As always 14A was superb, we had the value menu and as were celebrating a birthday they allowed us bring in a birthday cake so we had a glass of wine instead of dessert, all for €20. Great food, buzzing atmosphere and overall well worth a visit!

Cafe Serendipity
30 Palace View, Western Road, Cork, Cork City, Cork

This is an excellent restaurant with a very different menu, great value at Euro 23 for two course and Euro 26 for three course. The starter on special was smoked salmon and leek gratin with nam bread which was absolutely stunning, hake for mains and baileys croissant for dessert, and a musician playing violin in the backgroung added to the atmosphere. Absolutely stunning and would well recommend a visit!

14A
French Church Street, Cork City, Cork

As always suberb, the Euro 20.00 Value Menu is fantastic value, added a supplement of Euro 3.50 for a sirloin steak which was stunning, bruschetta for starter was stunning and the chocolate fudge cake for dessert, couldn't recommend highly enough!

Scoozi!
2-5 Winthrop Lane, Winthrop Street, Cork, Cork City, Cork

Scoozi is normally a great favourite of mine but on this occasion we had a few issues, a pizza totally undercooked, but they immediately took it back and replaced it, we were given the wrong description of the fish special so 3 of us ended up not liking it, it was very dry and not nice at all but again they looked after us and didn't charge for desserts and coffees and for that reason we will be back again, it was just a one off as we have never had that problem before but they did look after us very well!

14A
French Church Street, Cork City, Cork

14A is a small intimate restaurant in the heart of Cork City. We went for the Value Menu and at €20.00 for 3 courses, it is excellent value for money. This includes steaks at no supplement, the ladies fillet steak is to be recommended, bruschetta to start and chocolate fudge cake to finish, the best meal I have had in Cork in a long time!

Man Friday Restaurant
Scilly, Kinsale, Cork

Man Friday is definitely to be recommended, it never fails to produce the best. The homemade brown bread is the best anywhere, the breaded mussels are stunning and the Fish Pie gorgeous, desserts while they taste lovely are basic on the early bird menu but for €25.00 it is excellent value for money.

Amicus
Paul Street, Cork City, Cork

As usual the food in Amicus was excellent and at €21.95 for the early bird menu, it was excellent value, the nachos and fish cakes and chocolate fudge cake are to be recommended, will be back!

Currans Restaurant
Adelaide Street, Cork City, Cork

We visited Currans on a Friday night and that meant no early bird menu available at 8pm but it was still good value for money, the waitress could not have been more helpful, even offering to take back the desserts if people did not like them, when they couldn't make their minds up. The pizza was really good and the chocolate fudge cake was great and really moist. The new decor is lovely and really changes the place for the better, overall excellent!

Soho Bar and Restaurant
77 Grand Parade, Cork City, Cork

We had the Brunch which was full Irish breakfast, the food was gorgeous and very good value for money at 9.95 each, the service was excellent and the staff very friendly. Overall a very good experience

Strasbourg Goose
17/18 French Church Street, Cork City, Cork

Strasbourg Goose is excellent value for money at Euro 20.00 for a 3 course dinner menu, the chorizo sausage starter and fish cake starter were lovely, the Rib Eye Steak was stunning as was the Monkfish and the potato gratin were really good . The desserts were nice but nothing special. Coffee was topped up if required which is always a nice touch and especially for the price you are paying. Overall excellent value for money, very good food and great atmosphere with very friendly staff. Will be back!

Ginos Pizzas
7 Winthrop Street Cork, Cork City, Cork

I took my 10 year old niece to Ginos recently as it is her favourite place to eat, we had garlic bread, pizza, milkshakes and ice cream and as usual the food was very good. It is excellent value for money as pizzas can be quite expensive elsewhere. Would highly reccommend for lunch or late afternoon.

Prime @ Clancys
15-16 Princes st Cork, Cork City, Cork

We went to Clancys as a group of 7 and it was so noisy we could not talk. The restaurant is downstairs in the bar and the place was packed and people were sitting around us drinking so no comfort as you would normally get in a restaurant. Food is very American in style, chips served with every dish and burgers etc on the menu, food tasted good but the servings were huge and there was so much food went back on the plates it was a shame. Price was good also but wouldn't go back.

Jacobs on the Mall
30A South Mall, Cork City, Cork

Jacobs on the Mall was lovely as usual, great Christmas atmosphere and a real buzz there. The early bird menu at Euro 27.00 + 10% service charge is excellent value. The only downside is the portions are as always a little small but the taste makes up for that. Very friendly and efficient staff.

Hardwood Restaurant
31 Popes Quay, Cork City, Cork

My second visit in a few weeks, again went for the earlybird menu, food in Hardwood is absolutely stunning and fantastic value, as it was a Thursday night it was quiet but we didn't mind. The fish pie to start and the white chocolate/raspberry cheesecake were both stunning. This restaurant is well worth a visit and we will be back again soon!
