Whitefriar Grill
16 Aungier Street, Dublin 2 , City Centre South, Dublin

I loved this restaurant, very friendly welcome, good service and good value. I had steak which was succulent and my sister had one of the specials- Lamb ribs- an unusual dish but absolutely melt in the mouth. Lovely little casual restaurant.

Maximilian's Taste of Italy
Superquinn Shopping Centre, Main Street, West Dublin, Blanchardstown, Dublin

This is a lovely little restaurant, really well designed- you\'d think you were in a cafe on the continent. Food and service excellent- I had Crostini al salmone for starter and chicken valdostano for mains, both delicious tho have to say the portion of chicken is getting smaller and smaller. Still remains really good value, you can get any two starters two mains and two desserts for e39.\n95. Great spot.

Le Bon Crubeen
81-82 Talbot Street, Dublin 1, City Centre North, Dublin

First visit to Bon Crubeen, I have to say first impressions weren't great, we were shown to our table but weren't given any menus or offered any drinks, I had to go to the counter and ask after ten minutes. But the food was amazing! We ate from the set e25 menu, and given the quality of the food this is pretty good value. I had the rump of lamb for mains , it was melt in the mouth, my companions had duck and venison and they were very impressed also. Would return for the food.

Brasserie Sixty6
66/67 Great South Georges Street, Dublin 2 , City Centre South, Dublin

Today myself and 3 pals decided to try the Swift Lunch. It was such good value, e10 for a whopper of a sandwich filled with their delicious rotisserie chicken and salads with a side of fab fries and a soft drink! The restaurant was busy- good atmosphere and service was great! What more could a hungry girl want! Recommended.

The Bank on College Green
20-22 College Green, City Centre South, Dublin

Sorry peterduggan, my review not posted by management, genuine customer who loves the food and the ambience of The Bank. In fact was there last weekend, have recommended it to family and friends who all also loved the place. You are entitled to your opinion but please don't question other's integrity.

Maximilians Bistro
Superquinn Shopping Centre, Dublin 15, Blanchardstown, Dublin

I have visited Maximilians twice in the past month with a group and we really like it. The food, service and warm welcome are consistently good, we have never had any complaints. And judging by the way it's always packed the word is spreading :)

The Bank on College Green
20-22 College Green, City Centre South, Dublin

Myself and a group of friends met up in the Bank for a drink with the intention of going on to a restaurant for a meal, but when we saw the plates of food that were being served we decided to stay! And we were so glad we did; the food was first class, obviously prepared by someone who takes pride in what they do it was so beautifully presented. We could find no fault, particularly recommend the roast chicken and the fish and chips. And what value, average e15 a head! Great!

Ravellos Restaurant
Clonsilla Village, Dublin 15, Clonsilla, Dublin

It appears to me from our recent visit to Ravellos that the staff have lost interest in their customers. Very long delays between courses, dirty plates left on table. no enquiries to see if everything was ok, and no smiles. At a time when restaurants should be doing all they can to hold on to their customers this is not acceptable. The Sunday early bird special was good value and the food was nice, but it would take more than good food to bring me back.

Brasserie Sixty6
66/67 Great South Georges Street, Dublin 2 , City Centre South, Dublin

Visited Brasserie 66 for the first time last Friday and was welcomed with a lovely complementary Bellini for booking through Menupages. Nice touch! I enjoyed my starter of meatballs and loved the rotisserie chicken for mains. Great value early bird menu. Service was good, the restaurant was packed, and i will be back! Great night :)

Bradys Castleknock Inn
Old Navan Road, Castleknock, Dublin

This is the best food in Blanchardstown! We used to go to Bradys the odd time for carvery and it could be hit and miss. Then they started this new menu and its gorgeous. I had Beef Strogonoff, the sauce is lovely and the meat is melt in the mouth. There's a great variety on the menu, something for every taste, and very reasonably priced. Staff are so friendly and helpful. On Sundays they have live music, not the loud variety!.This makes for a nice atmosphere. I've recommended Bradys to a few people and they've all enjoyed it. Hope to go back this week!

