As I had been at Kafka before I was happy to return. However on this occasion I was disappointed. I had calamari to start and the \'crispy\' batter was hard. I had asked to have a main course portion of the feta parcels as I don\'t eat meat this was the best option for me. However I was told I could only have that portion size but with a salad. It was only OK. My friend had a better meal of chicken wings and a Caesar salad. Both of which she really liked. It was also expensive for what we had.

Fish Shack Cafe - Parliament Street
2 Parliament Street, Temple Bar, Dublin, City Centre South, Dublin

Its great to get an all fish restaurant and of such good quality there is a really good selection of dishes. We had a platter of starters that were part of a deal that we had and it was excellent. 4 different ones to share. The crab we exceptionally fresh and the prawns really nicely grilled. I followed with smokies and my husband had scampi. Both were lovely. Wine was good but a bit pricey. Overall a very good meal and hope to see you soon.

Union 8
740 South Circular Rd, Kilmainham, Dublin 8, Kilmainham, Dublin

It's lovely to have a local restaurant and I know we will be returning to this one. While the menu is short and limited for vegetarians what is on the menu all looked very tasty. Our own starter dishes of scallops & black pudding and a trio of beetroot with a goats cheese were both delicious. We both had the daily fish special which on that night was pan roasted sole with crispy capers, salad and baby potatoes. The sole was really well cooked and flavorsome. Wine is a bit expensive but what we had didn't disappoint. The restaurant is very stylish and a lot of effort has gone into making it an attractive venue to meet and eat.

Foam Cafe
24 Strand Street Great, Italian Quarter, Dublin

I visited Foam with 2 friends and overall were very satisfied with our meal. My 2 friends had soup to start with which they were very pleased and I had a bowl of olives. My salad Nicoise for mains was one of the best I have had. My friends very also very pleased with a salmon pasta. The other dish was 2 starters was good but relied a lot on bread. Atmosphere is good and staff very pleasant. Also very good value.

Davy Byrnes
21 Duke Street, City Centre South, Dublin

We eat here occasionally as it is a favourite of a friend. As a Dublin pub it has a great atmosphere and beautiful decor. food is good pub fare - I had a lovely crab salad - really fresh crab which can be hard to get. My friends had fish and chips, a salmon and bearnaise tart and a tagliatelle carbonara. All were very pleased. For a pub it also has a very good and reasonable wine list. I know I will be back.

Banyi Japanese Dining
4 Bedford Row, Temple Bar, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

4 of us dined at Banyi and had a really good meal. The flavours were so good and presentation so colourful. We had 4 different starters so we could share. My favourites were the deep fried tuna and avocado rolls and the Japanese seaweed salad. All were good though. The seabass was cooked crispy with lovely stir fried vegetables. Others had sushi rolls all of which were very flavoursome. SService was attentive and friendly and all in all it was very good value for money.

The Larder Restaurant
8 Parliament Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

11 of us visited The Larder last week and had a lovely meal. There was quite a mix of dishes ordered and we were all happy. I had the olives and dips that came with crusty bread and I had cod to follow with puy lentils and a mushroom veloute. Service was very attentive and it was no trouble to change an ingredient when requested. This was my second visit to the Larder and I will be returning.

KC Peaches Wine Cave Nassau St
28-29 Nassau St, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

We had a lovely meal here for a birthday celebration. Service is really friendly and welcoming. I love fresh figs which were available for starters and were adjusted for me to make them vegetarian. They were really good. My husband had the anti pasta board which had a great selection of meat and cheese. I followed with hake with a very tasty crumb and delicous gratin potatoes. My husband enjoyed a lovely plate of scallops. All in all -a great meal.

Kafka (Dublin)
236 Lower Rathmines Road, Dublin 6, Rathmines, Dublin

we had a lovely dinner here to celebrate Mother's Day. There was a good and varied menu. We shared mussels, calamari and the prawn spring rolls to start all of which were very good. Duck, Jamaican Chicken and Brie followed - all of which were excellent. Sides are a bit expensive, especially when they are fairly ordinary. All in all though we were pleased and I will be returning.

Jerusalem Restaurant
77 Camden Street Lwr., Dublin 2, Camden Street, Dublin

We had a really good night at Jerusalem recently. I love Lebanese food and this was of very high standard. Menu is varied and good for veggies. Service was friendly and while I was waiting for my partner the waitress kindly brought me nibbles. We will definitely be returning.

Brasserie 7
The Capel Building, Capel Street, Dublin 1, City Centre North, Dublin

I dined at Brasserie 7 with 4 friends last week. It was not my first occasion and in all instances I have been very happy with this restaurant. The menu has a good selection and the food is nicely cooked. I had the blue cheese and onion tart to start and it was delicious. There was lots of good cheese and it was nicely complimented by the carmalised onion. My tuna that followed was also great with lots of fruity tastes. Service is always with smile.
