Reviewed 20th September 2011 ( visited 28th August 2011 )I dined here with three other last month and I have to say we all agreed the food was fantastic! The atmosphere and service were ver good also. Since dining here I have also had a take away twice, both times it was lovely. I would certainly recommend this restaurant for a romantic meal or for larger groups.

Reviewed 03rd January 2012 ( visited 02nd January 2012 )I have to say after all I heard about this restaurant I was very disappointed! We had the chicken wings to start which were swimming in a bowl of grease and we both had the sirloin steak for main which was over- cooked and also very greasy. The service was appalling and it was impossible to get anyones attention. The waitress spilt water all over my partners lap and the table and simply walked off without apologising or wiping the table. I will definitely not be returning.

We dined here for the first time Saturday night and the place was buzzing! The food was really delicous and the house Merlot was very good! I have mixed feelings on the service, the staff were friendly however we were never approached and always had to seek their attention. We were left with our plates in front of us after we had finished for half and hour until I located a dessert menu myself. This however would not put me off and I will definitely be back again.

I have dined here on a number of occasions lately so I though I better write a review! Firstly, to cover the bar food, the food here is really delicious and the portions are always very good. The only thing is the chips....they always taste quite strange and I generally would avoid them but that is only a minor point. The restaurant is excellent, my most recent visit was for my Dad's birthday. The food was lovely...my only point here was the fillet steaks were over done. However the pork and duck was very good. Over the course of dining here we have been pleasantly surprised when served an appetizer which consisted of a little of cup of the most delicious soup and a sorbet after our starters. We were not served the soup on our last visit and I have to say I was a little disappointed as I was really looking forward to it! All in all though I would definitely recommend both the restaurant and the bar.

I dined here with a group of friends on NYE for the first time. To start I had the foccacia bread and selection of dips. I was quite disappointed as the foccacia turned out to be a brown sliced pan toasted, the dips were nice though. My partner had the butternut squash which he enjoyed and my friends ordered the selection of cured meats which also came with sliced brown bread. I had the burger which was very nice, my friends had various dishes including the lamb tagine and the goats cheese salad. The portions were very generous and everyone seemed happy. The wine was priced quite reasonably too. I have to say the atmosphere was great and the staff were lovely and attentive. I expected the be crammed into a corner as it was NYE, however all of the tables are quite well spaced so even though the restaurant was full you didn't feel as though you were having dinner with the people beside you! Overall I was pleased and would recommend to a friend.

I dined here for the first time on Saturday with my boyfriend for his birthday. I had booked quite a few weeks in advance to ensure a reservation and had requested a nice private table, however we were seated between to other couples. That aside, I had the goats cheese salad and my boyfriend had the mozzarella risotto balls. Both starters were lovely, my boyfriend even said it was one of the nicest starters he had ever tasted. We both had the fillet steak which was cook very well. Portion sizes were good and overall the presentation was impressive. I will certainly return to this restaurant.

A group of 11 of us dined here Saturday night. The food was very good and I could find no fault with it and everyone was happy with it. The service however was awful, it was extremely slow and we had to wait an hour between courses. The waiters/ waitresses were very unfriendly and at no point communicated with us as to why there was such a delay, even after we enquired. We were just finishing our coffee when we were told they needed the table, we couldn't believe it considering how slow the service was. It seemed to me the attitude was they didn't care as they were already guaranteed their 12.5% service charge. For this reason I won't be returning as there as many other lovely restaurants in the city which good food and service.

We usually dine at a different FXB but decided to visit this restaurant for a change. The service was excellant, the food was delicious and the steak was cooked to perfection. As it is Christmas party season it was booked out and the staff were rushed of there feet, but credit to them they did a great job. With regards to the menu, I found the starters to be very limited compared to Crow street, neither of us eat fish so when you exclude the fish starters I think the only choices were soup, kidneys or mozerella salad. This was fine but I had really been looking forward to the goats cheese crouton. That wasn't really an issue for us though. I will definitely be back.

The atmosphere and the food was fantastic. The service left a lot to be desired, we had to ask for our drinks numerous times and was in general very slow.

I dine at this restaurant quite a bit as it is usually very good. I dined here a few nights ago for my boyfriends birthday along with his parents. The service was as always excellent and the food was quite good. Two of us had the goats cheese crouton which was very tasty and the two men had the ribs which were ok but there was too much soya in the sause. For main we all had the medallions, this is one of my favourite meals, however if I were to be picky I would say the portion was a little smaller than usual however it still satisfied. Also, we found the sauce to be too salty. The restaurant does a fantastic birthday promotion which consists of a personalised birthday cake, which was delicious, and a complementary drink for the whole party. Our waiter was great and made such a lovely effort singing along and taking photos. Overall, another great experience at Fxb, I must also mention the value is great too.
Il Corvo Restaurant
98-100 Upper Drumcondra Road, Dublin 9 , Drumcondra, Dublin
Third time unlucky! This was our third time at this restaurant and another mediocre experience. I had the bruschetta to start which was terrible, two pieces of soggy bread, far too much olive oil. My partner had the garlic bread which was ok. For main I had penne arribiate, the pasta was under cooked and the sauce was so watery it sat at the bottom of the bowl rather than coat the pasta. My partner had the beef risotto, i can tell you it was not risotto. It was soggy rice and beef piled onto a plate. The presentation was awful. If you must eat here I would recommend pizza as I don't think they could get that wrong. Considering the quality of the food it was way over priced.

We visited this restaurant on Saturday night. Usually I would describe this as my favourite place to eat however something was lacking this time! Our starters were quite scrappy and not well presented. There was far too much onion in the salad and in the potatoe skins. We both had fillet steak(medallions) for our main and we were both really disappointed. It was extremely tough and certainly not what you would expect for a €26(approx) fillet. I hope this was just a once off and I will most likely be back again to give it another chance. I would hate to see a restaurant which has always had such high standards slip for the sake of a higher profit margin.
