Opium
26 Wexford St, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

I have eaten here a few times and never been disappointed with the food or service. This time we went with two teenagers, one of which found her dish on the spicy side and without being asked the manager recognised this and got her a fresh meal of the same dish but just plain - can not fault his attentiveness and service or it turned out his taste in rum! Food wise the dishes are fresh and flavoursome and at an extremely affordable price. There are some reviews here complaining about the noise, while it is not the quietest place but it does all add the atmosphere and enjoyment - I would highly recommend.

The Pig's Ear
4 Nassau Street, Dublin, City Centre South, Dublin

Superb meal again here, great atmosphere for a Monday evening, impeccable service and food flawless! After starters we had the Slow Cooked Pigs Belly and the Tartare of Venison - extremely hard to pick a favourite as both were perfectly cooked and a beautiful mix of flavours. Highly recommend.

Salmon Leap Inn
Leixlip Road, Leixlip, Kildare

Delighted this placed has opened again, went to try lunch with a friend on a Saturday afternoon expecting 'pub grub', to our delight the food was fabulous - I ordered chicken with baby new potatoes, chorizo and scallion and it was cooked to perfection, my friend just had the soup with hearty brown bread, staff friendly and helpful - Dublin prices so marked down for value but well worth it for the food. The place has be renovated and looks amazing with more of a family vibe in the daytime, highly recommend a try.

Opium
26 Wexford St, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Normally a big fan of the food here but dined on a Sunday evening and I was quite disappointed with the Beef Rendang, it was quite chewy and hard to eat - normally it is falling apart it is so tender. My friends did enjoy their Lemon Grass Chicken and Red Curry Duck so overall happy enough with the dining experience. Staff were attentive but not overbearing and nice atmosphere so worth a try if you haven't been.

Port House Pintxo
12 Eustace Street, Dublin 2, Temple Bar, Dublin

Always impressed with this restaurant, although it can be a bit dark when you first arrive it has a fabulous atmosphere and a great selection on the menu, prices are reasonable and staff always helpful. Went as a party of four and we were not too hungry so only ordered two tapas each which was plenty and left room for the delicious dessert - custard pie and cinnamon creme brûlée that we were suppose to share but nearly fought over!!

Jo'Burger - Town
Jo'Burger Town, 4/5 Castle Market, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

A friend has tried to take me to this restaurant on a number of occasion but I thought it was another burger joint and have resisted - I had been totally missing out it seems! So you get to chose the meat, the filling and can have with out any bread at all - I had the Lamb with harris a mint aioli & rocket, we got a side of fries and ruby coleslaw and it was completely delicious.. not a bun in sight! Was really impressed with menu and food and will definitely be back, highly recommend.

Wrights Findlater Howth Restaurant
Findlater House, North Co. Dublin, Howth, Dublin

We were out for a drive through Howth and stopped here for dinner without booking, it was a bit quiet for mid week and one floor open but nice restaurant with plenty of light and good atmosphere, only marked down as so quiet. Between us we ordered the Seafood Linguine, Traditional Fish and Chips, Steak and Dublin Bay Scampi from the Bar Menu - all was delicious and the linguine was one of the best we had tasted! Friendly staff and affordable prices - would definitely go again!

The Bull & Castle and F.X. Buckley Steakhouse
5-7 Lord Edward Street, Christchurch, Dublin 8, City Centre South, Dublin

Had two friends from Japan who wanted a good steak but local - we were not disappointed. The restaurant was busy so great atmosphere but we were seated quickly. Great menu and really enjoyed the food and wine, it is a bit expensive but they do know their steak! Would recommend.

Chameleon Restaurant
1 Lower Fownes Street, Dublin 2 , City Centre, Temple Bar, Dublin

Chameleon is a delightful restaurant with amazing (and addictive) Indonesian food, had yet another great night here with girlfriends. We ordered a couple of different Rist-tafels to share which was the perfect way to try everything. Special mention has to be made to the Babi Ketjap - confit of pork belly - just delicious! Great service and pleasant surprise when the bill arrived, would highly recommend.

Opium
26 Wexford St, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Went for a late lunch for two from work, just missed the rush after the lunch crowd so atmosphere was quiet but really nice interior and comfy feeling to the place. We ordered the Vietnamese Salad and Beef Rendang, both were delicious and plenty.. we had to get take away on the salad! great staff and really reasonably priced, will be back and highly recommend!

