Went for lunch here with friends on Friday. I had the beef starter, very tender, followed by trout and spicy beans, not very spicy but trout was lovely. Finished with pancotta, very smooth and tasty. All in all, food was nicely presented, atmosphere was nice and relaxed, staff were efficient and unobtrusive and will definately be back for lunch as it represented really good value for good food.

Davy Byrnes is great for a drink. I've tried the food on a number of occasions, the open prawn sandwich, the chicken curry.... all very nice but nothing very special. The staff are one of the great things about this place, they remember your drinks order and you just have to give them a nod for another round to come to your table. Nice atmospher but would be great if the food was a bit more varied and taken up a notch.

Ginthai
The Plaza Hotel Complex, Belgard Road, Tallaght, Dublin

I had a meal here with my Menupages Voucher...great value! We had a three course dinner each and four cocktails. The food was delicious, we had chicken satay and calamari to start. The food was quick to come to the table, hot and the waiting staff were efficient and curteous. For mains we had the massadam curry and the Red thai curry... all delicious. For dessert, my partner had the green tea cheesecake, delicious but he was full after the meal and I had the star anise creme brulee. I didn't taste the star anise but it was delicious. A really nice restaurant and lovely staff, My only gripe would be the techo-ish music played, they did lower it down a tad but it seemed out of place on a Sunday afternoon in an asian restaurant. Food delicious though and staff very welcoming and friendly.

Fade Street Social - The GastroBar
4-6 Fade Street, Dublin 2 , City Centre South, Dublin

I have to say, the food here is outstanding. I visited with two friends and we were shown into the A La Carte Restaurant. There is a tapas bar type of place where you can wait for your table and everywhere was packed. I ordered the duck mousse to start and it was truly outstanding... the flavour was amazing and every bit of the dish was jam-packed with flavour. My friend ordered the smoked salmon and seemed happy with it. We ordered mostly from the woodfire menu....the menu is extensive and you will find something you like. I ordered the chorizo option... delish! We had a lovely waiterwho was very happy to go through the different options and was a credit to the restaurant. All in all, we found the entire service to be very professional and curteous. Even though we were to vacate our seat after our meal by 8:30, it was fine and we were reminded quite nicely. The atmosphere is noisy and busy and lots going on, quite a young crowd for the most. I was particularly mesmerized by the massive woodfire oven which seems in constant use. Definitely will be back.... had such a lovely meal, I could order the exact same again but would love to try all of the menu. Well done!

Vermilion
94-96 Terenure Road, Dublin 6 , Terenure, Dublin

We bought a menupages voucher for this restaurant and I have to say, what a great bargain! Some of the menupage deals are a bit hit-and-miss but this was right on the money. Restaurant was very chic and modern, lovely atmospheric lighting, nice Molten Brown soaps in the toilets and spotless clean. Staff were friendly and polite and not intrusive. The food was absolutely delicious! We had the 'sampler' plate for two, which was a bit of everything and so good. I loved the different choices on the menu and I went for the jumbo prawns with mango sauce, never seen this before and it was gorgeous. My partner had the Tikka Masala and raved about it. The portions were not huge but we were very full after it. Having said that, we had Eton Mess and Charred Pineapple to finish with coffee and hot chocolate. Not sure how we fitted it all in but we did. Fab from start to finish, I don't think anyone would be disappointed in this restaurant. I will definately be back!

The River Room @ The K Club
The K Club, Straffan, Kildare

We had Sunday lunch here yesterday. I have to say, it was excellent from start to finish! My partner had Cauliflower Soup, delicious and creamy, and I had the homemade sausage with pear, I would have never thought of this as a combination but it was lovely. We both had the beef which was brought out and hand carved beside our table accompanied by a substantial yorkshire pudding and sweet onion chutney - it has to be the most tender beef I have had in a long time. This was accompanied by veggie side dish. I couldn't face dessert as I was too full but my partner had the apple crumble.... very tasty and a large portion of it too. We had a lovely relaxing lunch and hats off the lovely staff of the K Club, from reception to waiting staff, well done, you were all so warm and welcoming and everyone with big smiles - we will be back!

