Oscars Cafe Bar Smithfield
Number 6, Smithfield Square, Smithfield, Dublin

Enjoy a visit to Oscars every now & then. I usually have the goats cheese salad as it\'s really fresh & tasty but this time was a bit dissapointed. They have halved the size of the portion of goats cheese & loaded in extra salad! Cop on Oscars! Don\'t let ur standards slip. People notice portion sizes. Won\'t be in a hurry back. Such a pity but there is lots of other places to eat in the area.

Dante (Blanchardstown)
Blanchardstown Shopping Centre, Dublin 15, Blanchardstown, Dublin

Had vouchers for here and decided to use them, could only order from the a la carte menu... very disappointing food. Pizza was ok, the carbonara was dreadful and I had chicken & broccoli pasta( very little chicken in it) As a result will not be returning. The staff were all very pleasent and helpful but the food was a big let down.

Beckett's
Cooldrinagh House, Leixlip, Kildare

Second visit here and it really is a lovely place. Got a voucher for €49 on menupages & got 3 courses plus T/coffee. Food was truly beautiful. Staff all very pleasant and restaurant is well laid out. Really worth a visit and would highly recommend.

Taco Taco
Unit 19 Epicurean Food Hall, Liffey Street Lower, City Centre North, Dublin

Our second visit here. Disappointed. They have done away with the combo meals which were great value. The food is decent but the drinks are way overpriced. For a small bottle of beer you will pay €5.50. That\'s a huge markup. The restaurant was very quiet and doing specials midweek would get paying customers through the door. I do like the place and the staff are good but it\'s not great value for money.

Kavanagh's 'The Gravediggers'
1 Prospect Square, Glasnevin, Glasnevin, Dublin

A quiet Tuesday evening so atmosphere was a little lacking. The staff are so friendly and chatty. From the barman to the waiting staff to the chef it was a great evening. I had a bowl of the coddle and we also had three plates of tapas Irish spring rolls, patatas bravas and Colcannon with smoked cheese before a mouthwatering Orange Almond and Chocolate mousse. The Guinness is pure cream and we cannot wait to visit again. Lovely old pub.

10 people for a birthday meal. Nice large round table and the food was excellent. The set menus are a good option as they give you a couple of options to chop and change. Nice friendly staff here and it was a pleasant night.

1st time visiting here. A queue outside is generally a good sign. 3 meals with drinks for €47. The food was absolutely delicious. Service was very good and there was a good atmosphere. I had the Mexican eggs with pulled pork. My daughter had eggs benedict and my wife had the French toast. All were delicious. We will return.

Cinnamon Garden Restaurant
Main Street, Ashbourne, Above Molly's Pub, Ashbourne, Meath

Best Indian meal we have ever had. Great service. Friendly staff. Delicious food. The Cinnamon lamb fry as starter or main is beautiful. Two lamb dishes where the lamb literally fell apart. A Goan fish curry which wasn't spicy but had great flavour. Great atmosphere in here. Only down side for me was the music. I love authentic music in restaurants so I would have loved Indian music. I can't wait to return here. Treat yourself.

Dada Restaurant
45 South William Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

It's been a while since we have been here so we called in for lunch. €13.90 for two courses. We sat in the front of the restaurant and all tables were in use with plenty of different languages. Nice authentic music. I had chicken wings in five spices (Moroccan) and my wife had chicken liver. I don't like liver and I had three pieces. Delicious. The wings were the best I have ever tasted. Tender and full of flavour. Mains were Spicy Hake Fillet with couscous and salad. A few bones but the piece of hake was large and delicious. I had braised chicken tagine. This came in a fantastic sauce with olives and the potatoes drenched in the sauce. The chichen was so tender. two glasses of wine and a complimentary mint tea. I will not be leaving it so long again to visit. I love this place. It's authentic athmospheric and great value. Treat yourself.

Brasserie 7
The Capel Building, Capel Street, Dublin 1, City Centre North, Dublin

Came here on a menupages deal of 2 course lunch & wine for €19. Good value, I had starter of Tomatoe soup which was very good my wife had Super Salad which was very fresh and good. Mains were Pulled Pork Stew which I had to send back as it was not very hot but this could have been down to the sour cream and avacado in it which came from the chiller. It was served with nachos and was delicious. My wife had spicy Goulash and this also was hearty and tasty. Maybe a small bowl of rice on the side would be good. Two desserts of Lemon Posset with coconut and lime with amaretti biscuit and a Cointreau & Dark Chocolate pot with a delicious berry ice cream and two coffees. €17 for the desserts and coffees. Food is good wholesome and tasty. The bathrooms were spotless.

