly to my overall impression of a restaurant! We all had starters, main courses and desserts. We shared an aromatic duck between us and we had more than enough. The only negative I had was that the dish my boyfriend and I ordered was very very spicy and we usually have this dish so we thought we knew what to expect! However, once we got over the initial spice - the dishes were very tasty and once again we had plenty of everything. I would highly recommend Panda Mama to anyone who likes Chinese food.
The Brick Oven
Wolfe Tone Square, Bantry, Cork
My boyfriend and I eat here once every couple of nights. It usually coincides with a trip to the cinema as they are very near each other. I've sampled many things on the menu and they are all lovely but the pizzas are by far the nicest, infact they're delicious. reason I gave 3.5 out of 5 for atmosphere is because I feel the tables could be spread out a small bit more. For pizza lovers out there, this place is a must. You get good value for money and the staff are very friendly and efficient.
The Poachers Inn Bar & Restaurant
Clonakilty Road, Bandon, Bandon, Cork
I visit the 'Poacher's' whenever I can. Dining there is a very enjoyable experience. Not only is the food amazing but the atmosphere is warm and inviting and the staff are top class. Many of the staff that were there at the beginning are still serving today - that is always a good sign! My personal favourites are the crab claws, crab and prawn cakes and the seafood crumble. However I have tried many more dishes on the menu and have always left very happy. If you haven't eaten here before you are really missing out. I would highly recommend 'The Poacher's Inn' to everyone.