Goosers Bar and Eating House
Ballina, Killaloe, Clare

Went here for a quick lunch while touring around. I went for the hamburger - which was lovely and absolutely huge - came with chips but they were not as nice... very greasy. My partner had the beer battered cod - was not that impressed. My other two diners had the irish stew and guinness stew and raved about it. Nice quick service and very reasonable.

Hoby's Restaurant
5 Main Street Kinsale, Kinsale, Cork

Went for a meal here, we didn't have a reservation but were soon seated. The restaurant was crowded, barely a table free. I had the scallops with garlic crusty topping to begin, just delicious, a great helping and I could have ate 100 of them. I had the sole as a main - so fantastic, they have it down to a fine art here. My other diners were drooling to the food as well. I finished with chocolate mousse - just perfect! I would definately recommend eating here - make sure you have a reservation!!

Lake Room at Aghadoe Heights Hotel
Lakes of Killarney, Killarney, Kerry

We stayed at this fab hotel for one night and had dinner at the Lake Restaurant. You have to go here! The views and scenery were to die for for the food was just delicious, mouthwatering!!! Some of our table had starters, a lot went for the steak, I had the scallops and fish, just beautifully done and the service was excellent. All the staff are very attentive without being in your face, they have it down to a fine art and are quite witty. Even the breakfast the next day was amazing and kudo's to the HR department at Aghadoe Heights, they have excellent staff! If you want to treat yourself, go here, it's ALL GOOD!!

Khans Balti House
51 Donnybrook Road, Donnybrook, Dublin

We went here for a bite to eat after work. Service was quick but our waitress seemed a bit aloof as if she had better things to do. Food was nice, not loads of it but enough to fill you. Toilets leave a lot to be desired.

Arc Cafe Bar
Liffey Vallley Shopping Centre, Fonthill Rd, West Dublin, Liffey Valley, Dublin

Went here for a carvery on Saturday. I was originally going for the lamb but it looked quite bad in the serving dishes so I went for the Roast beef. The beef turned out to be a bit fatty and mashed potatoes could have done with a bit more mashing. Having said that, the veggies were good and stuffing delicious. Not sure if I'd go back. €12.95.

Poulaphouca House
Blessington, Blessington, Wicklow

Went here for Sunday lunch few weeks back. The dining area could do with a touch-up but the food was lovely. We just settled for a carvery and I had the lamb shank, lovely... it just fell off the bone and was really tasty. Portions were a bit on the small side.

Mussoorie Restaurant
Above Lakes Pub, Main Street, Blessington, Wicklow

Had a lovely meal here on a Sunday afternoon. They were doing a special lunch as well, so we had that. The onion bajie's are to die for - lovely, crunchy and big. We had the Butter Chicken, very nice! All in all, a good place to eat in Blessington and good value too!

Coppinger Row
Coppinger Row, off South William St, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

I ate here with two friends yesterday evening - in two words - not impressed! We didn't have a reservation so we sat outside, that was fine. To cut a long story short - our starters were cold, I ordered steak and it was like a boot - also very cool. It took 2 hours to be served our main course! My friend couldn't eat her monkfish, also cold, so she sent it back and had my chips for her dinner! We complained and were offered a cocktail - tasted like rocket-fuel, we left it there. Not impressed with the service and food was disgraceful, will definately not be eating here again... I am not sure where all the good reviews came from but it was really bad and insult to injury, it was not cheap either. The only plus of the restaurant was that Neil Jordan must like it because we spotted him there.

The Bunratty Manor Restaurant
Bunratty, Bunratty, Clare

If you are going to Bunratty - you have to have a meal in The Bunratty Manor Hotel. What great food!!! A group of us went for dinner (we also stayed there and highly recommend it!) and we had earlier seen the fish being delivered to the restaurant so we knew it was fresh! I had the mussels - best I have had EVER and with such light tasty sauce, I just had to soak the beautiful bread in it to make the most of it. Then I had the monkfish, seabream and salmon pasta dish... beautiful! Very well presented, hot plates, discreet service and very enjoyable. I had a tiny bit of room left for the sticky toffee pudding with rum and raisin ice cream, died and went to heaven!!! This is my second time eating here and will be back again. Highly recommended, especially if you like seafood. Having said that, the black pudding starters and steak were raved about by my other diners... can't go wrong!!!!

