We dined on Friday evening. One ate from the Early Bird and the the other from the a la Carte menu. One soup and one crispy duck/pancake starter. Soup was delicious. Crispy duck starter was veery tasty and enormous! Great value. Then finished off with a rice dish and a Massaman Curry. Again these were very good. The staff were charming and over all the meal was good value and well worth repeating.

Victoria Asian Cuisine
5A The Cresent, South Co. Dublin , Monkstown, Dublin

Great food and Value. Our group had not visited Victoria for a couple of year, and we truly enjoyed this visit. We had meals from the 20 and 25 Euro set menus. The Crispy duck and salt and chilli prawns were declared 'magnificent' Staff were charming. We will return shortly to please our taste buds yet again.

Kenz
23 Main Street,, Co Dublin, Blackrock, Dublin, Blackrock, Dublin

I met a few friends in Blackrock, and afterwards we wished to dine. I had seen the menu in this recently opened venue as i walked past, and we decided too try our luck. You can bring your own wine - and there is NO corkage charge! - An obvious attraction. We were delighted with the food, which is Moroccan - with dishes such a couscous and tagines etc. We tried the sharing dish starter for two (c. €19). We three shared it and it was a real treat, of varied tastes and textures and easily sufficient for these all of us. We then had a selection of the lamb tagines and each was wonderfully tasty. I can highly recommend this place for atmosphere, charming staff and the food. We shall be returning soo.

Le Plancha
1A Monkstown Crescent, South Co. Dublin, Monkstown, Dublin

We arrived expecting to have the early bird menu, but found that it finished at 6.15 on Friday. Turned out to be more an opportunity, rather than a problem We had the prawn and calamari starters and really liked them. We had a range of mains and all were declared to be excellent. We would recommend this place to one and all.

Chai Yo
100 Lower Baggot street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

We dined off the fixed price menu early in the evening at 6.30. There was a wide choice in the starters and main courses. We al had tempura prawns as starters and everyone declared them to b delicious. Cannot remember all the mains ,but two of us had Cantonese duck and really enjoyed it. Portions were generous. The service was cheerful and attentive.. We had last visited here some years ago, and left thinking that we must attend again in the near future.

Daniels
34a Glasthule Road, Sandycove, Dunlaoghaire, Sandycove, Dublin

We found the food great. We tried the whitebait and the crayfish starters, then the lobster thermidor and steak. All very well presented and delicious. we will return soon. Ambience is not great, with the entrance and stairs being somewhat 'distressed', while the dining room is old fashioned but the service was very friendly and the food delicious and well priced

Blue Orchid Blackrock

We dined on ebi-fri and sushi starters, Followed by hot and sour duck, and the sizzling seafood. Each dish was most enjoyable. The staff were friendly and attentive. Allied with our own wine (corkage €5.00) it was a very enjoyable meal

F.X. BUCKLEY Steakhouse Pembroke Street
1A Lower Pembroke Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

A large group of old school friends gathered for a late lunch. We dined off the fixed dinner menu - cost at c. €25.00 for three courses, and most of us had steak as a main course. The consensus was - good starters, excellent stakes, deserts Ok and good service. We all thoroughly enjoyable afternoon.

Amerta Chinese Restaurant
Clifton Avenue, Monkstown, Dublin

All-you-can-eat for €12.00. Great Value. We usually have soup followed by two starters and a main course. All decent quality, but soup is excellent. Include the house wine for €15.00 or 3 bottles of great Chinese beer for a tenner. Well worth a regular visit.

KC Blakes Brasserie
Quay Street, Galway City, Galway

This restaurant has an early Bird Menu until 8.30 pm, which is later than most in Galway, and to be commended. We found the staff friendly and helpful. We started with duck parfait and chicken wings. Both were excellent and tasty. We then ordered salmon with risotto, and fish and chips. The fish was off - there having been a run on it- so I decided to have the burger. My companion did not like the risotto, which she found poorly cooked and also did not like the salmon. I found the burger acceptable, but then I am no burger fan. Including a bottle of wine the bill came to just over €60.00. All in all we were not enchanted with the restaurant, but maybe it was an off night, and we would probably try it again.

Santoor Restaurant
Main Street, Oranmore, Galway

We were staying in Oranmore and decided to try Santoor. Not being very hungry we skipped starters and had a tandori mix grill and a lamb tikka masala. The portions were generous and were very tasty. We enjoyed the meal, the surroundigs and found the staff attentive. The meal including a bottle of wine cost about €62.00. We would return and try it again!

Alexis Bar And Grill
17 / 18 Patrick Street, Dun Laoghaire, Dublin

Five friends decided to visit Alexis' for an early bird. Starter and main course for €15.00. The choice for both courses is a little constrained but at that price it seems unfair to quibble. However maybe they should offer one or two more ' meaty' dishes at an additional cost to provide for a wider variety of tastes. We all had un-dyed smoked haddock for the main course, and very good it was and well presented. The atmosphere is cheerful and busy, and staff were cheerful and attentive. We will be back

Danny Minnie's
Annagry, The Rosses, Crolly, Donegal

Visited Danny Minnie's recently. We had been told that there was a new menu. € 39.00 for a set three course meal. This was rather un-adventureous having chicken, salmon, steak and confit of duck leg as the main courses. However when the food arrived it was good and well presented. However at this price we felt that the menu should have offered some more of the local seafood.

Chi Asian Restaurant
9 Georges Avenue, Blackrock, Dublin

Chi is providing a special meal for 49.95. Two courses and a bottle of wine for two people. We three visited and had the special while the other ate from the A La Carte. The Special was very good - we shared a starter platter and had stir fried beef for the main. Our friend hd the soft shell crabs starter ("Excellent' was the verdict). Enjoyable evening and we will return

Shakira Indian Cuisine
47 Lower Georges Street, South Dublin, Dun Laoghaire, Dublin

This is a great place for good food at very reasonable prices. The early bird costs € 14.95 - being popadums, starter and main course. If you don't want the early bird you can have a starter and main for a few Euro more. Bring your own wine and there is NO corkage charge. The staff are friendly and efficient. We attend regularly, and in the current climate this place is to be highly recommended if you wish to dine well at little cost The decor is 'homely' and the access is a little steep, but over all its is a very good package
