Restaurant Reviews from Riverbank
Toscana City Centre restaurant
3 Cork Hill, Dame Street (opposite Dublin Castle), Dublin City Centre, Dublin 2, Temple Bar, Dublin, Area Code: Dublin 2
Reviewed 11th May 2010 ( visited 05th May 2010 )Been meaning to try this restaurant for a while and decided anniversary was the date. The staff are extremely friendly and the atmosphere was great with fantastic Italian music in the background. I chose from the early bird menu which had an excellent choice and my boyfriend went a la carte. The portions are generous and the food very good. There were some birthday parties in for the evening and I would definitely consider it for a special occassion again. Can't wait to go back!
Washerwomans Hill restaurant
60 Glasnevin Hill, Glasnevin, Glasnevin, Dublin, Area Code: Dublin 9
Reviewed 22nd September 2009 ( visited 10th September 2009 )Went here for family occassion and availed of the ladies special menu. The choice is excellent and the other members of the party went on the early bird menu. All the food was very good although the pasta dish was far too creamy. The staff were very attentive and helpful. The house wine is a little on the expensive side but a great evening was had by all.
Iveagh Mall, Dublin 18, Carrickmines, Dublin
Dined here on a Friday evening. Food was fine, nothing too spectacular but what we expected for pizzeria. Staff could do with some training as despite a large dining area almost all the diners were seated along one wall & almost elbow to elbow, made the evening uncomfortable. One customer did ask to be seated elsewhere but was refused as the warier said it was easier for him if all the customers were in this area, the customer left. Fine for quick bite but could do better.
35 South William Street, Dublin 2, South William Street, Dublin
Dined here with friends for my birthday. Atmosphere was good, quite lively. Staff were pleasant. The menu needs some explaining and really only for meat lovers. It was very busy for a Friday but we managed to get a table for 7 without delay. I contacted the owner in relation to the bad food experience three of us had at the restaurant however nobody contacted me as promised. Whilst the ambience is enjoyable I would never return or recommend the restaurant given the poor follow up.
Gourmet Burger Kitchen (GBK South Anne Street)
5 South Anne Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin
Called in with friend for dinner on a busy evening, place was pretty full. The staff were not the friendliest really and a tad snappy in manner. The food was as we expected, lovely burgers as usual. Not the kind of place you could sit and chat really as we felt like as soon as we put our coffees down they wanted us to go. Good place for quick bite to eat, reliable.
4 Kilmacud Road Lower, Stillorgan, Dublin
Went here for early dinner with my fiance, was pretty quiet when we arrived in but was beginning to get busy by 7pm. Starters were lovely as were the mains, not overly keen on polenta but lamb burger he had was really nice. They have an early bird menu which is good value. Staff very friendly and pretty similar to city centre location.
The Port House
64a South William Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin
Great place for relaxing meal over some wine. Food is decent and the setting is great, love the exposed brick etc. Wine list is huge so bound to find something you like and food is reasonable. Would go back again, not being able to book is a drawback however it was possible in the run up to Valentines Day.
52 Dawson Street, Dublin 2 , City Centre South, Dublin
Called in for early dinner with friends, lovely atmosphere. Service was a little slow but overall very pleasant. Food was good however the pasta was a little more al dente than we would have liked. Good value menu but wine is little expensive.

38 - 40 Parliament Street, City Centre South, Dublin
Decided to give this place a try having walked by it many times. The lunch menu is great value and the restaurant is very relaxed with friendly staff. The starter was good is a little small compared to other lunch specials. I opted for the chicken and was not disappointed, little too salty for me on account of the ham but enjoyed it nevertheless.
The Italian Corner
23/24 Wellington Quay, Dublin City Centre, Dublin 2, Temple Bar, Dublin
Enjoyed lunch here today, food was ok, had bruschetta which was good portion size and scallop of chicken which was somewhat overcooked. Staff very friendly and apologised for delay as place was very busy. Lovely views onto the Liffey.
37 Parliament Street, Temple Bar, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin
Great place for lunch, try to get in just before one to get seated upstairs as it gets very busy. The lunch menu has a fantastic selection and food is very good.
3 Temple Bar, Temple Bar, Dublin
Have dined here for lunch a few times and it has always been very good. The menu could do with being varied every so often but there is something for everyone. The bruschetta is great as are pasta dishes. Never ordered the pizza but my dining companion did and really enjoyed it. Would return.
Gourmet Burger Kitchen (GBK Temple Bar)
Unit 1, Temple Bar Square, Dublin 2 , Temple Bar, Dublin
Great value for lunch here with all burgers 5 euro, you need to order a side but one side between two is plenty. Had the chicken burger and my companion had a spicy beef burgere, we were both really happy with our meals and will probably be back for lunch again.
The Leopardstown Inn
Brewery Road, Stillorgan, Dublin
Dined here on a Friday evening and ordered the steak, was fine for a pub and came with good sized side order. Place was busy and good atmosphere. The prices are expensive especially the drinks. The smoked salmon atarter is gorgeous and would be plenty for two or three to share.
Hedigans The Brian Boru
5 Prospect Road, Glasnevin, Dublin
Went out for dinner here few weeks ago and we were all very happy with our meals. We shared some starters and some had salads, others burgers. All the food was very good. The early bird menu is quite limited but if you are not too fassy you can find something to suite. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. Will return again.
The Porterhouse (North )
Cross Guns Bridge, Glasnevin, Dublin
Visit here regularly and best Porterhouse for food I think. I enjoy the burger or pizza deal early in week for €10 and am never disappointed. Food is always good. The staff are friendly and always have a warm welcome.
Talbot Street, Dublin 1, City Centre North, Dublin
Went here with family and was excellent meal. Great place for steaks and lamb from what we had. The 10% service charge as there were six of us added a hefty amount to the bill. Will be back perhaps for the early bird.

Mexico to Rome
23 East Essex Street, Dublin 2, City Centre, Temple Bar, Dublin
Had the early bird here on a Tuesday and was fantastic value, alos very busy so good atmosphere. Had the chicken enchiladas and they were great. 13.95 for two course and the house wine by the glass is very reasonable too. Will definitely go back.
Harts Corner, North Dublin, Glasnevin, Dublin
Went for a family meal this week and as usual the food was great. I agree with other reviews that the antipasti is very well done and you are transported back to Italy for an evening. Great to have a genuine Italian restaurant so nearby. Friednly staff and excellent value for money.
T.P. Smiths Bar & Restaurant
9-10 Jervis Street, City Centre North, Dublin
Went for the early bird last week and was very disappointed. The food seemed to have been sitting under the heat too long as there was skin on the gravy. The portions were very small and the food was definitely on low end standard of pub grub. Despite the reasonable price you still expect some decnt food. Have had lovely meals there in the past but I won't be returning after my recent experience.
