Canal Bank Cafe
146 Upper Leeson Street, Dublin 4, Ballsbridge, Dublin

We were lucky to get a table here on Saturday night. It's been a while since we dined here but it was just as great as I remembered. Wings to start, mussels and a cheese burger to follow washed down with a delicious Pouilly-Fumé. Very friendly staff. Seating is quite close together so it can seem a little loud but I think it was just the atmosphere of a bank holiday saturday

Coppinger Row
Coppinger Row, off South William St, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

When staying in Dublin we always have to pay this place a visit. Our favourite place for brunch ever!! My husband had the Moroccan eggs and meatball dish washed down with a Fred & Ginger cocktail, I had the steak sandwich with a death in the afternoon cocktail..delish. This place is great. Friendly service with a really great atmosphere

Etto Merrion Row
18 Merrion Row, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

We had An absoutely superb meal on Friday night. I had asparagus to start with followed by nettle gnocchi, my husband had eel (first time I tasted eel and it was beautiful) followed by the best mussels I have ever tasted. We shared a bitter chocolate and cherry desert along with a cheese board. Wonderful! Service was excellent, warm and friendly Such a lovely dining experience.

Coppinger Row
Coppinger Row, off South William St, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Coppinger Row is our go to restauran for brunch / late lunch when we stay in dublin. A pre meal cocktail is a must. They change the cocktail menu recently but it's not a problem finding something to like. Crab cakes to start followed by rib eye and a shared cheese board. Delicious. Very good wine recommendation by our waitress, it was lovely to sit with good food/wine and watch the world go by on a wet bank holiday Saturday. Great buzz in this restaurent with very friendly staff

Dax Restaurant
23 Upper Pembroke Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Myself and my husband dined here on Friday evening and it was amazing. We decided to go for the taster menu with wine. Out of this world. Each course bursting with flavour accompanied by a beautiful wine. The staff were excellent, attentive but unobtrusive. It's expensive but worth the treat. The restaurent was full on a bank holiday Friday. Great atmosphere

Toscana City Centre
3 Cork Hill, Dame Street (opposite Dublin Castle), Dublin City Centre, Dublin 2, Temple Bar, Dublin

Dined with husband, brother in law and partner. Very busy restaurent with a great atmosphere. Food was fresh, delicious and full of flavour. Goats cheese bruschetta for two along with mixed meat platter, two excellent pasta dishes two pizzas..all followed by gorgeous desert. This place is excellent and would recommend in a heart beat

Coppinger Row
Coppinger Row, off South William St, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Took my husband here for a birthday lunch on Saturday. It was extremely busy with a 40 minute wait for a table. Not a problem, we sat at the bar and enjoyed a cocktail or two. Cocktails are pricy so we limited ourselves to two! We started our meal with the anti pasti to share..delicious. My husband had the venison and I had the steak..both perfect..finished off with bread and butter pudding like no other I have ever tasted! Good atmosphere, good wine, good food. It is pricy and service can be a little slow due to how busy they are but worth it!

Dobbins Restaurant
15 Stephen Lane, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Had the pleasure of eating here after Ireland's win over Australia! A table of 5 we were a joyous lot and the atmosphere was electric and the restaurent was full of green jerseys. Went with the Al la cart, goats cheese to start followed by rib eye... It was so tasty and flavoursome and the rib eye melted in your mouth. My hubby had hamhock which was Devine and also followed with ribeye. The cheese board and desert wine finished off a fabulous meal and a great day

Patrick Guilbaud
21 Upper Merrion Street, Dublin, City Centre South, Dublin

Fine dining in luxury! Celebrated a friends milestone birthday with lunch last month and the food is exceptional. John Dory has never tasted so good and as I'm not one for sweet desert, the cheese board is a must. When you include wine this makes for an expensive lunch but it is a Michelin star restaurant and fine dining at its best.

Ristorante Rinuccini Restaurant

This restaurant is a must if you are in Kilkenny. I cannot recommend this enough, food, wine and service first class. My fourth visit to this restaurant and it didn't disappoint.