Yamamori Noodles
71-72 South Great Georges Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Myself and a few girlfriends had dinner here and thoroughly enjoyed it. We didn't make reservations but even though the place was packed, they got us a seat. The food is just delicious!! The service is great! Atmostphere busy and young. For my main, I tried the special, can't remember what is was called but it had a bit of everything and was really good value, couldn't eat all of it by myself. Would definately return again, fresh delicious food at a good price.

Terrace Cafe
Powsercourt, Enniskerry, Powerscourt, Wicklow

Went here for lunch with my family. The hotel is beautiful and the view from the lounge area is just magnificent. We had a few glasses of wine to start of, the waitresses were very attentive and in keeping with a 5 star hotel! Food was OK, nothing special - but maybe for the price, I was expecting something a bit special I ordered fish and chips, all very nice but the mushy peas tasted wierd. Another had the club sandwich, but again nothing special. All the time, the staff were lovely. I wouldn't go for the food but to enjoy the view with a few glasses of wine, yes, I might go again.

West Wicklow House
Main st, Blessington, Wicklow

Went in here for a quick bite to eat. Normal pub grub but can recommend the beef burger - huge, with lots of onions and won't leave you hungry. There were a lot of people eating here so I reckon it's quite popular, although it was my first time here. Would defo return for another burger though!

Himalaya Tandoori
Unit 6, Village Centre, West Dublin, Clondalkin, Dublin

Had dinner here on Saturday with a few friends. The outside appearance isn't very inviting but inside is nice and warm - maybe the layout is a bit open but all clean and fresh. Food was delicious, I had onion bajee (?) it came flat rather than round but didn't take away from the taste, very nice! I had the chicken karai, never had it before, quite mild and very tasty. Everyone else were very happy with their meals - highly recommending everything. Waiters were lovely and attentive. All in all - tasty food, reasonable prices, nice staff - defo worth a visit!

Durty Nelly's
Bunratty , Bunratty, Clare

I always have to visit Durty Nellies when in Bunratty and always have a snack or two. I have always found the upstairs bar more friendly than the downstairs so this is where we headed again. I had the chowder with brown bread - very very tasty, could do with a few more 'big' bits of fish in it but other than that, couldn't really fault it. My partner had the burger with fries and the barman said the chef did too many chips and brought out another plate for us, very nice! Another one of our party had the ham and cheese toastie with chips and demolished it fairly quickly. Bar food is bar food and it's not the cheapest but it is Durty Nellies and the atmosphere is great. Go upstairs for nicer service!!

Lime Tree Restaurant @ Tulfarris Hotel & Golf Resort
Blessington lakes, Blessington, Wicklow

Had a lovely meal here at the Lime Tree Restaurant at Tulfarris House Hotel. We hda a drink at the bar beforehand and had to wait quite a while to be served. The restaureant was really busy but we were seated quickly and our order swiftly taken. I had the pate to start, delicious and my partner had the soup - was very impressed. I had the steak as my main, done to perfection with tasty mashed potatoes and veggies. My partner had the chicken and was very satisfied. I chose the cheesecake for dessert - was just OK, didn't finish it but maybe I was too full. Staff were efficient, friendly and attentive, a credit to the hotel. Food was delicious. Would definately recommend it with a walk around the lovely grounds afterwards.

Trocadero
St Andrew Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Ate here during the week with some friends - have to say, the early bird of €25 was fantastic! I had the deep fried brie to start, mouthwatering, some others had the pate and loved it. I had the chicken for main and have to say it was the most delicious chicken I have EVER tasted - definately hats off to the chef! Some others had the sea bass and the smell from this was amazing. All mains served with salad or gorgeous carrot and parsnip and creamed cabbage - all very tasty. The only gripe I would have was no choice of dessert... we were just given profiteroles, even though very nice - a choice would have been good. Service as always was excellent and as I said, the early bird (or Pre-Theatre) menu is great value... will be back. GREAT CHICKEN!

