Myself and the OH had the Early Bird Menu, food was wonderful with a couple of small niggles ,Handcut chips destroyed with salt and cheesecake lacking in cheese. However , those minor points couldn't detract from the overall high quality of the food, its taste and presentation. Fishcakes were a joy,Jumbeliah was magnificent and the sea bass was just perfect. Small but very well chosen wine list and very keenly priced. Staff were very friendly, though somewhat inexperienced, would suggest not using the phrase "are yiz finished". Excellent value with great potential, would consider it a work in progress but will definitley be back.

Harveys Bar and Grill Restaurant (Above Harvest Bar & Lounge)
Main Street, Balbriggan, Balbriggan, Dublin

The worst ever. Water cocktails. Disinterested staff, no wine list, no black pepper, unseasoned mush, stone cold tortillas and instant coffee sold as Americano. It is no wonder this venue was empty on a Saturday night.

The Old Schoolhouse (Dublin)
Coolbanagher Church Road, North Co. Dublin, Swords, Dublin

The restaurant was empty when we arrived except for one other couple who were prepraring to leave. The waiter was friendly, and we were given menus and a wine list. The menus were considerably shorter than the one on menupages and the waiter also explained that they didn't have any ribeye steaks thus further shortening the choices available. I opted for the chowder to start while herself had the goatscheese brushetta. YThe bruschetta both looked and tasted good, however the chowder was a disaster. It was incredibly thick and glutenous and served with, of all things, a lump of cold smoked salmon on top of it! For mains I opted for a suft and turf (Blue) and she for the sea bass. i asked for a small portion of garlic butter with the surf and turf and recieved a dish of liqued clarified margerine with no hint of garlic to it. I sent it back and asked the waiter to get me some proper garlic butter but apparently the "chef" lacked the bsic skills to prepare it so I recived the margerine again. The blue steak, which should be seared on the outside and blood red within was in fact sweated on the outside and stone cold, the surf consited of some chewy mussels in shell and a few edible prawns. Her Sea Bass was luke warm and served with a watery tastless mash and a bland supposed white wine sauce. neither of us finished our mains and we did point out our dissatisfaction to the waiter .He was apologetic and cannot be blamed. We finished with two satisfactory coffees. The bill including a bottle of Italian white came to €87 which was an affront bearing in mind the terrible experience we suffered. On leaving the waiter, god love him handed us a voucher for a free meal but we dont dislike anyone enough to give them it. .