Donelli's
Market Square, Wicklow Town, Wicklow

Myself and my husband had a late afternoon lunch/dinner on Saturday and frankly as always it was excellent. It had been a while since we dined here but it was as good as I remembered. Seafood chowder and bruschetta to start with us both choosing the burger for mains. Plum tart and a chocolate pecan pied finished off a very tasty meal. A free glass of wine or soft drink was on offer so we choose the wine! Service is excellent and its great value for money. We won't wait so long till our next visit

Yo Thai (Mount Merrion)
Kielys Of Mount Merrion, Deerpark Road, South Co. Dublin, Mount Merrion, Dublin

Had a great meal and good entertainment in yo Thai, merrion last night. Husband picked the venue as it was his birthday. Unfortunately it was very vey quiet so was lacking in atmosphere ...but the staff and food made up for it

The Bridge Tavern
Bridge Street, Wicklow Town, Wicklow

Decided to try this out on the advice of friends so my self and my husband gave it a go. It was very busy and while it had a nice atmosphere you still knew you were in a putb. We enjoyed the meal but it all felt a bit rushed. The food was good as was the service. Will try it again but will just try the bar food.

Hugo's
6 Merrion Row, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Six of us enjoyed a fantastic meal on a busy Saturday night. We had a great table and the service was second to none! Had the shared platter for a starter which was a bit strange as I would usually go for the platter at the end of a meal but it was not an option! Had a tast of the mushroom and the fish starter which was also very good. We all had a great night and as it was full the atmosphere was amazing. Its is pricy but very enjoyable.

profile_review

MacNean House & Restaurant
Main Street, Blacklion, Cavan

This was an amazing dining experience! Neven came out before dinner to greet his diners and came to our table as one of our party has a food allergy and he made a substitution. We opted for the taster menu with wine and it was out of this world. The staff were excellent and very informative explaining each dish as it came out. Breakfast the next morning was delicious. Its a special occasion night out and not cheap but it was worth it.

profile_review

Bertie's Bistro
Prospect House, Church Street, Wicklow Town, Wicklow Town, Wicklow

Decided to try out Wick low’s newest restaurant for our anniversary at the end of April. What a pleasant surprise. The atmosphere was great and the service was second to none. Initially I thought it on the pricy side but it is very good value for money. Looking forward to our next visit and trying out the cheese board.

Black 'n Blue Grill - Closed
Church Street, Wicklow Town, Wicklow

I eat here with my husband back in February after trying many times to get a table. I figured as it was so hard to get in the food must be great. Unfortunately we were both disappointed. The menu is uninspiring and quite basic. I believe the owners are part of Bates restaurant which is a great restaurant. Overall the service was slow and it was a disappointing visit. I wont be in a hurry to go back. Its a shame as Wicklow seems to be suffering badly during these times and going out for a meal should be something to look forward to but now our choice of restaurants are limited.

profile_review

Pacinos
18 Suffolk Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Our group of 6 met up here on saturday for a bit to eat and a few drinks and we had a ball. The food is good and the portion sizes are massive! Its excellent value for money and the service was very friendly and attentive.

L'Ecrivain Restaurant
109a Lower Baggot Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

I was treated to a stay over in Dublin and a dining experience that was out of this world. I have wanted to go to this restaurant for so long and it really didn’t disappoint. We had the tasting menu with wine. The setting, atmosphere and service was second to none, very polite and friendly. The food was exceptional. . I tasted and enjoyed food I would normally shy away from. As it was the tasting menu I was not expecting normal portions but I did think they were a little on the small side.. that would be my only gripe. For us it really was a treat and one that we both thoroughly enjoyed.

Herbstreet
Hanover Quay, Dublin 2 , Grand Canal Dock, Dublin

Stayed with friends in Dublin and decided to try here for brunch. What a find! The food is delicious. The eggs florentine are a must... pancakes with salmon and creme fresh were a hit along with herbstreet brunch, freshly squeezed orange just and really good coffee. The service was excellent and very friendly. Already looking forward to the next visit.. it really is a must if you in the area.

