We order takeaway from New Good Year quite often. Our visit to the restaurant was not a disappointment. There is a wider selection than from the takeaway menu. The presentation was lovely. The atmosphere was quiet, pleasant, & waitresses were attentive and friendly. Food was served quickly but there was no rush. We've visited (on weeknights) as a couple & found it a cozy place to talk. We've also brought our children and found it to be a family-friendly place to dine.

The Saddle Room @ The Shelbourne
The Shelbourne Hotel, 27 St Stephen's Green, Dublin, City Centre South, Dublin

Friends who stayed here hosted invited us to a breakfast feast. If you are willing to have a breakfast as the celebratory meal of the day, the Saddle Room is a lovely venue. Anything you would imagine for a breakfast, from a healthy vege smoothy to traditional Irish breakfast to eggs benedict, you will enjoy this cuisine. Not something we could ordinarily afford. Of course you are paying for the establishment and service, which is why I emphasize it is for a special event.

Third Space
Unit 14, Smithfield Market, North Dublin, Smithfield, Dublin

If you're looking for a place that feels like home when you walk in, Third Space hits the spot. Whenever we're near the quays, we stop in here to eat or enjoy a cuppa coffee. Food is delicious and fresh. Atmosphere is more than just an eatery, there are events that happen in the evenings as well, encouraging creatives in music, drama & the arts.

The Conservatory Bistro @ The Glenview Hotel
Glen of The Downs, Delgany, Wicklow

Although there is the fancier Woodlands restaurant upstairs, we chose to dine in the Conservatory as the view is the same, and the menu had options that were not available at the Woodlands. Portion size: ample! Delicious. Our waiter was very friendly and served well. What a brilliant view of the Wicklow mountains, making for a delightful dining experience.

Siam Thai (Dundrum)
Dundrum Town Centre, South Dublin, Dundrum, Dublin

Dined from the Early Bird menu. Food was tasty, service was good. Unless seated near a window or get a booth, it felt somewhat crowded and the atmosphere was a bit noisy.

Kudos (Liffey Valley)
Clarion Hotel, Dublin 22, Liffey Valley, Dublin

As I've read the reviews, I must admit that I've not eaten in the restaurant during the evening. But I often meet with friends in the area near the bar for lunch, have always been pleased. The Asian dishes are tasty, as well as the sandwiches. And if meeting up for a cuppa, the presentation of scones is elegant. Comfortable atmosphere, soft lighting, and good service.

Pregos
Unit 2 Balloyowen Castle Shopping Centre, West Dublin, Lucan, Dublin

Prego's is one of those surprises, in that the setting at Ballyowen isn't spectacular, but once you're inside and upstairs, you feel like you're in a for a good meal. And they were...except for the wait. The atmosphere is casual. The 4 of us came for a Friday evening meal and true to Italian standards, we had plenty of time to relax and enjoy each course. Unfortunately, the wine we chose was out of stock; the same for a main dish (they ran out of an ingredient)... which really shouldn't be the case during the weekend. 3 main courses were brought out but mine was brought 10 minutes after theirs-though I hadn't ordered an appetizer. The food was good quality for good value.

Lemongrass (Liffey Valley)
Arc Bar, Liffey Valley Centre, West Dublin, Lucan, Dublin

We ordered the dishes for two, and they were served on large square platters divided into the different dishes. Impressive presentation~ delicious food. The glace noodles reminded me of meals eaten in Korea; it was a really tasty dish. The menu had enough choices of dishes that I myself don't cook, so I look forward to going back to try some more.

Baan Thai (Leopardstown)
Central Park, Block P, Dublin 18, Leopardstown, Dublin

After reading several reviews, which mentioned the service, that was foremost in my mind when we went out to Baan Thai. We had a reservation and were seated immediately. All who served us were attentive and friendly. No sense of rush. The atmosphere was bright and clean, with our wall being a window. Food was delicious with an ample choice from the menu.