La Mere Zou
22 St Stephens Green, Dublin , City Centre South, Dublin

Popped in for the lunch menu and it was extremely good value. Myself and friend both had the duck ballotine to start and the chargrilled bavette steak for mains with a shared cheese platter for dessert, food was exquisite and at €24 for three courses slightly more expensive than some but totally worth it. Great atmosphere and with exceptional staff - attentive as our glasses were never empty but we hardly noticed their presence!

Salamanca
1 St Andrews Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Stopped here for lunch for 4, we were the first there so it was quiet enough but got more lively by the time we left. The food was nice and great value with the lunch deal, one of our orders was messed up but it was sorted quickly and with the minimum of fuss, would recommend.

The Pig's Ear
4 Nassau Street, Dublin, City Centre South, Dublin

Love this restaurant but have only ever eaten here with one other person so sit on the first level normally, this time there were six of us so we sat upstairs and I was pleasantly surprised, it is definitely a slightly louder dining experience than the formal first floor but great atmosphere. The food as always was delicious, we tried everything from the venison to the chicken and it was all cooked to perfection, the service was attentive but never intrusive and we were even more plesently surprised when the bill came as it was very reasonable. Highly recommend.

Brasserie Sixty6
66/67 Great South Georges Street, Dublin 2 , City Centre South, Dublin

Had a swift menu lunch deal through Menupages so thought I'd try here for lunch as am a fan of the dinner menu. I had the lemon and garlic chicken breast and my friend got the pork and leek sausage, we were not disappointed it was tasty and really well cooked with the mash being the highlight! Staff friendly and even though we were the first in there was still a good atmosphere. Lost points on value as although they are great with the deals and offers they have increased their wine prices and if I didn't have a voucher would definitely think twice before going again.

Keshk Cafe Restaurant
71 Mespil Road, Dublin 4, Ballsbridge, Dublin

Decided to try this restaurant on recommendation from a friend, booked for 8pm but we got out of work early so called to ask to come in for 7 and they were more than happy to accomodate. The atmosphere was good even for so early, it is obviously a popular place. The staff were extremely helpful and patient, we ordered the hummus to start then the grilled lamb and tiger prawns for mains, all was extremely tasty and more than enough served. The bill was the best part, with you being able to bring your own wine you just pay for the food and even with a tip we got change from a fifty! HIghly recommend and will definitely be returning.

Brasserie Sixty6
66/67 Great South Georges Street, Dublin 2 , City Centre South, Dublin

I am a regular here so same review as previously written as standards have not declined even with the huge amount of offers they do on Menu Pages. It was busy for a Tuesday evening so nice atmosphere, friendly staff as always, ordered two fillet steaks but asked for a varient on the sides and this was accommodated with no problem at all.. overall great value and a good night, highly recommend!

Brasserie Sixty6
66/67 Great South Georges Street, Dublin 2 , City Centre South, Dublin

Had to avail of the Menupages offer again and stopped here for steaks, they were again cooked to perfection however the potato came out cold and uncooked.. very surprised as usually never disappointed. It was replaced quickly with an alternative but thats the reason for the 4 instead of 5 on the food scale. Would still recommend however as I think this was an exception.

Brasserie Sixty6
66/67 Great South Georges Street, Dublin 2 , City Centre South, Dublin

Love this restaurant, the place is always busy and has a good atmosphere, staff are friendly and polite. Three of us all ordered fillet steaks and they were cooked to perfection, they are a bit pricey (hence a half mark off value) but with a Menupages voucher it becomes a great deal. Highly recommend.

The Pig's Ear

I am a fan of The Pig's Ear, the food is always perfection, staff are friendly and informative and it never disappoints - a must for anyone who hasn't experienced yet!

Wicklow Heather
Laragh, Glendalough, Wicklow

Went to Glendalough to enjoy the delightful weather and happened past this place for lunch, it was busy which is always a good sign and had a really nice outdoor seating area. The staff were attentive but not over bearing and we ordered two Blue Ridge Chickens off the lunch menu, they were simply delicious and filling, great find and would go back if ever in the area! Highly recommend.

Brasserie 7
The Capel Building, Capel Street, Dublin 1, City Centre North, Dublin

Tried this as I am such a fan of Brasserie Sixty6 but I have to note they are not related in any way. We went on a Saturday and were quite early so were only one of two tables seated, that is why I have marked the atmosphere down but I am sure it would improve if we had booked later. The service was friendly and attentive although they did bring the wrong wine and we were asked the same question from a number of people within a short space of time which got a tad annoying. The food however did made up for this as it was delicious and cooked to perfection. We both had the Cashel Blue Cheese & Onion Tart for starter and I was delighted how tasty and light it was, we then both had fillet steaks and they were done as requested. Overall great food and nice enough place but nothing special enough to make me a regular.