Ming Court Chinese Restaurant
Unit 453 Blanchardstown Shopping Centre, West Dublin, Blanchardstown, Dublin

I ate here recently with two friends, who on my recommendation, travelled from Marino. I checked out this website first to look at the menu, looked good, nice early bird. However now instead of an early bird they offer everything on the menu for half price between the hours of 5-30 and 7.30. I thought 'happy days!' The service was friendly and efficient. Atmosphere not great, I think there were only two other tables occupied in the restaurant. I was very disappointed when our mains appeared, I got a plate with half chips half curry, my friend got a plate of half rice half satay fillet beef. I was never served food in that manner in a Chinese before, always you get the rice served from a bowl and meat dish is kept warm on a heated tray on the table. I know it was half price but I'd prefer to pay full price and get it right.Won't be back til they change this. Pity.

Pichet
14/15 Trinity Street, Dublin , City Centre South, Dublin

I visited Pichet for lunch with my sister, we had been looking forward to it for ages. It was fabulous. Crispy egg to start- delicious, so perfectly runny and flavoursome. For mains I had the venison. It was so tender and beautifully presented, I enjoyed every morsel. We were glad they left the bread with us, cos we could mop up everything on the plate! Dessert was the apple tart and I don't think I have ever tasted pastry so light and buttery. So food was hundred per cent, but as you know it takes more than food to make a good restaurant, and I think Pichet has it all, the service is so attentive, its an all round great eating experience. Can't wait to share it with more friends.

Louies Bistro
20 Mountjoy Square East, Dublin 1, City Centre North, Dublin

I visited Louies on Friday evening on the recommendation of a friend and after consultation with menupages! OMG this is a fantastic place, the job they've done on the restoration is amazing. So before we sat down we were happy! Theres something for everyone on the menu and then there are specials as well. My sister had the duck and goose confit for mains; we all tucked in and gave it ten out of ten. DB and i both had the fish special, sea bream, and it was so nicely cooked, sweet and moist. Service was friendly and efficient. Louies is not a cheap place, but not overly expensive either. You get terrific food, great service in beautiful surroundings so its definitely worth it.

Jimmy Chungs
Eden Quay, City Centre North, Dublin

I ate here last night night with two friends on the recommendation of one of them. It was great! We were greeted warmly, the atmosphere was good, lots of groups, so great buzz about the room. Usually with a buffet the food can be not quite hot enough, but everything was piping hot with a great selection of dishes. It was help yourself to as much food as you wanted and we did! What great value~ we staggered out into the stormy night full in tummy but not light of wallet as the cost was e13.90 each! Looking forwarsd to our next visit already.

Chez K's Restaurant at the Fitzwilton
The Fitzwilton Hotel, Bridge Street, Waterford City, Waterford

We stayed at the Fitzwilton last weekend and ate there twice, once the bar food and the other in the restaurant. The bar food was really good, I had grilled chicken on sourdough with chunky fries and my husband had the fish and chips. Both meals were tasty and filling and great value, my meal costing only E9! The next night we ate in the restaurant. It was a Sunday night and quiet, only 3 couples in the room and all placed side by side in a corner so close we could hear each others conversations. The tables at the other side of the room were set for breakfast so they couldn't be used! We ate from the set menu as we had booked a package deal. The food was fine, my starter of bacon and cabbage potato cake was tasty but very salty and I didn't cop til later that the promised accompanyment of scotch egg was missing. Mains of pork loin turned out to be a pork chop. A little disappointing. Bar food wins!

Millstone, A Dublin Restaurant
39 Dame Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

I visited the Millstone for the first time on Friday having read the recommendation on menupages. On entering it was nice to be greeted by live music, set a nice atmosphere. Service was friendly and quite efficient. The menu is very extensive, theres enough choice to suit most tastes from steaks to pizzas (some with weird toppings- Jalfrezi pizza?) Anyway we had a lovely mixed tapas platter to start which was unusual and very tasty served with nice warm bread. Steaks and loin of lamb made up the mains, all perfectly cooked and nicely presented. Only quibble was something I hate, having to pay for potatoes and veg to complete the main course. So to the price of fillet steak surf and turf e33-95 you have to add e3-50 for chips. You could also eat much more reasonably. We were seated beside the open kitchen and had a great view of the food coming out. Although the restaurant was busy there was great calm and great teamwork at the pass. Very nice dining experience, just wish they'd include the chips with the steak!

Fallon and Byrne
11-17 Exchequer Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

We had a lovely meal here last Friday for the brothers birthday. We got a warm welcome and great service from our waiter. He even supplied a birthday candle in the delicious carrot cake! Its a lovely setting and has a real Parisian feel; food, service and atmosphere really good. We even booked a table for Mothers Day before we left!

