Will definitely return! At last a restaurant offering a great atmosphere of comfort and the ability to hear the conversation in a group. Visited here with a party of 5 people and all agreed it has lovely atmosphere, really great food, great menu, great wine selection, prices are average for Dublin restaurants, if some sides a little above average. Service friendly and professional. A lovely evening....

Rotten restaurant, the worst I've ever been in. Waited one hour and 15 mins for any food to arrive, didn’t even offer poppadums or an explanation on delay. All tables around us complaining about having to wait one party waited two hours for any food they had a boy of about 7 and an elderly couple, they were tourists and had to eat there as every where else was busy. Three staff waiting on the entire restaurant and they really didn’t care about service at all. When asked about delays all they said was kitchen was busy on Sat night. Never again!!!!!

Monto Caffe
45 Sundrive Road, Crumlin, Crumlin, Dublin

In Crumlin beside the Stone Boat . The Monto really is a great little place, had lunch here, pasta and a cake and coffe to follow, it has got to be one of the most reasonably priced cafes around. Service is friendly and they are very child friendly too. The big plasma screen with TV on is a bit of an intrusion though. The toilets could probably do with a bit of improvement too as there is only one. The reasonable prices will make me go back again and try dinner with BYO.

The Pines Cafe Bar and Restaurant
196 Whitehall Road, South Dublin, Terenure, Dublin

The menu here is very good and the food is nice, good size portions and great desserts but I still feel its expensive for a day time eat in a pub. When most restaurants are offering value deals the menu here is essentially a la carte and it can be pricey. To say its in Terenure as well is a bit of a stretch as the area really is Perrystown/Manor Estate so for a local pub I think they should offer better value for money.

The Ballymore Inn
Main Street, Ballymore Eustace, Kildare

Had lunch here today. Its expensive and overall we were not impressed with the place at all. I'll tell you why and if you can follow me fair play to you because its like a 3 card trick! We were given a set menu and an a la carte menu. Items on the set menu advertised as 2 courses for 24.95 were also on the a la carte but the set menu worked out more expensive. My main course was on both menus and dessert came on a seperate menu. The bill came with my main course charged at 19.90 (not advertised but they said that is what they charge if they decide to take it off the set menu). I was charged 5.00 euro for the dessert. I have no idea where this price came from, not advertised anywhere and all desserts on dessert menu are 6.50. So my lunch should have been 22.40 but they were charging me 24.90 euro. We queried the bill and the waitress went bright red in the face. I felt for her because I too would be embarassed having to present someone with something I couldn't explain. Someone else came with a revised bill and apologised not for over charging us but for the delay in sorting the bill. Again I pointed out the discrepency and the girl kept saying"I understand" So I asked her what they were going to do about it. She said they would have to do something and she would talk to the Manager and have him call me. I would love to know the logic but really see it as a very cheap shot to over charge customers. We had no alcohol with our meal so copped it. I have just checked their web site and they have the set menu advertised as 2 courses at 18.50 euro. Far from happy with this place and very annoyed overall.

Kilkenny Restaurant & Cafe
1st Floor, 5/6 Nassau Street, City Centre South, Dublin

Went here as they had an offer advertised for tea or coffee and a scone for 4.00 euro all morning. Best thing about this place is they have newspapers on display for customer use. However I bought a fruit scone and it is the first time in my life I have ever returned a scone. It was like chalk. Staff were very good and apologised and offered me another one. Tried a different type which was a bit more edible but not great. Girl was hoovering beside me as I had my meal. Very annoying. Really would not go back here again.

The Morgue
Main St, Templeogue Village, Templeogue, Dublin

Ended up here after a christening on a Sunday. Really don't like the atmosphere at all when there is a carvery on. Bit like a cattle market and there are not much staff to help out if you have kids trays etc and trying to find a seat. The food is ok portions are big but I still think that 13 euro for a carvery dinner is way too expensive. Desserts are not great. Wouldn't rush back.

Little Jerusalem - Rathmines
3 Wynnefield Road, Dublin 6 , Rathmines, Dublin

Everything about this place is good. Food is all good and tasty. Very personal feel to the service we asked for more bread and were not charged extra. BYO is really great and means you can have a good night out without breaking the bank. Would love to see more of these little places around as it makes a night out more casual. Will go back

Meghna Tandoori
8-12 Terenure Place, Dublin 6, Terenure, Dublin

A group of us ate here and every one was happy with their meal. Place is very comfortable to eat in especially for a group, music not too loud and you can have a good chat and laugh. Will be back.

JD's Steakhouse
4 Rathfarnham Road, Dublin 6W, Terenure, Dublin

Really nice place and ticks all the boxes. Steaks are lovely, desserts are yummy and the early bird is good value. 17.95 for a 3 course. . They offer children eat free by 4pm on Sunday which we just missed but will go back again soon.

