I went to The Courtyard on Sunday with two others. Being a bank holiday Sunday I wasn't sure what to expect but it was lovely. We ordered 2 soups, 1 half portion of beef dinner, 1 half portion of lamb dinner and 1 full beef dinner. The soup arrived and a big basket of fresh rolls and brown bread. I wasn't having soup but I tasted it and it was delicious. The dinners arrived with enough time in between to let the soup go down. Again, delicious. Beef, mashed spuds, gravy, croquette and a selction of vegetables including sprouts, green beans, veg and sweetcorn. We had 1 tea and 1 portion of ice cream as we were just too full to sample the wide option dessert menu. Everything came to under € 40. What I really enjoyed was the atmosphere. There was a football match on on 2 televisions and it didn't interrupt our conversation at all. Also as there is table service we weren't queing for food etc.

Reddys Of Carlow
67 Tullow Street, Tullow, Tullow, Carlow

Note: This is for Reddy's bar food, not the restaurant. My Mam, sister and I always go out to celebrate Little Christmas and this year we decided to go to Reddy's. We went in about 4.30 on Saturday, to a fairly quiet but not dead pub! We got lovely comfy seats in one of the booths on the lovely couches towards the back of the pub. There was great variety on the menu. We had brie fritters, garlic mushrooms and pate for starters. They brought us out lovely fresh brown bread and some melba toast before the starters arrived. There was just the right amount of salad with each starter and good size portions of each. All 3 of us chose the special steak, (think it's called golfers special). It came with mushrooms, onions, salad, sauce and chips all for €19.95. I ordered mine medium to well and that's exactly what it was. There was a big dessert menu and we had pavlova, cheesecake and trifle. The only problem with the desserts was that we were too full after all the lovely food! The bill came to € 105 for all the above, 2 coffees, 1 tea, a small bottle of wine, a coke and a lucozade. Excellent food and value. I'll definitely be visiting Reddy's again.

Springsteen
12 Commercial Quay., Wexford Town, Wexford

Myself and my bf and another couple visited Springsteens on Friday night. The other couple had been before and knew it was good. I'd have to say it was the best meal i've had out in ages. We went for the early bird special of 3 courses at €25. Our table was booked for 7.45 so I thought it was excellent that the early bird was still on offer. Between the 4 of us we had buffalo wings and garlic mushrooms for starters and rib eye steak and surf and turf (not called that on menu but you'll know what i mean!) for mains. Couldn't fault anything. Chips were home made thick cut spuds rather then chips and were delicious. Steak was so big, I couldn't finish it. For dessert we had a brandy snap thingy filled with ice cream. Delicious. My bf doesn't do dessert and for the laugh the other couple ordered him buffalo wings for dessert and that wasn't a problem! Service was fabulous, from the minute we walked in to the time we left. We were upstairs and there was a party of 12 or 14 opposite us but we could still have a conversation without having to shout. Can't wait to go back here again!
