Made our first visit to this compact basement restaurant which we had been meaning to try for some time. Their early bird menu is excellent value and our waiter was wonderful. The prawn starter was delicious. One minor quibble, the sauté rosemary potatoes could have been crispier. Definitely will be back.

Peperina Bistro Garden
25 Dunville Avenue, Dublin 6, Ranelagh, Dublin

We dined here last Saturday and had a very enjoyable experience. we arrived at 6.30 and availed of the early bird menu €22 for 2 courses and €25 for 3. Given the early hour there very few other diners but it began to fill up as the evening progressed. The early menu is quite short with just 4 choices for each course and the steak and fix have supplementary charges. The wine list is also very concise with about 6 reds, 6 whites and 2 rosés.The restaurant is bright and airy, basic but comfortable. The service was very friendly and relaxed but could do a bit more attention to the craft of being a good waiter. Such as remembering who ordered which dish, particularly, where there is only a small number of diners. My wife's buffalo wings were nice but not a wow. My calamari were fantastic. Beautifully cooked with a lovely tangy sauce on the side. We both went for the hake which again was perfectly cooked and came with a very nice ratatouille and delicious baby new potatoes. My lemon posset and raspberry was great end to a wonderful meal but the wife's panacotta was a bit pedestrian. Overall a very good dinner. Friendly staff. Excellent value for money and would recommend it
