We ate here last saturday night and it was a dreadful experience, the quality of the food really wasnt great, i had eaten here many times before but on this night there were quite a few christmas parties in and hence the food lacked. I had the stuffed mushrooms and they were not great, my husband had the anti pasti which was ok, and we both had the steak and the garlic potatoes, both were disappointing, Wont be going back for at least not for a night where it will be busy and the food is not great as a result..

Had a date night here last Friday and it was fabulous! We had the prawns and the pudding as starters, they were yummy, I had the fillet steak and it was cooked to perfection and my hubby had the pork. had a beautiful bottle of red which was a perfect match with my steak, Profiteroles to finish, An absolute perfect night in every way, the atmosphere was perfect, the staff were lovely, the food was in a league of its own, Cant wait to return.. Be sure to visit if you can - worth every cent :) Keep up the great work guys!!

Honestly cannot fault this restaurant - have eaten here many times and every time it jst gets better, We had the INSALATA DE L'ANGOLO to start and it was FAB I had a pasta dish for my main and it was good but my husband had the SPIGOLA (seabass ) for his main and it was OMG a little bit of magic and i aint a person for fish but i would order this dish, truely fabulous, Def worth a visit and value for money is definatly to be had here,

Bridge Bar and Bistro
The Malting Tower,, Grand Canal Quay, Dublin, Grand Canal Dock, Dublin

Ate here for an anniversary meal - and to have say not sure was a little disappointed, We had a reservation for 7.30 which was fine but we were only ppl there so there was no atmopshere, The service was good but then again as we were the only customers surely one could expect no less. Things turned a little sour when my husband who has a nut allergy got his dessert and to find nuts in it, when we pointed it out, the staff did not seem to be to bothered but we had to leave and in fear we would end up in the hospital from taking an reaction. This did put a dampner on the evening, Doubt i would go back, think there are just as nice places to eat more central to town

The staff are always very welcoming and accommodating, and the atmosphere as a resuslt is a nice one, have had many dishes here, have had chicken fried rice, have tasted the duck in crab meat which was very good but to top it all for me has been the chicken chow mein - FAB!! Super, Keep up the good work guys,

The Gin Palace
Middle Abbey Street, City Centre North, Dublin

Ate here using a voucher after the Ireland v France match, i had the Pollo Al Ajillo (Garlic marinated chicken fillet reduced in a creamy white wine sauce and served with freshly baked bread) for starter, it was far too heavy to enjoy and i thought a little bland, I proceeded to have the 8oz burger for main and be in no doubt it was tasteless. My husband had the Duck spring rolls and half cooked ckn. The Duck spring rolls were overpowered by the accompyaning sauce and the chicken was as dry as if it was cooked for days, not at all an enjoyable meal, The only thing that made it bearable was that we had a voucher so it was cheap ent, wont be eating here again

The Huntsman Inn
College Road, Galway City, Galway

called in here on sunday morning looking for a bite of tasty food - was so very very disappointed! there was a party of 4 and amoungst us we had the roast of lamb which the potatoes and veg were cold. salmon - which was very bland fishpie - which consisted of more potaotes than anything else and chicken gougons and chips - pretty tasteless also, the food here seems to have gone down hill as has the service, a table of 4 we waited at least 20 minutes before our dishes were brought down to us, then only 2 arrived, 5 minutes later one more and then about 2 minutes later the final one, And we were handed a bill of €70 - surely there has to be better value eateries out there....???

a group of ten ate here on Saturday last - i ordered the Mediterranean Chicken and it was very disappointing and bland and tasteless, left most of it, i also got to taste the Beef Lasagne which was totally unflavored also, don't think it even had salt or pepper added during cooking, the fish or chips also wasn't great as the batter wasn't seasoned properly and the hot beef sandwich was in fact cold. All in all would i return - absolutely not - very disappointing!!

