Not far from where I live and have popped in for a late breakfast early lunch a few times. Always busy but for me the food just wasn't the best. On one occasion I had ordered a club sandwich and asked for no tomatoes. It came with tomatoes and also the added extra of egg shell. On another occasion myself and my girlfriend ordered and 45mins later we still had no food in front of us. My girlfriend politely inquired to the manageress who snapped back "well our burgers take time to cook" which wasn't stated on the menu as in most places. Haven't been back since and in no rush and the burger wasn't worth a 45min wait!

Fairground Restaurant
Fairground, Bettystown, Bettystown, Meath

Another local place of mine and have to say was pleasantly surprised when it opened. The food was always good the service always very good but in recent months it's slipped in my opinion. The fajitas are lovely and pasta dishes were generous and very tasty. Last time I was there though I sat in a group of 4. We were given menus and sat waiting. No one came to take a drink order, after 20mins of waiting we asked could we place our order to which we were told "you must wait we are very busy" we weren't told on entering there would be a wait due to it being busy and I myself wouldn't call 4 tables with 2 people at each busy. Left and went elsewhere and haven't been back

Chan's Restaurant
Main Street, Bettystown, Bettystown, Meath

Have eaten in chans on many occassions and a real pleasure each time. The staff can't do enough for you. The minute your water is empty someone appears straight away filling it agan. The food is top quality and I'd reccomend the duck with crab sauce or the crispy shredded beef in chilli. The mixed plater starter is nice to share and give you a little taste of things. The only thing that isn't the best is the desserts apart from the lovely sorbet. The take away is lovely too

Bru Bar and Bistro
Haymarket North Bank, Drogheda, Louth

Have been to Bru a good few times and have to say it's been hit & miss. Sometimes lovely food with bad service others bad food with good service. The food wouldn't be the highest standard but for a quick bite before heading out it's a decent place as upstairs has a nice bar with great cocktails etc

Martellos (Drogheda)
Millmount, Drogheda, Co. Louth, Drogheda, Louth

Lovely place for a relaxing meal. Not a place to go if you just want to be in and out it's somewhere to go for a relaxed evening. The staff were great and when I ordered chips with what was an already large platter between 2 they told me I'd be best off not as the platter was going to big where most places would have been happy to take the money. Try and get into the conservatory when booking as it has lovely views of the town.
