Food here is very old school Irish. Great atmosphere and lovely buzz to the place. One complaint is that the tables are very packed together, they cannot cope with large groups and the food is a little heavy and stodgy especially if you're eating there on a Saturday night and planning on going drinking for the night!

I have eaten here a few times and as a pizzeria I just don't think it makes the grade. It has a cold canteen like atmosphere and the pizzas aren't that great. Some of the restaurant like Italians in town produce higher standards of food. The starters are a complete waste of money and not that nice!

Cafe Bar H
Grand Canal Plaza, Dublin 2, Grand Canal Dock, Dublin

You would really think a tapas bar could perfect their patatas bravas, they were dry, greasy bits of potatoes with a spoonful of tomato sauce on top, no spice or flavour. Crab cakes were also very disappointing with very little crab in them. Calamari was really good but came with bog standard tomato sauce on top. Meatballs lovely!! Staff were very good especially with the pre-theatre rush before Cats!! The kitchen let the side down unfortunately!!

The Hot Stove
38 Parnell Square West, Dublin 1 , City Centre North, Dublin

Very disappointing experience!! Visited here with some girlfriends on a Saturday night and we were all underwhelmed by the food and appalled by the poor service. Sat there for 30 mins before food order was taken and at that had to ask could we order. White wine was not chilled and we had to constantly ask to have our glasses replenished. We had to ask 3 times could we order a second bottle of wine. Portions where tiny and rabbit was dry and disappointing. Even though we were still hungry we decided against ordering dessert as we felt it wasn't worth the hassle. Restaurant itself is bright and a bit sterile, not somewhere you would want to linger in!! So disappointed and will not return!!

The Vintage Kitchen
7 Poolbeg St, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Second time eating here. Food is fab!! Unfortunately my dining companion's duck was chewy and not good. They removed it from the bill so no complaints there and I will definitely go back...the risotto is amazing!!

Great food and great service. Food was visually stunning and extremely tasty. Atmosphere lacks somewhat, slightly soulless!! However..I will go back!!

Fallon and Byrne
11-17 Exchequer Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Had a very disappointing dinner here last Sunday after previous positive experiences. Ordered off the early bird and was so disappointed. The cod and chorizo roulade was cold and bland and highly inedible. I had hoped for the sole main course but they were out, so that was replaced with plaice. The fish was smothered in a heavy creamy butter sauce and was not pleasant to eat. My mothers steak was tasty so I ended up eating half of that. They do half price cocktails on Sundays so that was cool!! But wont go back for food...very disappointing!!

Foam Cafe
24 Strand Street Great, Italian Quarter, Dublin

Had a very disappointing lunch here last Sunday. I love the decor of the this place, and on previous visits had only had teas/coffees so I was dying to try out the food. We both ordered the crab, avocado and lime salad which was highly disappointing. I assumed They appeared to have thrown absolutely anything and everything on the plate, mango sauce, carrot with mustard seeds, black olives with stones in (be careful of your teeth) and passion fruit. The flavours didnt work. We both came across shell in the crab (again be careful of your teeth). My mum hardly touched hers and when it came to clearing the table, my mother wasnt even asked 'Was everything ok?' as clearly it wasn't. The salad was priced at €12 each...so expensive lunch and we both left hungry!! I won't come here for food again or coffee for that matter as its proper manners to ask the customer how their meal was when their plate remains mostly untouched. Disappointing!!

Diep le Shaker
55 Pembroke Lane, (Off Pembroke Street), Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

One of the worst meals I've had in a long time!! Came here for a late lunch and granted it was a bit late in the day to expect a lunchtime atmosphere but I couldn't believe the poor quality of the food!! We had the squid and prawns to start. The squid was anemic in colour, tough and utterly tasteless!! The chargrilled prawns were few and far between, but were again utterly tasteless and they did not taste chargrilled and had either been frozen or re-heated!! The beef main course was an improvement but the main of seabass was very disappointing as it was overcooked and was overpowered by garlic and chili. The service was good. Total waste of money....never again!!

Kinara Restaurant
318 Clontarf Road, North Co. Dublin , Clontarf, Dublin

I dont particularly like this style of food but I cannot rate this restaurant high enough. Its fab, the food is light and organic and not as heavy and stodgy as I normally find with this time of food. The dips are amazing, as are the tandori prawns to start and the service is fantastic. Love going there!

Here again for the good value Sunday lunch! Another pleasant lunch and great value!! Always find the starters to be quite basic and nothing special, but the mains and the dessert were lovely! Service great

Very expensive for what you get. Food very old fashioned, could do with updating. Service faultless however, but will not be going back!

Seagrass of Portobello Bridge
30 South Richmond Street, Dublin 8, Portobello, Dublin

Ate here a couple of nights ago with a friend. It was quite empty as we were dining early. Regardless the staff, service and food was excellent. We ordered off the tapas menu, the squid risotto was fantastic, as was the goat’s cheese and the mushrooms. Will definitely go again. Great value!