Olesya's Wine Bar
18 Exchequer Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Went here after work on a Saturday just for wine and a cheeseboard. It was quite busy but managed to get a table, service is brilliant the guys are very knowledgeable about the extensive wine list and the food very tasty, ended up also getting the dips and bread which came out pipping hot! There was no issues not eating and the only minus is the windows do stay open so can get a bit chilly but other than that would highly recommend.

Boulevard Cafe
27 Exchequer Street, Dublin 2 , City Centre South, Dublin

Only second visit and as per last time the welcome and friendliness of the staff make this place special in Dublin, I was however disappointed with the mains this visit. The starters - two had prawns one the pork belly were devine but we all chose the duck for main and it was extremely over cooked in all cases. Still a pleasant visit but would think twice before going again.

Boulevard Cafe
27 Exchequer Street, Dublin 2 , City Centre South, Dublin

Superb find! Finished work late on a Friday evening and after being turned away from a number of fully booked establishments - with more attitude than aptitude, we stumbled upon The Boulevard Cafe. Staff were all extremely competent and friendly but never over bearing, we ordered the Pork Belly and Chicken Supreme both of which were excellent. We also had two bottles of wine and the best part of the evening was the bill - it seems good service, great ambiance and first class food really is affordable! Would highly recommend to anyone and we will definitely be back!

Dunne And Crescenzi (South Frederick Street)
14-16 South Frederick Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

First time visit here and overall was impressed, they were bust but we never felt rushed. The food is all fresh produce and authentic Italian, portion sizes were great and did leave us filled although the menu has so many delights we would have like to have been there grazing for the day and try more of what is on offer! My friend ordered a salad which was incredible flavorsome, I had the Ravioli which appeared small when it arrived but I still struggled to finish, overall will definitely return.

Brasserie Sixty6
66/67 Great South Georges Street, Dublin 2 , City Centre South, Dublin

Am a regular visitor here and Brasserie Sixty6 never disappoints, we ordered two fillet steaks and wine and the whole experience was a delight. We did visit earlier in the evening so was a little quiet but the place is so well lit it still has a great atmosphere, would highly recommend.

Salamanca Fusion
38 - 40 Parliament Street, City Centre South, Dublin

Intended to go to the Salamanca in St Andrews Street with three friends but they were booked out so we though this would be a similar food experience. Firstly it is a completely different restaurant than the other place with different menu and atmosphere. I ordered a main of chicken in lemongrass and coconut which was delicious but the rice was slightly over cooked. The rest of my party ordered tapas which they all enjoyed immensely. The staff were helpful and friendly if a little hard to find at times, with wine and beer the bill still came in under €100 so all in all good value and where it lacks on the finesse of the other Salamanca it makes up for in price.

BANG Restaurant & Bar
11 Merrion Row, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Popped in on the off chance of a table late on Saturday night with a friend, got one for just over an hour but it was still plenty of time for us to sample the fabulous Duck they do, probably should have got a side dish too as portions are not huge but it was well cooked and well worth it as usual. I would also recommend the Toblerone cocktail we decided on instead of dessert.. delicious! Service was great if a bit rushed but overall a good dining experience and will be returning.

Fallon and Byrne
11-17 Exchequer Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Had heard a lot of good things about this restaurant and I wasn't disappointed! Dined with two friends mid week and the atmosphere was buzzing, waiters attentive without crowding and food exceptional. We all had different starters, the asian pork belly salad was delicious and just the right amount, the caesar was a bit bland but it was just a cesar salad so was what was expected and no more. For mains we all ordered the steak and it was cooked to perfection. We ordered off the pre-theatre menu so it was great value, only minor negative was the main tables run across the floor with no break so you are close the the person next to you if seated there but I will definitely be returning, highly recommended!

Yamamori Izakaya
12/13 South Great Georges Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Met here for a business lunch and was pleasantly surprised, the decor was lovely without being over done and the staff were friendly and attentive with out being over bearing. I ordered the slow roast beef salad which was delicious and had a hint of wasabi in the sauce. The portions were slightly on the small side but I did feel I got value for money and would highly recommend.