Wow... For main i had the LINGUINE MARINARA which was super & my hsuband had the RIGATONI, POLLO, PANCETTA, FUNGHI which was super as well - Sent back two empty plates to the kitchen. Staff are amazing, Food amazing, Amazing atmosphere.. Cannot fault this restaurant - think its my favourite place to go :)

Mexico to Rome
23 East Essex Street, Dublin 2, City Centre, Temple Bar, Dublin

Myself and my husband ate here last saturday - we had a deal for 2 cocktails, 2 starters, 2 mains and 2 desserts. We had the Dragon Slayer for cocktail which was yummy and had for starter i had the Nachos Grande - Truely DEVINE, and my husband had Gambas Al Ajillo which were lovely, could not fault either dish. For main we both had Burritos, i had chicken and my husband had the beef. I felt the chicken had been cooked a few times as it was stringy texture so wasnt great so the main dish was quite a let down as was the dessert when compared to the starter. Not sure I would go back to be honest, Nice atmosphere, OK service but jst the main and dessert seemed to be lacking effort. Might go back and get he Nachos tho and have the large portion and jst leave it at that.

Il Segreto

Ate here on a Saturday night for a birthday. We got a lovely welcome and sat at the bar and had a lovely glass of wine before we were shown to our table, The atmosphere was lovely, really romantic and warm and cosy. I had the Scallops to start which were nice but were overpowered i thought by the pancetta which it was served. I had the Grilled Rib of Beef for my main and was very disappointed as it was very fatty which made it pretty much inedible for me. Also while we sat and ate our meal a party of ten people sat beside us so the standard of service for us dropped some what and had to ask twice for the steak knife, and side of chips for my partner and also just generally felt ignored. The restaurant was uncomfortably warm also. All in all generally i am in no rush back

Myself and my husband went here last night for dinner. We did not have a reservation but got a seat no problem. I ordered the chicken and ham crostini and i was given a garlic bread with cheese so that to start was a bit disappointing, my husband had the tomato and cheese brushetta and it was yummy, i ordered the Pollo Emilliana for main, the chicken was smuthered in the pink sauce which was in actual fact jst a tomato based sauce, All in all was a disappointing visit and pretty sure we wont be returning..

Reeves Restaurant
172 Templeogue Road, Dublin 6w, Templeogue, Dublin

I went here for dinner on Saturday night last and had the 3 course early bird for €25, i had the brie and Salmon parcels for starter and it was nice and tasty, i had the steak for main which was cooked to perfection but i be honest it was not very well flavoured so was a bit disappointed with it, i finished with the apple tart and ice cream which was nice and tasty. The restaurant had a lovely buzz about the place but it was uncomfortably hot.. The staff were friendly and very helpful but all in all we probably had about 6 different people serving us which i thought was a bit strange.. Not sure i would come back and if i would i doubt i would order the steak again..

Kanum Thai
16 Orwell Rd, Dublin 4, Rathgar, Dublin

ate here recently and i had the Grat Doo Moo Yang (Slow-baked pork ribs, crispy fried with sweet chili sauce) for starters but this was very disappointing as there was more fat on the pork ribs than there was meat and for main i had singapore noodles but i found them very bland and tasteless, the venue was not overly clean we had to clean the table before sat down and we were not impressed. Wont be returning!

The Church Cafe Bar & Restaurant

Ate here last night - i had the burger, it was the only thing that appealed to me if i be honest and it was tasty - nothing fab but it was ok. The service was ok but thought the venue lacked atmosphere even tho there was a number of ppl around. Not sure if i would go back.. .

KennysVesey Arms

Ate here last night and i had the sirloin steak which to be honest wasnt great. There was so much excess fat on it that it was quite off putting, it was served with mushrooms and half a cherry tomoate and some chips with Jack Daniels pepper sauce. The Jack Daniels pepper sauce was probably the nicest part of the dish but to me it was jst pepper sauce. There was a nice warm atmosphere which was nice but i felt the staff were a little intrusive and were constantly asking if all was ok, nice venue pity about the food. Dont think i will be back

Ate here Sat nyt last, we had no reservation but thought we would chance our luck and see, luckly enf we got a table. I ordered the chicken and prawn Jambalaya and it was yummy and loads in it. My partner had the Yakisoba and he was well impressed. The only negative thing i would say about here is that table are a little too close for comfort. I could joined in with either conversations on my left or on my right..

Ate here last night for dinner with some friends - i had the thai beef salad to start and i had the rump steak for main and all were done beautifully. The service was good and it was quite enjoyable. Probably the only draw back is that i asked for my main to be done medium and it was well done. Food was still tasty and i would return.

