I visited this restaurant in April and had a fabolous meal. However this was not repeated this time. We went again last night using an offer for 3 courses and 2 sides for €50 for 2 people. We had calamari rings and pork belly for starter which were lovely. We had fish skillet and fish stew for main course. We had crispy fries and roast potatoes with bacon croutons. The latter were lovely but former were just okay. We ordered the apple and pear crumble with lemon curd and honey comb ice-cream. This was disappointing. I think this time the food lacked the attention to detail. The lemon curd was over done and it no longer had the wow factor. Also a stray frie ended up in my starter. It is a pity as the waiter and waitress are very attentive. I just hope they will raise their standards again in the food department.

We had the most wonderful meal here. The courses were so well executed and bursting with different flavours. The waiters were very attentive. For starters we had fish tacos and calamari rings and for main course we had duck leg confit and skillet of fish and we orderd crispy fires and baby roasties. We shared an apple and pear crumbel with lemon curd and ice-cream. Food was faboulous. Need i say anymore. We will definitely be back and good value too

Eden Bar and Grill
7 South William Street, Dublin 2 , City Centre South, Dublin

I dined here with my friend last night. It was not busy as it was a monday night. I really like the setting. We had a window seat . There was also some large tables for bigger groups and the place is very tastefully decorated and laid out. I loved the muriels and poems on the toliet doors. Really cool. They had brought us over some brown bread at the beginning while we were deciding our courses. We went for early bird - 3 courses for 26.50. We had a botthe of red wine called celista - cabernet temperanillo which cost 36 euros I have ducks liver parfait and my friend had a mushroom tartlet. Both were lovely. We both had salmon with chick peas, chorizo and. everything was lovely except for the chickpeas. It seemed that the chickpeas were not fully cooked. We mentioned this to the waiter . We ordered dessert - one was choclate mousse and the other was poached pear with ice-cream. The latter dessert was delicious. There were so many flavours in it. The staff were very attentive but seem to ignore our comment about undercooked chick peas. We expected us some sort of compensation for the undercooked chick peas which are are the main ingredient of the main beside the salmon! Needless to say we did not leave much of a tip because of this.

Bar Italia
26 Blooms Lane , Lower Ormond Quay, City Centre North, Italian Quarter, Dublin

We were a party of 9 who went here for lunch which was priced as 25 euros. There was a choice of 3 starters, 3 mains and 2 desserts. All were lovely and portions were good. Staff were very attentive. We had house red and white wine which were both lovely. I don't think I could fault it very much . I would definitely return here again

The Box Tree
Stepaside Village, South Dublin, Stepaside, Dublin

We dine here with a voucher that cost 30 euro for 60 euro of food last Saturday. The restaurant was nearly full and nicely laid for big or small parties The food was okay but nothing to wow you. I had pulled duck for starter. I was only okay My hubbie ordered a fish dish but only realised when it arrived that it was not gluten free. The Waiter was very helpful to offer another starter or extra sides. Unfortunately he forgot to come back to us. So my hubbie had no starter. For the main I had 5oz steak which was cooked as requested but again there was no wow about the dish. My hubbie had Cod special which he liked. We then ordered a panna cota which included a choclate mousse. We loved this and definitely the highlight of the night. I was glad my hubbie did not get a starter as we probably would have not gone for this otherwise!! Waiter was good but forgot to come back to us after the he served us the bill. We left him a nice tip which I hope he got. We order a nice rioja which cost €33..So the bill came to 35 and in effect costing us €65..good enough value but not sure i would have liked to have paid full price.

Featherblade
51 Dawson Street, Dawson Street, Dublin

We had a fabulous meal here tonight. The staff were very welcoming. ..It was a set menu with choice of 2 starters 2 mains sides and 2 desserts. If you are a meat lover you must try this place. I could not fault anything. starter was a choice of crispy chicken or crab. Mains was feather blade steak or marinated hanger and dessert was posset or chocolate tart ....everything was so well prepared and tasty . steaks were cooked exactly to our likening..The posset was absolutely beautiful ...chocolate tart was very heavy but if you love dark chocolate you would love this. Starters were very tasty too. set menu was €32...really good value and I will definitelying will be back again ..complements to chef and staff

Cortina’s Mexican Restaurant
The Pembroke District, Dundrum Town Centre, South Dublin, Dundrum, Dublin

Dined here with 2 other friends. I went for burrito which was quite big but I found it quite stoggey. The waiter was quite young. So I would excuse him for forgetting things. However the place was not busy (friday night) and once we finished our main course we were left waiting a long time for our dessert. We were only told when they arrived that the ice-cream machine was broken. These things can happen I suspose. However desserts were only just ok. I don't think I will be in a rush back due to the lack of flavour of the food

Jamie's Italian
Pembroke District, Dundrum Shopping Centre, Dublin 14 , Dundrum, Dublin

I avoided visiting this place due to the bad reviews it had got. I should have listened! Even though the food was tasty, the menu was limited and over priced. Main courses did not come with veg unless you consider lettuce as a side! so we had to order chips which were small in portion at cost of €4.50 each!! But the worse thing for me was the waitress service. We ordered wine with the meal and even after asking 2 waitresses about our wine , our main waitress just responded that the bar was making the wine!!! , she then avoided us for the rest of the meal. I was shocked with her behaviour, Our wine did arrive and only at the end of our meal. I was offered a free dessert but my husband was offered nothing! The children's dessert was just one scoop of ice-cream. This is not good enough when they charge 9.50 for children;s menu. Oh the waitress did arrive back when we were leaving for her tip!! I had booked to go here with friends the following week , So the first thing I did was to cancel the booking and I will not be in a rush back!