The Larder Restaurant
8 Parliament Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Just back from lunch with my wife.We had eaten here a few months ago and enjoyed it. A starter of breads dips and olives was nice and light. Mushrooms in a mild oriental spice. My wife had chicken & chorizo penne which was beautifully seasoned and a slight chorizo flavour which wasn't overpowering. I had beef tacos which were 3 small tacos side green salad and rice. The beef was so tender it literally melted in the mouth and the sour cream topping was perfect with it. A bakewell tart to share with one coffee, a french coffee and a glass of wine. Total bill was €43.70. This place is well worth a visit.

Brasserie Sixty6
66/67 Great South Georges Street, Dublin 2 , City Centre South, Dublin

Unfortunately I can only give a 5 star rating for service. A lovely pleasant lady from Brazil. Food is excellent and very tasty. Arrived just after lunch so it was quiet. We were the only people in the restaurant at one stage hence the lower rating for atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit.

Soulful Bistro
46 Manor Street, North Dublin , Stoneybatter, Dublin

Had a beautiful meal here last night on a menpages voucher. There is a new menu and the choice is lovely. Our starters were mackerel with tomato & leek risotto with quail, mains were beef cheek,(so tender). & salmon, desserts were chocolate tart & a basil and strawberry soup which were both amazing. Finished off with baileys coffees. YumYum. Great night.

Milano (Blanchardstown)
Blanchardstown Centre, Dublin 15, Blanchardstown, Dublin

Went here on Friday lunchtime and was surprised to find it was not too busy, got a table and the waiter was very helpful. The food was very nice, if a tad overpriced, and at €82 for 3 it was an expensive lunch. A pity they don't do a better value lunch menu and they might find they would fill the seats in this restaurant. Overall a nice lunch.

The Phoenix Court Restaurant
Blackhorse Avenue (Over Cummiskey's), North Dublin, Dublin 7, Navan Road, Dublin

Bought a menu pages voucher for €22.50 for a 4 course meal. Nice place and you are given a different menu from the standard one. I had spring rolls to start & my partner had shredded chicken, both lovely, then king do chicken & beef in black pepper sauce, both tasty. Scoops of ice cream & coffees to finish. Not bad for a midweek night out but you get what you pay for, nothing special, I've bought Menupages vouchers for other places before & have really enjoyed not being made feel any different from other customers in the restaurant eg. menu so it would be nice to be able to order from their main menu to a certain price.

profile_review

Salmon Leap Inn
Leixlip Road, Leixlip, Kildare

Came here last night for a girls night & loved the comfortable, homely suroundings. We just wanted some sharing food rather than a full course menu. It was quite limited but we had chicken wings, fish gojons and sliders all with chips. The only let down was the fish was very greasy. We decided to try the desserts and the creme brulee & brownies were to die for! All in all a lovely night in relaxed surroundings and very pleasent staff. Will absolutly be returning.

Had food here when the place opened, and it was great. However things have slipped a bit. Had breakfast here this week and while the food was fine felt the service was a let down. Pity really as its a nice place to eat in among fast food joints. Hope they get back to basics....

Brasserie Sixty6

Myself and my wife used a Menupages voucher here today. Buy 1 main course get 1 free. I had Hereford sirloin served with King prawns Spicy wedges and a salsa my wife had rotisserie chicken with mash stuffing & roasted veg. Both were superb. We had a coconut cream pie dessert to share. Wow. It was sublime. 1 glass of wine and two coffees. €29. Great value. Lovely surroundings and very easy relaxing music. But the best part of the visit was our server. I think her name is Rosa ( looking at the receipt). She is a delightful happy person who delighted in telling us about the food. I will return for the food and ambience but especially for the staff. Well done.

Earth & Vine Restaurant at Castleknock Hotel
Castleknock Hotel, Porterstown Road, West Dublin, Castleknock, Dublin

Lovely hotel and looked forward to Afternoon Tea here. There was a wedding on & we were brought into the restaurant. It was empty. Waited a while for our coffee and the waiter explained about the Wedding being on! The food was delightful but again waited a good 15 mins for a second coffee. The staff were lovely as was the food, just felt a little left behind because of the wedding! If doing it again would definitly ask if there was a function on before booking it.