Popped in here for a quick bite to eat one evening on my ways home and i oped for the duck spring rolls, they arrived promptly but the plum sauce they came with was a little over powering i felt. Would eat here again but not order them, Staff always very friendly. Nice spot for a drink too

Myself and my partner ate here for dinner one night after work, we had no reservation but had no problem in getting a seat. I had the bbq ribs to start and a chicken chow mein, which to be honest was only average - i did not think it was great. F.X. BUCKLEY Steakhouse Crow Street
2 Crow Street, Dublin 2, City Centre, Temple Bar, Dublin

Ate here last night for with my fiancée for special anniversary meal We arrived with no booking but they managed to get us a seat which was great. The restaurant was busy but had a nice atmosphere. I had the fish cakes for starter which were ok but I have tasted better, my partner had the bbq ribs which to be honest were not great, they were served in a Soy & honey glaze sauce which made them over salty & as a result not very tasty. I had the sirloin for my main which again was only ok, it was not really seasoned so was a little disappointed. And all side orders was extra which I thought was a little dis appointing. My partner had the Medallions of Fillet of Beef for his main which were again unseasoned & a little disappointing. For dessert I had an hazelnut cake with pistaschio ice cream – it was different... My partner had the creme bruele which was again only ok The restaurant was quite busy - and there were 2 girls on all night but the managed to cope ok, All in all I don’t think we would return to this restaurant, we have had nicer experiences in other FXB’s.

Came here with a friend for a bite to eat. And we both had the Brunch box menu. I had the fishcakes and they ere fab - would have loved them as a full meal - really tasty and not over powered with Potatoes as some fishcakes can be.. i had the BLT with chips which was also tasty and it was on real tasty poppy seed bread - which jst made it even tastier. and the and orange juice to drink.. All this for 12euros - a great bargain i thought. the restaurant itself was lovely i thought a very comfortable setting and we were not rushed at all, nor did we hahve a prior booking. i would def go back here - worht the visit..

My fiancee took me here last Friday night as a surprise and it really was. We had not eaten here before but i had heard good things and I was not disappointed. The atmosphere was lovely, it was warm and the lights were dim so it felt very romantic we thought. We were lucky enough to get a table in the corner so that was nice too. For starter I had the Prawns and they were fab, my fiancee had the seared scallops and this was fab too, really could not fault it, For mains we both ordered T bone steak and it was amazing but it was huge I guess we will know for next time.. :) This came with chips, mashed potato and onion rings. Truely fab. The staff were great and nothing seemed like too much. All in all we left there very satisfied and happy, We were not rushed or anything and the restaurant was extremely busy as well. Our bill came to 93 before we had any drinks but considering the food we were served it was worth every penny, Will def go back - looking forward to it already.. But next time i am sure i would choose a smaller piece of meat..

Burgh Quay, City Centre South, Dublin

myself and a friend ate here last night - there was a bit of a crowd in with the match on but there was no atmosphere. We took a look at the menu and were not really impressed but we decided we would chance it - i got Q Burger which to be honest fast food would have been tastier and half the price. the burger came with chips and a side salad but our vinegar had a fly in the bottle which to be honest once i seen that i did not really fancy the burger. When we tried to pay for our food the staff were slow at coming to take our money and rude when they did come.. Wont be going back. Try fast food or anywhere before here..

Gourmet Burger Kitchen (GBK Liffey Valley)
Unit 40B, Liffey Valley Shopping Centre, West Dublin, Liffey Valley, Dublin

Ate here last night with some friends and it was fine, None of us had been here before so it was first for all of us.. We got a seat no problem and the staff were very nice and it was a nice relaxed atmosphere - we sat and chatted for a while before we ordered and there was no rush on either the staff or us. When we did order our food came quickly enf and was tasty. I had the chicken breast burger but i took of the relish as i really did not think it worked at all apart from that it was nice and tasty. My friend had the cheese burger and she said it was lovely and was well impressed and also there was a salad had too and a chips to share. All in all not a bad night out - food was fine, not over filling but was tasty - would not be rushing back but would not rule it out as a no go either.. Give it a go anyways and if you get there before 6 you can get the deal, burger, chips and drink for €10, not a bad price but unfortunately we jst missed the meal deal with about 15 mins..