TGI Friday (St Stephens Green )
St Stephens Green, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Headed into TGI's for lunch with my Sister and her two kids. They had a lunch special on - two courses for €15 - choice of either a starter or dessert and main meal. We had the chicken wings and potato skins to start, very tasty. My Sister had the chicken pasta dish, and I had the chicken caesar salad - all delicious. The kids were well catered for with their own menu including hot dogs and burgers and fresh fruit for dessert - very healthy! They were also given crayons and colouring sheets which was great as we tucked into our fantastic cocktails. I recommend the Purple Rain and all cocktails priced at just €5 - very reasonable! Our waitress was lovely and service was quick. Worth a visit! Would go again - if even just for the cocktails!

The Thatch (Kildare)
Ballymore Eustace, Ballymore Eustace, Kildare

We went into The Thatch for something to eat and though we'd be seating in a restaurant. It turned out to be a kind of fast food cafe that has recently been renovated at the side of The Thatch. There wasn't many people here but the chip-shop type of food we got (curry fries, fish, burger etc.) were all very tasty, fresh and quickly served. The place seemed a bit strange as I was expecting something else but handy for a quick bite to eat!

Far East Restaurant
339 Ballyfermot Road, Dublin 10, Ballyfermot, Dublin

Myself, Mum and Sister had dinner here on Saturday. It's a lovely modern restaurant, nice cosy atmosphere with very pleasant decor and well spaced out tables, not too crowded. We went for the banquet meal for 3 which included gorgeous chicken and sweetcorn soup to start, then a special platter which included fantastic dry chilli prawns, fall off the bone BBQ ribs and spring rolls. For the main, we had Black Bean Praws, Chilli Beef and Duck with fried rice - all very tender and tasty! My sister and Mum finished with ice cream, and we all had coffee, couldn't fit another thing in. This is a great restaurant, always has consistenly good food, service is friendly and efficient, place is immaculate and I reckon it's the best place to eat in Ballyfermot. Top Marks!

Kelbys Bistro
Amber Springs Hotel, Wexford Rd, Gorey, Gorey, Wexford

We had a nice dinner here on Saturday. The atmosphere of the restaurant is lacking in something, cant put my finger on it but it's not very cosy. The staff are in short supply but having said that, the two girls that were there were lovely and although run off their feet, did everything quite efficiently with a smile. I had the goats cheese and beetroot starter, very tasty and my partner had the chowder, ate it all up! I order the seabass for main which they did not have but offered monkfish with mussels in return, absolutely gorgeous!! My partner had the chicken and seemed pleased enough with it. We ordered the lemon meringue and coconut/choc mouse cake for desserts. Not very impressed with these but the started and main made up for it. Not sure if I would recommend restaurant for the atmosphere or a place to linger over coffee but nice food nonetheless and very pleasant staff.

Bodhi Tree - CLOSED
Main Street, Blessington, Wicklow

After having so many lovely dinners here, we decided a few times to grab a quick take-away. Was a bit disappointed I have to say.... the food in the restaurant seemed larger portions and the Chicken Korma had a few bits of chicken in it with just a thin sauce.. was tasty but not up to their in-house quality. This wasn't just on one occasion unfortunately. I was very surprised as the food is nearly the same price for take-away as it is for sit-in. Will go for a sit-down meal in future but no more take-aways... pity!

Azzurro
Dunmore East, Dunmore East, Waterford

Myself and my Sister ate here one night during our recent break to Dunmore East. Lovely restaurant with great atmosphere and very modern/nautical feel to it. Calimari to start, very nice... I had the chicken, delicious and my Sister decided to go for the Lobster which was the 'catch of the day'. She was very impressed with it and I even tried some, very tender and tasteful. We couldn't fit dessert in so had two sambuca's at the lovely little bar area. Lovely ambience to the whole restaurant, bit on the pricey side but then again, it's Dunmore East.