Indie Spice Grill
Burgundy House, New Street, North Co. Dublin, Swords, Dublin

Sunday lunch menu here is great value. €18.95 for three courses. I had Chicken Tikka starters followed by Lamb Achari. Deliciously hot & spicy. My wife had Veggie Pakora and Chicken Jalfrezi. We both had vanilla ice cream dessert and the ice cream was rich and creamy. The service was a bit lacking. Starters were just put in front of us and the plates for the mains were cold. The music was Indie and the restaurant should have some authentic Indian music. Very quiet when we visited. The food here is some of the best I have tasted in any Indian restaurant anywhere. We will return and hopefully the little things that have slipped will be sorted. A great restaurant.

I can't fault this place.Just returned from a dinner with my wife. Great place and staff. Staff are so attentive and the decor is lovely and fresh and warm. 2 Starters of Oat crusted Mackerel with rhubarb and Steam cooked ham hock with pear and sultana chutney. 2 mains of Lamb shank with mash whole baby carrots and green beans and healthy fish & chips. Desserts were white chocolate and raspberry brownie in Raspberry soup and a bread & butter pudding. The food is wholesome delicious and cooked to perfection. A great neighborhood restaurant. Myself and my wife saw Noah & Co and decided to have breakfast there. WE were told that breakfast finished at 12 noon and it was two minutes to twelve. No problem to the staff. Very friendly and attentive staff.A decanter of iced and lemon water was placed on the table as we sat down. Nice decor. Free coffee or tea with breakfast which is a great touch. The menu is really good. I had the three egg omelette with Black pudding mushroom and potatoes and my wife had eggs benedict with parma ham and rocket. Both were amazing. Keep an eye on this company as they will be very successful if they continue to serve great food like this. Well done Noah & Co.

Burgundy House, New Street, North Co. Dublin, Swords, Dublin

I last visited in November 2013. It was time to repay them a visit. It was quiet so atmosphere was a bit lacking. three courses on a Sunday for €18.95. Fabulous Chicken tikka starter and Chicken Jalfrezi for me and my wife had Veg Pakora with Lamb rogan josh. Everything was fantastic. Baileys cheesecake and a Vanilla ice cream with a complimentary Sambuca or Baileys. This is possibly the best Indian food I have tasted in a long time. Well worth a visit.

Went here on Sat evening and the place was quite busy. Told there was a waiting list but a few tables were free. We were seated less than 5 mins later, some waiting list!! Anyway the food was good but I have to say a bit overpriced. Last time I was here they served me a cold pizza, so decided to try a salad. The overall experience was ok. The staff were very helpful but it will be some time before I return.

Wrights Anglers Rest
Strawberry Beds, West Dublin, Dublin 20, Chapelizod, Dublin

Booked a table for 5 people as a birthday treat for my Father. We booked for 6pm and were surprised not to be offered the early bird option which is 4-7 mon to fri. When we asked it was an inconvenience. However the food was lovely all round. A lot of service staff hovering around & as a result we were constantly asked by different staff if all was ok. Pleasent surroundings and not a bad deal of 2courses for €19.99 or 3courses for €24.95.

Indie Spice Grill
Burgundy House, New Street, North Co. Dublin, Swords, Dublin

We came across this gem by accident as it is off the main street in swords. Thankfully we decided to go in and try it due to the awards on the wall outside. 2 courses for €8.95. I had Sheek Kebab starter and Lamb Balti my wife had Veg Pakora and chicken Korma. The spices in both starters were beautifully balanced and both dishes were excellent. The chicken korma was rich and so so creamy. I have never had lamb as tender as this in the Balti. It just melted in the mouth. The peshwari naan was excellent too.Service was great and the decor, music and lighting are subdued and comfortable. 2 starters 2 mains, a peshwari naan and a large sparkling water fo €24.98. This is one to visit and we look forward to a return.

Jamie's Italian
Pembroke District, Dundrum Shopping Centre, Dublin 14 , Dundrum, Dublin

Decided to try Jamies place with my sister for lunch, The place was quite empty and we were seated in the most uncomfortable chairs ever. I asked to be moved to a more comfortable booth as there were a few free.and this seemed to cause confusion. after much dithering we moved & ordered our food. Arancini to share as starter, quite nice, Jamies Italian Burger (which we later found out came on its own, no side salad or chips €13.95???) & Tagliatelle bolognese €13.75. OVERPRICED. 1 desert to share & 2 coffees. Bill just shy of €50. Can't say I will return again soon as the experience was nothing special. There are some other very nice restaurants in Dundrum with better food & service.