Trocadero
St Andrew Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Ate here some weeks ago with some friends and while it was a nice experience i dont think I would come back again. I had the Salmon for starter which was ok but nothing special - I have had nicer. Some of my friends had the Brie which they said the sauce over powered the dish while another had the roast beetroot which she said it was lovely - Most of us had the steak for main and while it was tasty we thought it was a bit expensive.. Also for the duration of our visit the staff must have sang happy birthday about 15 times which to be honest did get quite irritating after a while.. 15 times come on.. But all in all thought it was a nice venue and you can stay and relax - your not been rushed out the door but was nice but would put this one down to been a bit on the pricy side - Recession and all that..

Koh
6-7 Jervis Street, Millennium Walkway, Dublin 1, City Centre, Italian Quarter, Dublin

Myself and my fiancee had dinner here last Thursday evening for what we hoped to be a romantic evening but alas this was not the case.. When we arrived we were told they had no record of our reservation and so asked us to sit at the cocktail bar and wait till a table came free, we had a wait for about half an hour which was fine. When we were seated we were not told of the specials – which was a bit of a let down and the seat next to us were offered the specials of the day and I think if we had heard the specials in time we would probably have ordered something from the list. I had the King Scallops to start but alas nothing amazing, and then had the Singapore bbq pork and prawn for main. Tho it was tasty I have had better.. We left here feeling very unsatisfied and honestly did not feel like we had just eaten. Between our starter and main our cutlery was not replaced so we were given our main and not sure what we were expected to eat it with. The tables were quite cramped here also, this is not the kind of place you could not have a romantic meal. This place also lacks atmosphere. Don’t see us going back. It is quite unfortunate as the décor this place has to offer is pretty chic and classy as are its cocktails.

Joels Restaurant
Newlands Cross, Naas Road, West Dublin, Clondalkin, Dublin

I ate here last night with one of the girls and we had no reservation but got a seat no problem We opted for the early bird so I had garlic mushrooms to start, turkey and ham for main and apple pie for dessert and followed by tea or coffee My garlic mushrooms were served in a cereal bowl with some garlic mayo on the side, I though it was a little odd and that perhaps to serve them on a side plate would have looked more attractive with perhaps a little side salad but none the less they were tasty. There was quite a wait between our starter and main which was a little disappointing I thought, but when I got it I could not fault it, very nice and tasty and the apple pie was yummy. All in all the early bird was €19.95 which I thought was a super deal of the amount of food we had and the quality. Nice place for a bit of food but I wouldn’t say its for special occasions.. Just for a casual bite

Ate here last night with some friends. Its such a cute little place and the staff are lovely too. I had the Funghi All Aglio for starter and they were yum and had the Penne Cacciatora for main. The portions are hugh and the service is pretty good too. The place was very busy and there was a good atmosphere. It was my first time here but i dont think it will be my last. So many things on the menu to choose from. One of my friends had the meatballs for starter and they were fantastic. Unfortunatley had no room for desert but perhaps next time.. Definately worth a visit..

It was a really nice place, nice and intimate, staff were lovely and very friendly some more so than others.. had the Warm Chicken & Bacon Salad Accompanied With Rustic Potatoes and Tossed in our House Dressing to start, was tasty very nice but i seen no bacon in it. Had the steak for main and it was cooked to perfection, dead tasty. Stuffed so we skipped on the dessert. They have a very good wine menu here and reasonably priced.. Will go back again..

Yum yum yum. Tasty pub grub, reasonably priced and good service.

Food here is only ok, had the garlic mushrooms to start which were only ok, had the steak which was yum - fantastic and then the apple crumble for dessert, the apple crumble was not great as the crumble was in fact porridge oats so was not very good - all in all don't think we will be back - it was handy for a Sunday evening and saved us from cooking but don't think the food is great. Lemongrass (Liffey Valley)
Arc Bar, Liffey Valley Centre, West Dublin, Lucan, Dublin

Ate here last night with some friends and was not impressed with the food to be honest, I had the Koh Sa Mui Baby Back Ribs to start but there was lemongrass barbeque sauce on them so found this dis-appointing. I had the Singapore Noodles as a main, this also was very disappointing, as there was maybe 3 prawns and very little chicken and no pork in the dish never mind any vegetables that I could see so there was no vegetables in the dish from what i could see or else they were cooked to a pulp.. The dish was very sweet also which i did not expect so alas did not finish and left half the dish behind me, finished with a hot chocolate which was probably the best part of the evening. All in all was very dis-appointed with the experience and dont think i will be rushing back again.. The docor here was very nice and relaxing and we were not rushed at all but alas the food did not impress me..