The Spinnaker Bar and Restaurant (Waterford)
Lower Village, Dunmore East, Waterford City, Waterford City, Waterford

I always try to visit Dunmore East once a year and always head to the Spinnaker for dinner. We both started with the Chowder - TO DIE FOR!! very rich and full of mouthwatering fish bites... My partner had the fish and chips and the fish itself was massive, with a gorgeous light crispy batter. The catch of the day was gone so I had the surf and turf, absolutely lovely with crab claws! We were so stuffed, we didn't have room for dessert. I agree that it can be a bit pricey (around €29.90 for surf and turf) but the food is top class, the freshest!! It's nice for a treat. The pub/restaurant is very relaxed and clean, the staff are young but friendly and efficient. Well worth a visit, one of the best restaurants (if not the best!)in Dunmore East!

You have to try the Vanilla Malt - worth going just for those! Staff were nice and efficient, menu could do with updating a bit, ate here a few times and nothing seems to change on it.

Radisson BLU Hotel Letterkenny
Paddy Harte Road, Letterkenny, Donegal

We stayed here for the weekend. Nice hotel for a little break, right in the middle of the retail centre, so great for shopping. We ate in the TriBeca restaurant one of the nights. I had atlantic fishpie to start, nice but could have been hotter. My partner had soup, was happy enough with it. I had steak for main, done to perfection and mashed potato was beautiful. My partner had salmon and was raving about it. I had tiramasu for dessert, very nice and my partner had cheesecake, think he wanted the tiramasu. Nice place to eat, staff a bit stand-office and atmosphere quiet but definately try it.

The Sandwich Co
17d Forte Shopping Centre, Letterkenny, Donegal

Had a quick lunch here on Saturday. Lovely selection of fresh ingredients and about six types of chicken fillings to choose from, everyone is going to find something they like. Had a luxury cappuchino - cream and chocolate flake on top - spoil yourself! Staff quick and place was lovely and clean with a kind of starbucks feel to it. Had a caramel square to finish.... delish!! Great place to go when shopping in Letterkenny as it's small bang in the middle of everything - even if you just wanted a pick-me-up coffee.... go wan, have the caramel slice!!!

Tin Tai Chinese Restaurant,
Lower Main Street, Letterkenny, Donegal

This place reminds of possibly the first chinese restaurants in Ireland. Decor quite old but the place has a nice friendly atmosphere to it. My partner had ribs to start but wasn't impressed, they were dry and tasteless. I had the spring roll which was fine. He had the chicken curry, loved it and I had the satay, very nice too. All the staff were lovely and service was quick, good value for money. A nice place for a bite to eat but not if you are looking for something upmarket or for a special night out... but great for a quick dinner.

The Hollywood Inn
Hollywood, Hollywood, Wicklow

Visited here last Sunday for lunch. The place was packed to the rafters but our lovely waitress soon found us a table. We shared the chicken wings to start with - they were piping hot and very tasty. We both wanted the beef for our main but were told this was now off the menu, think we should go earlier than 4pm to get our choices! In the end, my partner decided on the homemade beefburger and was not disappointed. The haddock was on the board as their special at 14.95 so I decided to go for this. I don't know why I thought it would be fresh, but i didn't ask and it came deep fried. Light and crispy batter with snow white fish, tasty but I think I would have preferred the fresh fish done without any batter.. at 14.95, I didn't think I was ordering fish and chips. As always though, service excellent and restaurant very very busy - there seemed to be lots of families and kids but still a nice choice for Sunday lunch.

