Great buzz about this place so I expected a good night but I was disappointed. Service was slow and abrupt - I had to ask for my drink four times and my meal was almost finished before it came. For mains, I had pasta in a cream sauce with chicken, bacon and mushrooms. A lot of food on the plate but no great flavour from it - even a load of black pepper didn't do much to help my meal. Food was pricy enough for what you got.

Farm Restaurant (Leeson St)
133 Upper Leeson St, Dublin 4, City Centre South, Dublin

We had the set menu for €33 which was a starter, main dinner, dessert and coffee. I had the duck spring rolls, the chicken (which was the tastiest chicken I ever had) and the lemon posset. My veggie friend loved the veggie burger which looked unusual but tasted excellent. Food was delicious and well presented. Service was excellent - loved the call button on the table!

The Dandelion Restaurant
1st floor, Unit 4, Main Street , Swords, Swords, Dublin

The Dandelion is a little bit up-market but without the up-market prices. Food was excellent - bruschetta for starters and stuffed porksteak for mains. Mains could be a big on the smaller side if you're a big eater but it got top marks for flavour and presentation. Service was excellent - a very attentive young man. Would definitively recommend it.

Wrights Cafe Bar
The Plaza, Swords, Swords, Dublin

Wrights went off the boil for a while but it's back on form now. Food is excellent and the steak at €10 is really worth it. Great place for a casual meal in Swords.

Lemongrass (Liffey Valley)
Arc Bar, Liffey Valley Centre, West Dublin, Lucan, Dublin

Had dinner in Lemongrass and was very impressed. Service was top class - dealt with the owner who was on the floor and very attentive. Good choice on the early bird menu. Ribs and Singapore noodles were very good. Only a very small gripe - the cappucino wasn't great! Will certainly be back both for the food and the service.

Wagamama - Stephen's Green
St Stephen's Green Centre, South King St, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Tried the lunch menu here - I had the spicy seafood ramen and spend a while trying to work out the 'fish' elements of this dish! The staff were extremely friendly but quite quick to come and see was I finished my food and drink. Don't think I'll be back but it could be more to do with my taste in food than anything else.

Indian Brasserie
Butterfield Avenue, Rathfarnham Village, Rathfarnham, Dublin

Any night I've been here, it's always been very quiet, but maybe that's a good thing as the waiter is very friendly and has time for a chat! Onion bhaji and the butter chicken are the way to go here - very good. Early bird is good value - 3 courses for €16.95.

The Old Schoolhouse (Dublin)
Coolbanagher Church Road, North Co. Dublin, Swords, Dublin

Only had a main course of sirloin steak in the bar but what a meal! The best steak in a very long time. Just go there!!!!

Masterson's Steakhouse & Wine Bar
17 Main Street, Swords, Dublin

Had the early bird menu. Excellent food, excellent value. Service was top notch. Regular menu is a little bit on the expensive side but worth a treat!

Indie Spice Grill
Burgundy House, New Street, North Co. Dublin, Swords, Dublin

Can't fault Indie Spice. I've eaten here on many occassions and every time it hits the mark. The service is excellent, you are never rushed through your meal and the food is very, very good. Highly recommend the onion bhajee and the lamb rogan josh - can't find better Indian food elsewhere! And the cappucino with the chocolate water afterwards!!!!!!!!!

Mirchi
9 Townyard Lane, North Co. Dublin, Malahide, Dublin

At 6pm, we were the only two people in the restaurant which was very cold. The waiter did organise for the heating to be turned on so that by the time the coffee came, it was grand and warm! I had the lamb chops for starters which were very small but my friend's onion bhajee seemed to be a better option. The chicken korma for the mains was quite nice. The food in general was good but nothing special. I think that we found the restaurant to be quite cold made us rush through the meal and get back to our warm car!

Mitchell's Restaurant
Market Street, Clifden, Galway

Had the early bird menu here - good selection of about 5 starters & main courses and 2 different deserts for approx. €23. Portions were good sized - quality of the food was excellent (apart from the chips just needing another minute or two cooking time). I had the fish cake for starter, steak (perfectly cooked!) for mains and ice-cream for desert. Cappucinos were best I've had in a long time. Staff were very pleasant and attentive. I'll definitely go back next time I'm in town.

Milano (Dundrum)
Dundrum Shopping Centre, Dublin 14, Dundrum, Dublin

Have Sunday lunch here. A bit pricey for small portions - 2 starters, 2 mains and 2 minerals cost €49. Nothing spectacular. Very busy spot though with friendly service.

Gourmet Food Parlour Swords
Unit 2 St Fintans, North Street, Swords, Swords, Dublin

Good atmosphere, live music, great service and excellent food - what more could you ask for on a Friday night? Tapas here on Friday night must be one of Swords' best kept secrets! Having tried half the tapas menu, I'll be back to try the other half! A selection of five tapas dishes, one desert, two glasses of wine, a mineral, bottle of water & two cappucinos came to €65. Not bad at all!!!

Basilico Italian Restaurant & Pizzeria
Oranmore, Main Street, Coach House Hotel, Oranmore, Galway

A starter of mussels in a tomato based sauce was lovely with plenty of mussels. This and a basket of bread would do you for lunch. Calzoni was good with a thin crust and plenty of fillings. Restaurant was packed the night. Service was good and efficient. Definitely worth going back to.