Seagrass of Portobello Bridge
30 South Richmond Street, Dublin 8, Portobello, Dublin

Had a lovely meal here. We both had a risotto starter with pancetta. This was lovely. I was not as keen on the main course. I had braised beef with sweet potato mash ad courgettes. The mash was more like a puree but the rest was fine. My friend had the chicken dish which she liked. We shared choc cake for dessert which was really nice. The ice cream with it was refreshing. The bill came to 50 euros for 2 starters, 2 main courses and 1 dessert. As this is BYO, it was very reasonable price

Coppinger Row
Coppinger Row, off South William St, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

My friend and I came to this restaurant last night and we had a lovely time. The food was excellant. We both had prawns with garlic and chilli for a starter. It was lovely but we had to shell them ourselves which was cumbersome and messy!. My friend had duck and I had hake for the main course. Both were excellant with loads of flavour. We shared a brownie with coconut ice-cream and that was very nice as well The waitress was very attentive, although too attentive at times. I had just finished my dinner and she removed my plate. I had the feeling that they wanted to move us on as fast as possible. I also did not like that she asked us did we want change back for the bill. If i did not have just a lovely meal service, I think I would have removed the tip for the approach she took with us. However I would recommend this restaurant as the chefs did a splendid job.

Il Segreto
13a/b Merrion Row, City Centre South, Dublin

My husband and I dined here last night on the living social deal (2 starters, 2 mains and 2 glasses of wine). We were very disappointed. After the starter arrived, the waiter did not come near us for the rest of the night!. The wait between the starter and main course was way too long. 3 couples who arrived after us had their starters eaten and we still hadn't got our main course. Then the table next to us who arrived at least 15 minutes after us got their main course before us. We got a lame excuse from the manager that they were eating pasta and my husband was having beef which was done medium rare. I hate to think how long we would be waiting if it was well done!. My starter was just ok..duck with watercress salad and some dressing..it was more salad than duck..non descript really. My husband had scallops which were nice...I had partridge which was served with a tiny portion of red cabbage and small portion of mashed potato. The partridge was nice but not enough on the plate to counteract the strong flavour. My husband had the beef. It was ok but i have tasted nicer in other places. We were left with no drinks as well between the starter and main course. This was bad value for money and DV. we did not have to pay the full price. The waiting around and arrogant attitude of the manager left a bad taste in our mouths and we will not be coming back here again and you wonder why restuarants are closing down!

Milano (Dundrum)
Dundrum Shopping Centre, Dublin 14, Dundrum, Dublin

This was very disappointing. The kids menu was 8.50 and drink was another €3 which came to €11.50. This was not good value. When I asked the waitress that the kids only wanted pizza and dessert, She told me that the kids would be charged €7 for the pizza and hence better off going for the kids menu. Their starter were little breads which were only ok and kids were not really interested in them. Their pizza was ok but their desserts were not great. They were small and they did not have all the syrups(only 3!) that they advertised. My husband had pollo chicken and there was about 3 small pieces of chicken in it. When he said it to the waitress, she said that is all you get! He returned it uneaten. I think this is the first time my husband has ever returned a meal. I had the sloppy guiesppe pizza and again the meat was so sparse on it that you could see the base. I didn't have any drink but my husband had a beer. It all came to about €70 and a hungry husband which is not good!!! This is not good value for a family and bad quality food restaurant. We will not be returning here.

Teddy's Grill & Ice-Cream Parlour
Pembroke District, Dundrum Town Centre, Dundrum, Dublin

Had a lovely meal here last night and great value too. We both had a burger - great value at €8.50 I had a chilli one which was very hot but good and my husband had one with blue cheese topping. He found the blue cheese topping over-powering but the burger was good. He had a side order of onion rings and they were good too. I thought the starter menu was limited so we didn't have anything. Husband ordered cider and they had no ice which was disappointing. We had a lovely bottle of wine and it was just €20. We had banoffi for dessert with a big blob of ice -cream. The ice cream was fabulous. The banoffi was just ok but maybe the ice - cream out shone it. I will definitely bring my kids to have some ice cream here. Waitress and staff were very attentive The bill came to €50 which is brillant value. It is a long time that we have gone out and got a good value dinner!
