If your visiting this is the rosetta stone of Dublin life. If your local and you have not been here ... Seared tuna ... quail legs ... soft shell crab .... truffle pasta ... Asian pork belly ... fried baby squid ... wild irish mushrooms ... All to hand .. great wine menu.. nice crafty beers. Cocktail heaven !

Jewel in the Crown (South William Street)
5 South William Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Went for the early bird with the 5 of us. Prawn bhuna was particularly good. Good value and good food.

Nice meal where you can bring your own wine. Had a menupages voucher and it was worth if for what we got. Overall pleasant.

Wrights Anglers Rest
Strawberry Beds, West Dublin, Dublin 20, Chapelizod, Dublin

Started with a guinness and some ardsallagh goats cheese with pickled beetroot which was very nicely presently and tasty, with some crunchy bread. Following on I had the hake with berlotti beans, pickled onions and a fantastic cream sauce. Party of 5 and we were all very happy. Steaks hit the mark ! Food is great here and I hope they continue to keep it up as I will be back !

Maximilians Bistro
Superquinn Shopping Centre, Dublin 15, Blanchardstown, Dublin

Hands down the best restaurant in the Dublin 15. Had the Fettucini Wild Game ragu, with venison and porcini mushrooms, with raspberries and olives ... really good ! Pizza's , chicken and fish dishes are fantastic.

Brownes Steakhouse
The Plaza, Blanchardstown Village, Dublin 15, Blanchardstown, Dublin

For a steak house the steak was not great. And the price did not reflect the service, food or atmosphere. I wont be back unless they up their game. I felt robbed, because I was.

Ciao Bella Roma
24/25 Parliament Street, Dublin 2, City Centre, Temple Bar, Dublin

Nice pasta, reasonably priced. Pizza\'s need improvement. Too much cheese and tomato sauce. Center of pizza was very soggy. Know it can better as you got towards the crust it improved. Hope it improves would go back for the pasta.

Fade Street Social - The GastroBar
4-6 Fade Street, Dublin 2 , City Centre South, Dublin

My wife and I are regulars to Fade Street Social. Love the tapas... great to share. We order 3 , then order 2 to 3 more depending on what they are. The baby fried octopus are amazing. Seared tune fillet with various dots of sauce and fennel is addictive. Atmosphere us great.. I like to sit at the counter sometimes and watch the guys work as we have sone wine or beers. The cocktails in the bar are fantastic... 11 to 13 euro each but brilliantly made. 5 stars all around. The minute we enter the place we kick back and relax.

Little Caesars Pizza (City Centre)
5 Balfe Street, Near Westbury Hotel, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Arrived just after the St Patticks Day parade , just before the rush. 2 adults and 3 kids , sat downstairs , which was fine , but lacked a bit of atmosphere.. but it got busy ! Fancied the spaghetti and meatballs....the spaghetti was perfectly cooked with a bite and would have been happy with that and no meatballs...outright one of the best pasta dishes I have ever eaten. Kids were happy with pizza and green pasta ;-) . Great food , nice staff .. its a regular place for us !

Wrights Anglers Rest
Strawberry Beds, West Dublin, Dublin 20, Chapelizod, Dublin

Arrived just after 6pm but had to ask for the early bird menu , after having been given the main dinner menu ... shouldnt have to ask. Really enjoyed the fish and chips , and the hake with berlotti beans also hit the mark. It was not busy when we arrived as it was early so service was prompt. Overall I enjoyed revisiting the anglers. I look forward to going back and hope it is consistent later in the evening.

Chapter One Restaurant
18/19 Parnell Square, Dublin 1, City Centre North, Dublin

I have nothing but good things to say about Chapter One. Group of 5 of us went last night, my second time. The whole experience was a pleasure from start to finish. We went for the four course dinner menu at 70 euro a head with a few bottles of wine to boot. I had to the Marinated violet artichokes with buttermilk, basil oil and pickled garlic to start which I think I might dream about. Following that I had Molloy’s smoked haddock, with creamed and roasted cauliflower, crème fraiche, dried leek and fermented wild horseradish juice. The haddock was cooked perfectly and I have no idea how the cauliflower tasted that nice. After 2 perfect plates of pleasure, I chose the loin of rabbit for main. For dessert i had the buttermilk cream lemon puree jelly that I would have eaten a whole plate of on its own. I will not be waiting as long for the next time I go to Chapter One. Great job guys , keep it up !

The Ivy @ Dunboyne Castle
Dunboyne Castle Hotel and Spa, Dunboyne, Dunboyne, Meath

Was staying the castle for the night and 2 of us went for a meal in the brasserie. The food was absolutely gorgeous. I had the salmon gravalax to start which was lovely and my wife had the chicken liver pate with brioche which had me speechless it was that nice. Very delicate silky smooth flavours that you have to give a try! For mains i had the rump of lamb on mash which was perfectly cooked with small lentils adding a fantastic earthyness. My wife had a sirloin steak with homecut chips. The steak was up there with the best steaks I have tasted anywhere. Too many chips was the only complaint...hardly a complaint. We had a lovely bottle of prosecco which was 34 euro. To finish we both had the trio of creme brule which is always a nice finish to a meal. One of mine was ever so slighly runny...but all the same very nice. Total cost was 95 euro and we left a 10% tip as the waitresses were very attentive and very friendly , even if they were a bit over stretched. I would recomment visiting the brasserie even if your not staying in the hotel. I for one will definitely be back !!

TGI Friday (Blanchardstown)
Blanchardstown Shopping Centre, Dublin 15, Blanchardstown, Dublin

It’s expensive, in your face ...but hey, it's TGI's. Personally the baby back ribs with Jack Daniels sauce coming at circa 24 Euro is not cheap but it gets my vote. Service is always good even when busy and it caters well for families...if not in the pocket.