Rathsallagh House
Dunlavin, Dunlavin, Wicklow

Myself and my partner decided to try Rathsallagh House for their brunch/lunch on Sunday. It was priced at around €34 per person. The house is beautiful and even though we were a few minutes late, we were asked if we wanted to have a drink first. The main thing that impressed me about this place was the staff and service - couldn't have been nicer or more helpful and very welcoming. We had a drink first and were then shown into the restaurant. It was only half full and and was a buffet style lunch. Our soup was Parsnip and Ginger, following by a lovely starter selection of goats cheese (the freshest!), salmon, duck pate, pork belly terrine to name a few... lovely fresh dishes. Next came our carvery main, you could have a selection of roast beef, ham, lamb and I think they also had a fish dish and veggie dish. Lots of good food, meat done perfectly and mashed potatoes to die for - and the chef was lovely, very helpful and friendly. He came around to every table making sure everyone was happy. He even asked if we had a dog and gave us a bone to bring home - nice touch! Good to see nothing was wasted. Desserts were nice, nothing too extraordinary. Tea/Coffee was extra on the bill which was a bit steep I thought - 4.50 for a small cappucino. All in all though, a lovely lunch and the best of staff... well done! We had a walk around the gardens too after lunch... lovely place.

Myself and three girlfriends visited here. We went for the Early Bird Special which was great value at €23. I had the calamari to start, delicious and I also tasted some of the cheese roll starter... will be having that next time. Then I had the catch of the day, which was Sea Trout done absolutely lovely... others had steak and the pasta dish - all rave reviews. I had the sorbet to finish and others had the mud pie. Such great food and great value. Restaurant is cosy and elegantly decorated, staff are friendly and attentive. Will be going again very soon!

We had the prawn with salt and chilli and the chicken with salt and chillie to start - soooo tasty and nice big portions - we were starving! Then Prawn Satay and Chicken Curry for mains, all delicious and quickly served. We had coffee to finish. The food is great here and the staff are really lovely..... great chinese!.

We had Sunday lunch here. We didn't have a reservation but were seated straight away, as always, the service here is terrific. I started with the Hommus, delicious and my partner had a huge bowl of chicken wings. I had the chicken curry for main (very tasty but huge so I could not finish) and my partner had the beef which he raved about. We couldn't manage dessert but two glasses of wine finished a lovely meal. Not the cheapest place to eat but the quality and service makes me go back every time!

I've eaten here a couple of times and the food is great. Restaurant itself is nothing special, quite open but clean and staff friendly. Davy Byrnes is great for a drink. I've tried the food on a number of occasions, the open prawn sandwich, the chicken curry.... all very nice but nothing very special. This is an old favourite of mine and one I havent been to in quite a while. We went for a nice lunch one Friday afternoon. My partner had the sizzling tandoori starter and I went for the special lunch menu (very reasonable!) and my starter was samosa's.... all delicious and with that beautiful red coriander sauce they have mmmmmm. For mains, my partner had the Butter Chicken and I had the Narkhal Chicken..... I have found a new friend, was absolutely mouth-watering! We didn't have dessert because we overdid it with the best garlic naan in Dublin. A great dining experience and the staff are always so lovely, you cant help having a big belly and a big smile coming out of this restaurant!

Bonga Korean BBQ
52 Capel Street, Dublin 1, City Centre North, Dublin

We went here for a birthday celebration. The table wasn't ready on time so they gave us a complimentary karaoke room... great fun with a gang of people. They called us when the table was ready - 45 minutes late and then the food which looked great and tasted good was a little bit on the cool side as we were some of the last people to eat. The manager was very nice and on seeing this gave all 12 people in the group complimentary dinner. It didn't cost us anything and we had more karaoke afterward. Was a great night and lovely staff but don't be in a hurry to eat or go early.

Had the early bird menu here with my partner. He had the chicken wings which are just sooo delicious, you have to try them and I had the nacho's - very tasty! He had the Garlic Chicken and raved about it and I had the Garlic Prawns for my main - piping hot and delicious. They give you bread with the prawns, didn't see the point of that as it comes with chips. My partner had the Toblerone Cheesecake - always a favourite and I had the Ice Cream Basket. This was all washed down with a few cocktails - which were great value at €5 each! and a couple of cappuchino's. Service as always excellent in Luigi's, place was cold the last time i was here but temperature was nice this time around. Still a favourite place to eat!