The Harp Lounge
Carnegie Court Hotel, Swords, Dublin

Two course early bird for €13.95. Choice of three dishes for each course. Chicken curry was excellent. Good food at a great price! Will be back.

Metzo Retaurant
Travelodge Dublin Airport, Shangan Road, Dublin 9, Ballymun, Dublin

I had the carbonara when I was here. For €16, the dish was disappointing to say the least. The ham used in the dish looked like it came from a packet as did the grated cheese on top of the food. Apart from the food, the service was friendly and efficient and the place is very nice. I won't be rushing back until the food improves!

profile_review

Bombay Bistro
55, Main Street, Rush, Rush, Dublin

The food here was simply the best Indian food that I've had in a long time. Only down point was that the service, while pleasant, was slow - just make sure that when you go here that you have plenty of time!! Early bird menu is very good value.

The Curra Restaurant at the Towers
Towers Hotel, Glenbeigh, Kerry

I had bar food - soup & carbonara. The tomato & basil soup was creamy without a strong taste of either tomato or basil & the carbonara was more chicken & pasta in a mushroom sauce! If you could disregard the descriptions, the food was quite good and excellent value for money. Service was very friendly and the real fire added to the atmosphere. YOu could easily come for the food and spend the night with a few drinks in front of that fire!!

profile_review

Mr Bumbles Restaurant
Kickham st, Clonmel, Clonmel, Tipperary

The €9.95 credit crunch lunch is very good value - soup and a choice of four mains. The chicken & sweetcorn soup and the main course of ham and cabbage were very good - the flavour of the ham was excellent! Service was good. Definitely worth going back to this restaurant!

profile_review

Howards Way (Churchtown)
11 Braemor Road, South Dublin, Churchtown, Dublin

Had lunch here with a friend - I had the bacon topped burger & she had teh steak ciabatta. Both of us thought that our meals were good (the dressing on the side salad was gorgeous!). Two decent cappucinos to finish and the bill came to €40. Staff were extremely pleasant. Great buzz in the place!

profile_review

Purple Ocean Restaurant
St Michael's Pier, Dun Laoghaire, Dublin

€20 Sunday dinner menu - good choice but the food is nothing special. Still good value for €20. Someone in the kitchen has a heavy hand with the sauces as both my deep fried brie starter and my pork mains were nearly drowned! If you want value - go to Purple. If you want food that's a bit more thoughtful.......

profile_review

Sumatra
53 John St Co. Waterford, Waterford City, Waterford

Called in for a coffee and a scone. Scones were homemade and served with butter and jam, Couldn't fault the service - very friendly. Will definitely stop here again when in the city.

The Cottage
Unit 4, Town Centre Mall, Swords, Swords, Dublin

Had a nice homemade sandwich here for lunch. Good value and a nice relaxed atmosphere. Colouring books provided for the kids as well!!!1

Interlude
The Quay, Dungarvan, Dungarvan, Waterford

Good buzz in this place. Not much choice on the menu but food was good. I had a homemade chicken burger with wedges and finished with the chocolate cake. More likely to return for the atmosphere than the food though!

profile_review

FIRE Restaurant and Lounge
Mansion House, Dawson Street, Dublin 2, Dawson Street, Dublin

Good atmosphere. Food was good even if portions were a bit small.

profile_review

Cava Spanish Restaurant & Tapas Bar
51 Lower Dominick Street, Galway City, Galway

Wide variety of tapas. Very good choice. Quality was excellent - only complaint was that the portions were a bit small. The rack of lamb with the honey aioli is lovely. On the desert side, the creme brulee is to die for! Was there on a Friday night when there was live Spanish music which added to the holiday feeling!!! Will return to try some more dishes.

profile_review

Pasta Pizza
54 Strand Street, Skerries, Dublin

Pizzas were top class. Good coffee! The two waitresses were the most pleasant and friendly people I have seen working in a restaurant in a long time! Would definitely recommend this place...I'll be back!!

profile_review

Oscar's Bistro
Main Street, Duleek, Duleek, Meath

I was here for lunch and really enjoyed it. Food was very good, good flavour, quality and plenty of it! Good value for money. I will be back!

profile_review

Galileo Cafe Clonmel
4 Gladstone Street, Clonmel, Tipperary

Nothing special about the food. Bruschetta was dreadful - the tomato paste could have come from a jar and don't mention the chicken on top of it! Prices represent good value for what you get. No atmosphere. Won't be in a hurry back.

profile_review

Park House Restaurant (Galway)
Park House Hotel & Restaurant, Forster Street, Eyre Square, Galway City, Galway

Food was very good. Set menu with a wide choice for under €50. Something for everyone on the menu. Desserts were the best!! Service was excellent - staff very friendly.

profile_review

Chapmans Coffee House
Richmond Mill, Emmett Street, Clonmel, Tipperary

Soup was fresh and homemade as was the brown bread, in fact just about everything looked as if it came fresh from the kitchen!! Could do with more staff serving as the queues were slow to move and the staff looked under pressure!

profile_review

Salamanca
1 St Andrews Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Service was good. Good atmosphere. We had the specials of the night and were very impressed. Food was excellent - we will be back!!!

profile_review

Yen
Main Street, Oranmore, Galway

Good choice on the menu. Staff were very polite and friendly. Very accommodating for a large family group.

profile_review

TGI Friday (Blanchardstown)
Blanchardstown Shopping Centre, Dublin 15, Blanchardstown, Dublin

Food was nice but overpriced - definitely not value for money! Service was good.

profile_review
