What a pleasant surprise! Hit Lisdoon about 8:30pm on Friday and ate in a pub in the town...it was just "ok"...given that the town seemed kind of quiet I started to think that the food offerings in Lisdoonvarna might not be great. Found the Wild Honey Inn on Menu Pages and decided my friend and I would go there for dinner on the Saturday night. Walked in and you just knew...im in safe hands here :-). The place was busy and had a great atmosphere...had to wait 30 minutes for a table but it was an enjoyable wait at the bar drinking some craft Beer and Cider! The static menu is very limited but makes up for it with a lot of specials on offer which keeps the offerings fresh and new. To start I had the "Eel" which was a first for me and my friend had the "Crab Claws"...we knew at this stage it was a quality restaurant as the service and food were already excellent. Main Courses were a steak for my friend and I had Lambs Neck...another first. All in all these two courses were the perfect size so you did not feel stuffed. Normally I don't bother with dessert/coffee but given how enjoyable the place was...my mate went with a sweet dessert (I cant remember what it was) and I have the cheese board with a full bodied glass of red wine...again...not too much of it and it was very tasty. The waitress professionally talked me through what the cheeses were. Coffee to finish and we both left the place feeling the bill was a little pricey but that it was worth every penny...and if I'm honest...it was the high light of the whole weekend...and it was a great weekend! Highly Recommend dining in this place!
