Reviewed 01st July 2007 ( visited 01st July 2007 )I can’t believe this little gem is still such a well kept secret! Relaxed with such and interesting Menu perfect hideaway for lunch. Staff are also very friendly and knowledgeable about the free from menu and organic foods.
Mao Restaurant (Dun Laoghaire)
The Pavillion, South Co, Dublin, Dun Laoghaire, Dublin, Area Code: South Co. Dublin
Reviewed 30th March 2007 ( visited 30th March 2007 )Fast friendly and good food. I recommend the prawn honey sticks ! Yum ! Great menu with half portions in a nice open clean room. The staff are very friendly and I like to see the chefs busy in the kitchen. Would recommend this place to anyone. Especially great for lunch..
Jewel in the Crown (Ballsbridge)
41-43 Shelbourne Road, Dublin 4, Ballsbridge, Dublin
Love this place but wish they would do it up! The christams beads are a bit dated! Food is excellent; service is excellent and not at all expensive. It never seems very busy which I find strange, as this kind of value can’t be found in Ballsbridge. They also encourage you to take home leftovers?! Boyfriend loves that!
21 Duke Street, City Centre South, Dublin
I was so disappointed, not sure what I was expecting. Heard their dinners (seafood especially) were second to none. I wasn’t happy with the food at all. Staff were nice as was atmosphere.
80 Aungier Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin
FOOD WAS OKAY. Staff made up for long service. Apparently its new.. Not much to recommend.
Oliver St John Gogartys
57/58 Fleet Street, Temple Bar, Dublin
Shouldn’t just be for tourists! Food great and plentiful. Stews and mash. Such good value
1 St Andrews Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin
I loved this place and the quirky style of tapas and mixed flavours etc.. But my boyfriend left starving! Be warned its not an entree and mains kind of place and if you go hungry you will order 3 to 4 meals for the lads! That would make it kinda pricey !
110 Thomas Street, City Centre South, Dublin
Be surprised be very surprised! Unassuming old mans pub but they do a great toasted sandwich and soup. ! Cheap and nice little beer garden! Students at the college next door love it!
Dame Street, City Centre South, Dublin
I would have walked by here a million times and never gone in but my friend brought me there recently for dinner and it was perfect home cooked affordable food. Staff were great and the atmosphere was of a really fun place. Lots on the menu from sambos to meat and two veg|!
The Market Bar
Fade Street, City Centre South, Dublin
NO Music! In a "bar" this may seem strange but it was my 4th time there b4 I noticed! Great place to sit at the very large table with friend’s chat and order/share good food. Really enjoy going here a little pricey for the portions though.
The Woolshed Baa & Grill
Parnell Street, The junction of Jervis street and Parnell street., City Centre North, Dublin
A greasy spoon. Good place to watch the rugby though....
37 Parliament Street, Temple Bar, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin
One of my favourite most unpretentious restaurants in Dublin. You can see them cooking their pizzas in the stone oven at the back of the restaurant. Great pasta dishes and such friendly staff. On the busy Parliament Street try get a seat at the window! Only bad thing about this place is the table downstairs with the toilet view! Busy most nights prepare to have to wait a short while.. But well worth it!

The Bank on College Green
20-22 College Green, City Centre South, Dublin
Best cocktail/food mix in Dublin! Cocktails at a tenner a bit steep but the food is great and very good value. It’s a great place to start a nite out and the relaxed furniture and atmosphere may make you stay all nite. Huge fireplace, which is really comfy during this horrible wet weather!
Bad Ass Cafe
Crown Alley, Temple Bar, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin
Enjoyable "fast food". Cheap and cheerful. I always like the Veggie burgers and their pizzas are always good. Good value in overpriced Temple Bar.
The Real Gourmet Burger - Dun Laoghaire
The Pavilion, South Dublin, Dun Laoghaire, Dublin
This is so enjoyable. Good food great staff. The burger fillings are unusual and interesting and the chips are real!! All at excellent prices!
The Hairy Lemon Traditional Pub & Restaurant
Stephen Street Lower, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin
Lovely sandwiches! Nice pub and good service good place for a session on a Saturday!
Busyfeet & Coco Cafe
41- 42 South William Street, South William Street, Dublin
Such nice food and desserts. A little cramped maybe but perfect for lunch. Coffees are good and menu caters for veggies.
The Stage Door
11/12 East Essex Street, Dublin 2, City Centre, Temple Bar, Dublin
Terrible service, terrible crepes. Dont bother.
Heavenly Food & Coffee
3 le Bar Square, Temple Bar, Dublin
Fine for an okay coffee, packet of cigarettes and a bar of chocolate. Nothing else to recommend from here. Except well, I would recommend you stay away from the hot dogs!
Centre Stage Cafe
6 Parliament Street, City Centre South, Dublin
An enjoyable eclectic, and eccentric little cafe. As said in other reviews expect the menu and staff to be the same. If this was in pre smoking ban Dublin it would be filled with smoke and the artistic folk ! Give it a go!
Cafe en Seine
39 Dawson Street, Dublin 2, Dawson Street, Dublin
Food is okay, but I think that its the fact you can grab a bite to eat, get in some post dinner cocktails and settle in for the night that we keep coming back here comfy pub hard to find in this age of modern” furniture" (AKA!!). Great atmosphere!!
Mao Restaurant (Dun Laoghaire)
The Pavillion, South Co, Dublin, Dun Laoghaire, Dublin

Thunder Road Cafe
Fleet Street, Dublin 2, Temple Bar, Dublin
SOO LOUD! I couldn't hear the waiter when we were ordering and had to point to everything on the menu.. Made asking for changes difficult. However when the food arrived (after a long wait) it was very good. Interesting decor, lots of memorabilia etc.. Very busy when ever I was there. Grand for the start of a night out.
TGI Friday (St Stephens Green )
St Stephens Green, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin
This is the perfect place for a group who are more interested in the cocktails than the foods. Food not great, (if you are looking for this style food then Captain Americas is better), however for Apres work drink where the food is just stomach lining then this is the place! Cocktails a little expensive but very enjoyable and a huge range. Staff are indifferent. Atmosphere is good in the evening not helped by the staff but by the buzz of the after work crew. Veggie burger a good option on the food menu.
Elephant & Castle
18/19 Temple Bar, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin
Enjoyable every time! Not the best place for a romantic twosome as tables are very close together! If you’re willing to wait for a table you will not be disappointed. Caesar salad huge and tasty. Perfect place to go with friends.
Eddie Rockets (Rathmines)
Lower Rathmines Road, South Dublin, Rathmines, Dublin
The difference in this place at 2pm and 2am is astounding. The food should be of the same quality at night as it is during the day. I have eaten here and in other outlets during the day and have been quiet happy with the quality of food (the veggie burger in particular) but at night it changes to cold slop. The bill is the same so the food should be too. Go during the day!
Captain America's Cookhouse And Bar
44 Grafton Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin
Having eaten here often as a student I always found it was consistent and good value for money. One of the few reliable places to go if you are hungry but not up for posh nosh! I would recommend it as a good starting point for a night out also as they have a good range of drinks is inexpensive and the service is fast.
