Brother Hubbard
153 capel st, Dublin 1, City Centre North, Dublin

I got the pulled pork and beans which was just OK, and not good value for €10 The other meal was the smoked salmon on bread + salad, which I'd had before. it's excellent. The service here is always excellent and they are very friendly and helpful. The new space next door is lacking any kind of ambience and feels like a school canteen. Not recommended. The original place remains a classic. Choose where you sit and what you eat and you will be happy. Great coffee also

Cafe Brazil
13 Crown Alley, Dublin 2, City Centre, Temple Bar, Dublin

Food is pretty good and very cheap. Feijoada is tasty ! One waitress for the entire place. Zero atmosphere Cheap and cheerful. Go if you want some nice Brazilian food but skip it if you are looking for any kind of restaurant/food experience. Not recommended for a date/party/client meal.

Dada Restaurant
45 South William Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

The portions are huge. The set menu with roast lamb was enough for two people. Well-laid out relaxed restaurant with nice options for dinner. OK wine list. Go with an appetite or but one dish.

FIRE Restaurant and Lounge
Mansion House, Dawson Street, Dublin 2, Dawson Street, Dublin

We went very early in the evening for the pre-theatre menu. Service was one of the best I've ever experienced. The waitress was very attentive and very professional The tiger prawns were excelent, but could have been a larger portion. The steak was cooked to perfection. It's expensive but for an occasion or just for a quick drink/tapa I'd highly recommend it. It looks pretentious but the overall feeling is much warmer.

Pyg Restaurant
Powerscourt Townhouse Centre, South William Street, Dublin 2 , City Centre South, Dublin

Nice cosy place with lots of little alcoves and seperate areas to sit, relax and dine. The waitstaff were very nice. The food was better value than I imagined it would be but still pricey for tapas I would say. The only thing that bothered me was that the DJ was sound-checking and kept blasting the music for a few seconds, then changing the speakers, etc. (It was early in the evening) I would go again. Lovely looking place.

Bobo's Gourmet Burgers (Dame St)
50-51 Dame St, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Burger was overcooked for my liking. Tasty flavours, but not a whole lot of a meal. No fries included. Good but not great.

Yamamori Noodles
71-72 South Great Georges Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Monday night, nice ambience. The waiters/hosts are very good and welcoming. Ordered beef tataki, which although it's very tasty is very small. And 9 euros. Sushi is pretty good but not excelent. Overall it was an expensive monday night casual meal. The food was good, but I might not make a repeat visit.
