I love this restaurant. Ate there last night having not been there for a while. The food is very good, service is excellent and there was a real buzz in the place. Crab meat starter (the special) was good but not amazing. Prawn starter was delicious. Sea bream on aubergine mash (the special) was really good. Cheese board good. All washed down with a lovely sauvignon blanc, and no pressure to give back the table. All in all a lovely evening.

Hartley's Restaurant
1 Harbour Road, South Co. Dublin, Dun Laoghaire, Dublin

I love, love, LOVE, this restaurant. 14 of us celebrated my birthday there and we had a wonderful night. We started with drinks at the bar, followed by a delicious meal. The room is beautiful with high ceilings and huge mirrors. The staff are so friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was magic. I will definitely be eating here again. Thank you Hartley's.

Clodagh's Kitchen
Blackrock Village, Blackrock, Dublin

Oh dear. I've eaten three times at Clodagh's Kitchen in Blackrock, but I won't be returning. First time was not long after it opened, & despite mixed reviews, we decided to try it, and we're not disappointed. The food & decor were lovely and we excused made mistakes by the staff as they were friendly & the restaurant was newly opened. My second visit was a few months ago, & while it was not amazing, it was acceptable. Unfortunately my most recent visit was very disappointing for several reasons. It was 15th February, the Saturday after Valentine's Day, when you would expect restaurants to be busy. It was over half empty, cold & lacking In atmosphere. The staff were very friendly but service & attention to detail was poor. We ordered 2 starters. When they arrived one was the wrong dish. They took it back & replaced it with the salad that had been ordered, but was missing one of the listed ingredients. This was not mentioned. Our main courses were crab claws & paella. When they arrived the server said they would bring sides. We had to ask for these when they had not arrived after 10 minutes. Potatoes and broccoli seem like odd sides for crab claws and dipping bread, but the were nicely done. The crab claw and dipping bread were boring, and pretty tasteless. The garnish was a sprig of parsley. There was no chorizo in the paella. We asked about this & after some discussion in the kitchen area a bowl of chorizo was provided, with the explanation that when the rice had been served the chorizo had been missed in the pot. Dessert menus were not provided until we asked, some time after our main plates had been removed. Dessert was nice. Coffee was good. However there's something lacking here. I don't like writing a bad review, but I hope that Clodagh takes note and addresses the issues before what could be a popular local restaurant has to close due to lack of business.

Herbstreet
Hanover Quay, Dublin 2 , Grand Canal Dock, Dublin

We ate here before a concert in the Bord Gais Energy Theatre. The food was delicious - I had the hake with out lentils (usually mackerel but the mackerel was off the menu). Others had the fish cakes and a pasta dish. All very good. Service was really friendly and Herb Street is so convenient for the theatre. I haven't been for breakfast / brunch but I believe their cooked breakfast is amazing. Will definitely be back.

Rolys Bistro
7 Ballsbridge Terrace, Dublin, Ballsbridge, Dublin

We had lunch for a family birthday here yesterday. As always it was a great experience. The food is great - the prawns were little balls of white fluffy meat - delicious. Service was efficient and friendly. The lunch menu is great value. We would have only 2 negative comments: There seemed to be extra tables squashed in - I guess this is a sign of how popular the restaurant is but it did feel a bit cramped. There was a draught blowing on top of us. We didn't say anything as I presume there was some air conditioning on given the restaurant was full, and it wasn't really bad, just a little annoyance. Will definitely be going back and recommend without reservation.

Indian Ocean Dublin
15 Montague Street, City Centre South, Dublin

This restaurant is a great find. We decided to go because of the reviews on this site and the reviews are right. The food, service and atmosphere were all very good, and we got a complimentary drink at the end of the meal. The only small thing I would fault it that the wines we choose were not available but they had similar alternatives. I will definitely go back.