A group of us ate here at the weekend and it was a very different experience but a good experience. The salad bar was nice and the choice you had for the main was great - it had everything and was all very tasty. It helps if you know your spices and flavours, its also great the idea of creating your own dish and going as many times as you like, the service was good and the atmosphere. It was my first time there and I would definately like to go back.. and looking forward to it already..

It really was a memorable experience and one which we really enjoyed.. The staff in this restaurant are great and are always at hand should you want for anything, the Decor is fantastic and generally the restaurant is quite relaxed and chilled out. In recent weeks tho the prices have gone up and the food stayed the same, Have had the Wings here and they are nice, though very hot, and also expensive... for the price you pay you do not get alot, the ribs also are tasty and well there burgers are just that burgers, tasty but not mind blowing. It is quite close to where we live so its handy but would not be making a special trip for a special occasion, perhaps en route to the cinema or something like that...

Johnnie Fox's Pub
Glencullen, Dublin Mountains, Glencullen, Dublin

Myself and my boyfriend called in here today for lunch as it has a great reputation and neither of us had been there before so we thought we would try it out but i am sure i will not be going back. I had the Fox’s Tagliatelle and was so very dis appointed. Basically all i got was a bowl of pasta and some sauce I asked for extra salmon when ordering and when the waitress gave me my dish she told me that there was extra salmon on it, there was a few specs of salmon but not a proper bite so I asked for perhaps some extra salmon and she bought me some more sauce and told me there was salmon it in, but alas I could not find it. My boyfriend had the Seafood Jambalaya and also was disappointed as there was very little in the way of seafood - there was more sauce than anything else on the plate. Sorry guys we will not back..

Shirleys Palace

Ate here today for lunch - had the 4 in 1 to go and was not impressed. The chips were not fully cooked and as for the chicken it was cut in hugh pieces and was not tasty. Do not think I will be going back here again, i was here a few weeks ago for the buffet and was not very impressed then either..

Have eaten here on a few occasions and stayed here too, it is a lovely place to go for food and stay on for a few drinks after, the decor is nice and bright and the staff are so friendly and efficient, they have a good wine list also. Great place and definitely worth a visit, will definitely be going back.

China Castle
58/59 Middle Abbey Street, City Centre North, Dublin

Popped in here last night jst before we went in to a gig in the olympia jst for something quick and easy. As with it been a buffet we had a few different dishes, we had the prawn toast which was in fairness very dry unfortunately, tasted the pork meatballs which i didn't particularly enjoy to be honest. Tasted the Chicken curry and also the chicken sweet and sour and both of these were tasty especially the fried rice. The buffet is only €9 for all you can eat which is great value and you can taste different dishes tho it is slightly limited but all the food is kept hot which is good. It was handy for where it was and where we were but don't think i would be planning on becoming a regular..

Ate here for our anniversary and the service was great, and the atmosphere was very relaxed. We had the gumbo and it was very tasty, also had the potato skins which I was a bit disappointed as they were cold but then I had the steak and it was lovely, as the cocktails were tasty as was the wine, all in all it was a very nice and memorable experience and defo going back..

Pregos
Unit 2 Balloyowen Castle Shopping Centre, West Dublin, Lucan, Dublin

Had a take out from here on Friday night and i had my regular Penne Pollo Funghi and my fiancee had a pizza and a portion of wings. My pasta dish did not taste like it usually did - it was not up to standard at all, was a bit dis-appointed but also after finding hairs in my pasta dish it was put in the bin - Could not eat it, it just turned my stomach. My fiancee had the wings and pizza, the wings were OK but had no great flavour and the pizza slightly burnt so it was not a very good experience. The following day both of us were dying with stomach cramps and all we can put it down to was the food we got from Pregos. Cant see us returning..

Charlies Four

Call in here about once every 10 days or so and have the chicken and hot garlic sauce or the beef and hot garlic sauce, and it is the most amazing food. I have tried other restaurants for the same dish but am never impressed so always have to go to town. So disappointing that we have to go to town for it but never disappointed. Great food, and value for money and guaranteed that we will be back.
