I can't believe the comments I've just read about bay! Yes the place is small, tables are close together but the food is fab and consistently fab at that! I go there a lot for lunch and this is really the time to go...specials are always great with fresh ideas and ingredients that are in season!! It always has a great atmosphere and the staff are always friendly & pleasant...they work hard very hard, so give them a break. We are all different, but I would go back time and again to a place where the food is always good - & forgive all else.Stoop Your Head restaurant

I laughed out load when I read the below review:-) This guy is totally right - but you see I don't care. I know whats good and what can be hit and miss - I never expect a table and always give myself 1hr before I'll really need to eat - so I can wait for a table - the staff are really funny - but I think that adds to the place. This is a really good place to go - have a quick bite to eat - not care if your overheard - cause you will be - relax & chill out & then head on for a walk or for a night out! Don't expect anything else cause you won't get it - and I promise Stoops will grow on you..........
The French Paradox Wine Shop & Wine Bar
53 Shelbourne Road, Dublin 4, Ballsbridge, Dublin
I looked up 'restaurants in Ballsbridge' on menupages on Sat evening as I was meeting a friend last minute & liked the look of this. It was spot on - we wanted tapas type food and the waiter suggested a mix of starters & thats what we had - with a very nice Sancerre! The food was delicious/wine fantastic- and we stayed for 4 hours chatting & enjoying the athmosphere! I really really like this place - no fuss/no drama - great food and very reasonable! Thanks guys!!

The Orchid Restaurant
51B Church Street, Skerries, Skerries, Dublin
I had not been to the Orchid for some time so went with my family for a nice Sunday evening early dinner. The place was quite which surprised me & we were served quickly...but the food was dreadful! We had veg spring rolls which were tiny, lukewarm & horrid. Followed this with crispy duck - dreadful, then chicken in black bean - worse than awful!! The food was vile, extremely disappointing - this used to be a great restaurant - won't be back!!

Blue Cafe Bar
Harbour Road Skerries, Skerries, Dublin
Why oh why is it so difficult to provide good food? Blue bar is a lovely venue, I quite like the staff & it has a great athmosphere - the problem is the food! Its bland, bland bland....the prawns don't taste like prawns they taste like frozen watery bits of fish..soaked in hot oil with bits of garlic-truly awful! I've at this stage tried lots of things on the menu & I can safely say that nothing excites me, or tastes like it should - overpriced bland bland food...my advice? Get some fish & chips in a takeaway, sit on sea wall & enjoy them, head into Blue after for a beer & enjoy the atmosphere, just don't eat there!!

Diep le Shaker
55 Pembroke Lane, (Off Pembroke Street), Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin
Had a late lunch in Diep on Friday, place was fairly empty and we were starving! Service was slow but good, wine list was excellent but the food was to die for. Everyone ordered individual dishes so we all had a taste of each other's and really you could not fault the food it was really really good. Star dish had to be the lamb - perfect!