Ristorante Morsiani - Closed
1 Fitzwilliam Square, Wicklow Town, Wicklow

I have been to this restaurant before for lunch and it was delicious. We have just been for dinner and it really was a fantastic night out. The food is exceptional and the service is second to none! Highly recommended is Il Pasticcio Di Mia Nonna, L'Antipasto Diplomatico and then Il Giambonetto Di Filetto Di Mango and Il Rotolo Di Mia Nonna. The restaurant has a lovely warm atmosphere and it was very busy which is a very good sign considering the current climate. I am looking forward to working my way through the menu!!

A work colleague finished up on friday and 4 of us headed here for lunch. It was my first time and I will most definately be back. Overall the service was good and it had a lovely relaxed atmosphere and was excellent value for money.

Marco Pierre White Steakhouse & Grill
51 Dawson Street, Dublin 2, Dawson Street, Dublin

This place had a great atmosphere, lovely staff and gorgeous food. We had our christmas night out last night and I have to admit the food was excellent however i do think its expensive and i dont like the fact that you are practically sitting on top of the person next to you.. I would go back but it will be a while.

Just had dinner here and frankly it was fantastic. I had the goats cheese salad to start and my husband had the seafood chowder and both were great and for mains i had the salmon and my husband had the monkfish... frankly both were excelent and i am sorry we hadent visited this gold mine sooner. The service was excelent and non intrusive and frankly the bill was a bonus at the end of the night... two starters, two mains and a bottle of white for €57 euros... where does that happen...a lovely haven in recession times...

profile_review

Lemongrass (Liffey Valley)
Arc Bar, Liffey Valley Centre, West Dublin, Lucan, Dublin

Have just been to this restaurant and I really wasnt all that impressed. The service was excellent and very friendly staff but the food was only OK. The 3 of us ordered the beef and while it was tender it was rather bland. The rice was greasy and the veg was lacking in flavour and texture. The restaurant was empty and was lacking in atmosphere and frankly I felt the food was overpriced for what we had. Would not be in a rush to go back.

profile_review

PÓL O’D Restaurant
Main Street, Ballyconnell, County Cavan, Ballyconnell, Cavan

This is the second time I have eaten in this restaurant and its excellent. Again it was a family occasion and 13 of us had starters, mains and desert. The food is first rate, the service is warm and friendly and the atmosphere is fun. I would recommend this place to anyone, It is dublin prices in the country but well worth it. All fresh and local produce if your in the area it well worth a visit.

I honestly think this is the best chinese I have ever had.. It is excellent. I have eaten in the restaurant and have had take out several times when visiting with my mom. Only down side with take out is check your order. On a couple of occasions a dish was left behind. My mom will only eat chinese out of this restaurant. Excellent

Cavan Crystal Hotel
Dublin Road, Cavan Town, Cavan

Took my mom there for sunday lunch. they only had a one o clock sitting and when we arrived we were the first there so the place was lacking in atmosphere but it soon livened up. Mom had the salmon and said it was lovely, I had the turkey which was very tasty and my husband had the lamb and its all served in a bowl which is a bit odd regardless of what you order. While the portions are huge i did find it overpirced, It was enjoyable but I would not be rushing back.

Maia Restaurant
47 Shelbourne Road, Dublin 4, Ballsbridge, Dublin

Had lunch there with a work colleague recently. Would recommend the chowder but I had fish & chips. Fish was soggy (not sure what type of batter was on) and far too many fries. I also think its very overpriced. However there was a nice atmosphere and I will return in the evening as I imagine it would be very chilled place to go for a glass of wine & wings.

ely gastro bar
Grand Canal Square, (Next to the Bord Gais Energy Theatre), Dublin 2, Grand Canal Dock, Dublin

I love Ely Wine Bar on Ely Place, however our last visit was not so great but as Ely HQ is just around the corner from us we decided to give it a try. Had a very enjoyable night. Food was excellent and even though it’s a much bigger dining area it didn’t loose its charm. Finished off a perfect meal with a cocktail and strolled home. Excellent value. Great for couples and groups alike. Can get a bit loud but its an enjoyable experience overall.

ely winebar
22 Ely Place, (Just off St. Stephen’s Green), Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

I love Ely but was disappointed on our last visit. Went there last month with some friends on a Saturday night and it was very busy.. Waited ages for our table and the food, which I remembered as great, was only so so on this occasion. I think that Saturday nights are just to busy. But would definitely go back just not on a Saturday!