Knightsbrook Hotel
Dublin Road, Trim, Trim, Meath

We stayed in the Knightsbrook Hotel last weekend, and the hotel and spa were fabulous, however we were a little disappointed with the restaurant. On the night it was very busy and the only time slot we could get was 9pm which is a little late for my liking, but not a problem really. Service was excellent and the restaurant itself is beautiful- high ceilings with lovely furnishings. My starter of goats cheese strudel was the highlight of the meal, it was served like a spring roll of filo pastry with goats cheese and bacon in, really tasty but could have done with a bigger portion. While having this the man at the next table was sending his steak back twice! I dont know if this had any bearing on my meal but when my sea bass came out it was luke warm.I hadn't the heart to send the manager back to the kitchen a third time! My dining companions were also a little disappointed with their fillet steaks, not hot enough and not medium rare as requested. All in all have had better for half the price!

Franzini's
Frenchs Lane, Trim, Meath

We visited Franzinis last Friday while staying in the Trim area. It was my first visit. I liked everything about it, the atmosphere, food, service were all first class. The smokies for starter were really good, smoked fish in a lovely cheesy sauce. I think it should be served with bread to mop up the sauce. When I asked for some I got it with a smile in an instant. Beautiful fresh salmon for mains served with garlic potatoes..aaah. It was so good I went back on Sunday!

Aurora Asian Cuisine
Unit 5, Block C , Tyrrelstown Town Centre, Dublin 15, Tyrrelstown, Dublin

This is where Menupages really comes into its own- it was a special birthday so we wanted to go somewhere different, but also wanted to be sure we wouldn't be disappointed. I looked up menupages for ideas in our locality, Dublin 15, and found a little gem! I hadn't heard of Aurora, but based on the excellent reviews we decided to give it a try. We were warmly greeted by friendly staff, and as I had expected on a cold Monday in January, the restaurant was almost empty giving not much of a buzzy atmosphere, not their fault! The food was really excellent, from the old reliables like ribs and wings to my chicken terriaki. There was quite a delay between starters and main course, but I'd rather wait for excellent food than be presented quickly with something not so good. At dessert time all the waiters brought out birthday cake, which I had supplied, gathered round the table and sang Happy Birthday, much to the embarrassment (and delight) of my daughter. With a bottle of wine, 4 minerals, starters, mains, and teas, our bill came to e117, which was excellent value for a wonderful evening. Next time I'll try it at the weekend.

The Bank on College Green
20-22 College Green, City Centre South, Dublin

I had a meal and a drink here with my sister on Thursday before going to the Olympia. The place was really buzzing at 6pm, we were lucky to get a seat! I had the half roast chicken and chips and my sister had the stew. These were the nicest chips I've eaten in a long time, perfect. The stew was also delicious, tender meat and so tasty. A couple of glasses of wine rounded it off very nicely. I must also mention the waiter/barman, he was so pleasant and chatty it made for an all round great experience.

The Winding Stair Restaurant
40 Lower Ormond Quay, Dublin 1 , City Centre North, Dublin

It's taken me a while to write this review, hard to work up the enthusiasm as I was so disappointed. My friends starter of potted crab and my pate looked the same, both in little ramekins out of the fridge. As another reviewer said, very canteen like. My main was rump of lamb. It was so ordinary, some roast lamb, 2 new potatoes and some peas. The other main at the table was belly of pork. It was served with potato- that was it! Oh and apple sauce, lots of it. With one dessert between us and wine it worked out about €60 a head.

La Caverna Restaurant & Wine Bar
12 Fownes Street, Dublin 2, City Centre, Temple Bar, Dublin

Myself and the hubby were looking for somewhere to eat last night in town when a girl approached us and handed us a card for La Caverna offering a ten per cent discount. We had a look at the menu outside and thought why not? We were really glad we did, the food was really lovely. He had the seafood chowder for starters which was nicely presented with mussels and plenty of seafood, and the double burger, really tasty with lovely seasoning and spices. I had bruschetta and the fillet steak. It was the best fillet I'd had in a long time, lovely flavour and so tender. Accompanied by garlic potatoes, pepper sauce and salad, it was an all round great meal. We had a carafe of the house white which was really nice and that brought the bill to e62! Thats not counting the ten per cent discount, so I thought that was really good value for money. Service was good, very pleasant waiter, so I'll be back!