18 Suffolk Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Had lunch here with one other person. He ordered ciabatta which was fine. The fries with it though were not cooked fully. String fries very limp and hard in the middle. My pasta was really not nice. Chicken with mushroom. The sauce was congealed and the entire dish was cold in some places. The waitress who served us was really friendly. Coffee was fine but I wouldn't return.

Brambles Café Bistro
102-104 Terenure Road North, Terenure, Dublin

Best thing about this restaurant in my opinion is the comfort and atmosphere. Having said that everything else scores less. Food is alright although I had tempura of lemon sole to start and did not finish it because the batter was not done very well. Service was quite slow even though the restaurant was not very busy and there seemed to be enough staff on. We did not bother ordering desserts or coffees as we did not want to wait any longer. There is definately room for improvement as it is a comfortable space but at the fixed price menu there should be a better quality of choice also.

Unit 4 Old River House, Templeogue, Dublin

Lunch menu excellent value for money Very big portions and friendly service, will go back for the lunch two courses and a glass of wine for 9.95 euro... hard to beat!

94-96 Terenure Road, Dublin 6 , Terenure, Dublin

Had booked early bird here last night, heard great things about the food here. We got a takeaway from here last week and the food was great, however last night in the restaurant i found my main chicken dish bland and tastless. I had booked the early bird on the phone as it seems like good value. We had a sitting at 7pm however when the bill came for 5 of us we were billed full price. I queried this and was told we did not order until 7.30pm which was not the case, one of our party arrived shortly after 7pm but a waiter didn't come to take our orders till close to 7.30pm. I was very annoyed about this as the early bird menu is not separate on the a la carte, the two early bird price options are just listed and you can order two or three courses from the a la carte. I said the waiter should have said the early bird was finished as people should know what they are paying for and that when I booked the party on the phone I had stressed we were coming for the early bird. They said that this time they would give us the early bird. Felt this could have been managed a lot better. All in all not happy with this experience at all and would not rush back.

92 Terenure Road North, Dublin 6W, Terenure, Dublin

The Lunch is good value for Money. Food has improved here had the tuna salad and spaghetti bolognaise, salad portion was ok size but pasta was good, have to say, spaghetti done al dente. Very tasty food so improvement there. My friend had cod which he enjoyed too. Tables are very close together though and impossible to have a conversation without next table listening in. Thing I don't like is the service although it was prompt yesterday it is not friendly and girl who served us was terse and unfriendly. Think this place is expensive at night but lunch is good value.

Avoca Cafe (Suffolk Street)
Avoca, 11 Suffolk Street, City Centre South, Dublin

Had the goats cheese tart which was not tasty at all. Quite a bitter taste. Food is overpriced for lunch. some staff very nice but I was trying to get my toddler son to come with me to the table and a waitress who was walking behind me trying to pass me carrying two coffees said to me "if you don't mind" whatever that meant. felt she could have stood to one side while I turned my child around to get him to the table. very rude. overall feel this place is overrated. Scones are the best thing in it but at 2.95 each are expensive

5 Bayview, Bettystown, Meath

Lovely location for a restaurant and the house its in is very nicely styled. Great views of the beach but unfortunately Bettystown beach has cars parked all over it so its like looking at the M50 in grid lock. A real shame. Food was very nice here but the only drawback was the slow service. We had a toddler and just going in for a bite of lunch took 2 hours nice if you can do it but toddlers don't have that staying power. Also served by 4 different people and when I got dessert it was really a very small slice of cake and the ice cream had melted beside it. not good for 5.50 euro so I sent it back which is something I have never done in a restaurant. It was not a problem getting it changed but it was an annoyance. I would go back for the dinner menu as the value menu is a good offer.

Chai Yo
100 Lower Baggot street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

First time here and will return for the lunch menu. Food is really delicious and service great. Its very relaxed downstairs and wine list very good. No complaints!

The Courtyard Cafe
Pastoral Centre, Rossmore Road, South Dublin, Templeogue, Dublin

Terrible place! Visited here a couple of times only on the invitation of friends with small children. The staff are sour and who are completely intolerant of children and not shy about giving out to them about the slightest thing. The noise level is so high when its busy that you cannot hear conversation, its like a bird cage. Would not go back and the coffee was rotten!

Bits and Pizzas
15 Patrick Street, Dun Laoghaire, Dun Laoghaire, Dublin

Really lovely pizza though pricey at 15 euro for one. Baked potatos are lovely too. Busy at lunchtime but served quickly and will be back again.