Matt The Thresher Seafood Bar and Grill
31/31 Lower Pembroke Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Popped in here last minute and we were surprised to be seated straight away (we had tried two other restaurants and they were fully booked) we found out why after the dinner. After ordering just mains from an extremely nice and helpful waitress we waited an hour for them to arrive... on a quiet evening this was not a great start. I ordered a medium fillet steak which came well done.. the waitress had told us the delay was the steak being cooked incorrectly so I was expecting great things... I did not get them! My friend ordered the Hake, this was dry with no sauce and no real flavor and the potatoes as the side were definitely the end of the bag! The staff were well aware of our disappointment and made no effort to compensate us or even really encourage us to return. When leaving the Maitre d' apologized (without any prompting) when I said the steak was overcooked for the second time but at that stage I was too hungry to wait another hour he said "as a steak eater myself I would have kept sending it back until I was happy".. I decided he was not worth engaging in conversation any further and will just not be returning in a hurry!

Camile Thai South Circular Road
5 Dolphins Barn, South Dublin, South Circular, Dublin

Ordered take away with friends - I had the Beef Pad Prik Haeng which was delicious with a lovely soy sauce, very lean meat and generous portions. The Massaman curry was also particularly tasty, although not exactly cheap the food is well worth it. Would highly recommend and will definitely order again!

profile_review

Burritos & Blues
2 Wexford Street, Dublin 2 , City Centre South, Dublin

Stopped here for lunch on Thursday, ended up getting take away. Had never eaten at one of these Mexicans and was worried take away would not be as nice.. I was extremely pleasantly surprised! Ordered a Quesadilla with chicken and the lot and got number 4 sauce, I find a lot of places that offer a spice range still tends to be a bit on the weak side.. was delicious and extremely spicy, loved it! As well as being tasty the portions were huge and it is affordable so I would totally recommend.

profile_review

Saba
26-28 Clarendon Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Ate here on Saturday evening and due to the late booking we were seated in the bar area, having eaten here a number of times I was presently surprised and preferred the bar as it was more informal and less open than the main restaurant. The food as usual was superb and service with a smile, would highly recommend.

Konkan Indian Restaurant Clanbrassil Street
46 Upper Clanbrassil Street, Near Harolds Cross Bridge, Portobello, Dublin

GOT DELIVERY ONLY. Ordered take away and was extremely pleasantly surprised, food was hot and ordered within the allotted time. Meat was unbelievably tender and lean and there were the usual delicious extras, will definitely be ordering again.

Brasserie Sixty6
66/67 Great South Georges Street, Dublin 2 , City Centre South, Dublin

Went with a Menupages voucher for a buy one get one free main course. Place was very chrismassy with a few parties, the decor and xmas music subtly in the background. I ordered the fillet steak as usual and wasn't disappointed it was cooked perfectly! My friend had the shaved crunchy vegetable salad which to be honest was very bland but she was provided with dressing on request and the waiter whom was more than helpful offered to change it as he realised she wasn't happy with her choice. Also got a free cocktail so worked out a very enjoyable and affordable evening and I would still highly recommend!

Chai Yo
100 Lower Baggot street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Had heard great things about this restaurant so decided to try it out with a group of girlfriends. We went on a Saturday night and they had a guy with a guitar playing live music, I had thought this would be a bit cheesy but it actually really worked, it gave the place a more lively atmosphere and was really comfortable to chat and eat. The Service was attentive and helpful and all requests were accommodated. The only slight negative was the food, while being nice enough was not up to the standard I had been led to believe, however saying this the bill was extremely reasonable so over all a pleasant evening.

Salamanca
1 St Andrews Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Came in really late as I was passing with a friend, it was extremely busy but we were seated at the bar and didn't have to wait too long for a table. The atmosphere was great, really lively and the staff very friendly. food arrived quickly. I ordered the beef fillet with red wine sauce, they were out of fillet but kindly did the same dish with rib steak and it was delicious. We also got gambas king prawns, fried new baby potatoes with chorizo & paprika and a mixed salad, between the four dished there was more than enough for the two of us. Very reasonably priced and would still highly recommend.

Eddie Rockets (Wexford Street)
Wexford Street, Dublin 2 , City Centre South, Dublin

Went with friends and children for an easy dinner, we were met with an extremely rude waitress who obviously didn't want to be there. After rushing our order she then started clearing our table before we were even finished. on the plus side the bouncer at the door was friendly and gave the children colouring pencils. Food was ok, what you'd expect from a take-away. Will only use again if no other choice.