The Harbour Master Restaurant & Bar
Custom House Dock, I.F.S.C Dublin 1, IFSC, Dublin

Never again! Worst thing about this place is the smell from the toilets which hits you at the top of the stairs. One toilet was blocked and there was a lot of toilet roll thrown around. No cleaning roster on the back of the door so I told a staff member the toilets needed attending to. Overall a very dirty place. Service was so bad, we had to ask for extra plates, they were put on table and we had to set the table ourselves. Waitress was so sullen during the whole meal she was a pain! One of my friends even told her the chicken wings were delicious to elicit some response from her but she said nothing! So grumpy. Food was mediocre except the chicken wings were very good. Whole time we were there ( in the restaurant at the back) staff were scraping chairs along the floor. When served one of our friends got her main course along with all the starters, It was a hot dish and when she said she ordered it as a main, a different waitress gave her a smile and said sorry but left the dish on the table to get cold. Complete disaster of a place and overall it is very dirty. Believe the group who owns it is in receivership and I am not surprised.

Campo de' Fiori Bistro Market
1 Albert Avenue, Bray, Co. Wicklow, Bray, Wicklow

Very enjoyable meal here, food very good and will return. Just found one of the chicken dishes we got a bit pricey at 17.00 euro as portions are not huge and they forgot to serve us one dessert but billed for it, but overall compensation with the very good food and friendliness of staff. would recommend

Chrysanthemum Chinese Restaurant
Unit 1 Old Orchard Inn, Butterfield Ave, Dublin 14, Rathfarnham, Dublin

Very expensive and not good value, wouldn't consider going back again

Dunne And Crescenzi (South Frederick Street)
14-16 South Frederick Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Terrible lunch here and only went as someone I hadn't met for ages wanted to go. Had had a similar bad lunch in the Dundrum branch a month previously. Had pasta which was so bad, tasteless, bland food. Service so slow, every time we needed something we had to ask, even for the menus! Would not go back again and felt so strongly that this was a bad lunch had hoped to write and complain to the restaurant, but never got the time.

St Andrew Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Early bird is great value here, food is very good and great atmosphere in a great location. Service could be improved a bit but thats the only fault I would have with it.

Good World Chinese Restaurant
18 South Great Georges Street, Dublin 2 , City Centre South, Dublin

Surprised at the good comments about this restaurant. We ate here on the spur of the moment and really I feel the restaurant could have been a lot better. First impression on walking through the door is that it hasn't changed much in years and just inside the front door could do with a good clean up and a lick of paint. Service was good but they put us at a table for two that was too big and we asked to change when the table next to us became free minutes after we sat down. Food was very bland ordered duck and chicken dishes and really would have got better from the local chinese takeaway. Wont be back in a hurry

Siam Thai (Dundrum)
Dundrum Town Centre, South Dublin, Dundrum, Dublin

Very pricey as far as Im concerned. Two main courses, one beer and one dessert cost 52 euro. Service not great night we were there. The food was good but I think it is very expensive for what you get.

Royal Tandoori
95 Terenure Road North, South Dublin, Terenure, Dublin

Terrible Terrible Terrible - don't go if you are hungry! We ate with a group of friends on Sat night last. The table was booked for 8.30pm. My husband and I were seated at 8.35pm and we ordered a selection of starters so there would be something to nibble on when our friends arrived. They all arrived by 8.45pm. No waiter came to take our order and after 15 mins we asked for our orders to be taken. The starters arrived at 10.10pm and the mains at 10.45pm. 2 hours and 10 mins after we arrived. There were a few takeaway customers going through the restaurant and we could see they were being served slowly as well but they still got there food before us. We were at no time offered any apology for the delay and in actual fact they asked us all to move the table down a bit towards the door to facilitate another table. We had no problem doing that but it meant that one of our friends was seated next to the door which wouldn't close properly and so was seated in a very cold draught for the night. This restaurant is a complete disaster in my opinion and wild horses wouldn't drag me back there ever again....

The Cedar Tree
11a St Andrews Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Had the early bird (3 courses) here and it was good value, meal for two with a bottle of Lebenese House wine (very good) 63 euro in total. Food and service good, did like the atmospher, only complaint was when the restaurant started to fill up the music was turned up loud. Asked for it to be turned down as couldn't hear my friend across the table. They did turn it down.

Rolys Bistro
7 Ballsbridge Terrace, Dublin, Ballsbridge, Dublin

I had lunch here 25th of June. Overall I would not rate this place highly. We had the set lunch which is good value and the quality of the food was good but I did expect it to be better. The vegetables were not great, potatoes quite bland in taste, cabbage done in cream which was very tasteless, puree carrots with some herb which it could have tasted better without. The duck was good and cooked well. Service in this restaurant was very bad in my opinion, we were served by at least 8 different people, the first person to give us menus gave us no greeting and did not explain about specials of the day. We asked for a jug of water which we never got. We were seated in an area containing 3 tables which had no atmosphere at all and when other people were seated around us we could not hear our own conversation. Most sounds were of chairs being scraped on the floor and of cutlery hitting the plates, not a good atmosphere for a comfortable lunch.