The Green Hen
33 Exchequer street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Decided to book this restaurant for a romantic 25th wedding anniversary meal & we were not dissapointed. Firstly a complimentary glass of bubbly was presented to us when we were seated, nice touch. The food was delicious, goats cheese fig & beetroot salad, braised lambs kidneys to start, Monkfish and also pork 3 ways, both fab. Too full for desert so a champagne mojito and a dark & stormy cocktail was a nice finish to the meal. €82 for all. The service was perfect. Only thing was the place was extremely warm and needed air con to make it more comforable but it never materialized. Will definitely return!

The Larder Restaurant
8 Parliament Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

My wife and I were looking for a spot for lunch and just came across The Larder. It looked nice and the lunch menu was appealing. There was a nice buzz to the place as lunch time was just finishing. The decor is nice here with brick walls and nice music. The 2 course lunch is €10.95 and 3 courses €12.95. We both had the Thai Hotpot starters. These are served in jars and the flavours were wonderful. My wife had King Prawn Tagliatelle €2 supplement and it was excellent. I had the dish of the week, Massaman curry. The flavours were amazing. A large bottle of sparkling water and the bill was €27.80 The service is very friendly and we look forward to returning for an evening meal. Great place.

La Banca Ristorante
Main Street, Lucan Village, Lucan, Dublin

1st visit here. The Sunday lunch menu is €22.95 pps for 3 courses. Service was very good. I had pork & garlic pate and the toast and sauce with this all excellent. My wife had chicken wings, lovely flavour without being overbearing. My main was fish gougons with homemade chips and green leaf salad. Excellent. My wifes main was stuffed chicken breast with mash, mixed veg and mushrooms. All fab. My dessert was chocolate & caramel eclair and my wife had warm death by chocolate, Really good. The place needs a loving touch with the decor. Its bland all along one side of the restaurant- cream coloured walls with little to break it. The music needs to be worked on too. 8 songs replaying over & over. Maybe some instrumental/guitar easy listening music. We will definitely return.

Wow, wow wow. 1st visit here and most definitely wont be the last.A three course lunch for €19. My wife and I called in today for lunch and it was excellent. Very friendly staff showed us to our table and a young lady was most informative about the menu. I had crab & smoked salmon rolls served with pickled vegetable and polenta deep fried balls. My main was a grilled beef burger which I asked for sweet potatoe wedges rather than chips. No problem. Devine and nicely spiced. My wife had goats cheese with beetroot salad and glazed figs. Her main was supreme of chicken served with herb mash. Both were declared amazing. Our desserts were white chocolate parfait with blackberry sorbet and a spiced apple cake with apple sorbet. All in all it was a great meal. Nice background music made for a lovely atmosphere.

Phoenix Park Tea Rooms
Beside Dublin Zoo, Chesterfield Avenue, City Centre North, Dublin

This is a lovely little place to enjoy the park, especially like today sitting outside in the sun. There is a carton provided for water for dogs and this is most welcome in the warm weather. The inside is quite small especially as you have to que through the centre of the room through the main door. It is always busy ath this time of year but the service is not great as the staff find it hard to move around. There are plenty of seats outside and much more room. We had 2 filter coffees and scones with cream & jam which were very nice and very reasonable. Coffees are only €2 each. Its nice that customers interact with each other and this gives a nice atmosphere. If only the staff would follow suit it would be great.

Crazy Crab Cafe Bistro
Kilmore Quay, Kilmore, Wexford

Lovely fish restaurant in Kilmore Quay. I scored low on the atmosphere as it was very early evening and we were the only customers. 2 dinners of haddock and chips and 1 dinner of cod & chips. The fish and chips were really good and tasty. The batter on the fish was lovely and light and crisp and the chips were cooked perfectly. Just right after a day walking around in the sea air. This is a little gem of a restaurant and the service was excellent. Lovely friendly staff. I will return.

Popped in to Nevilles last evening for dinner. It was very busy and we were lucky to get a table. This is a very popular spot especially during the holiday season. We both opted for the fish & chip dinner. The plate comes with a side order of lovely fresh salad, mushy peas and tartare sauce, The fish & chips come served on the plate wrapped in paper. The fish has the lightest batter and two good sized pieces were served to each of us. Lovely light tasty fish and the chips were very tasty too. Its really worth a visit and it wont break the bank. 2 large dinners and a sparkling water came to €28.

This is our favorite Indian takeaway. The food is delicious and never fails to be good all around. The open kitchen is great as you can see your food being prepared. We ordered the Bombay chicken curry and Lamb Rogan Josh, 2 Rice & nann bread. But anything we have ever ordered has been delicious. We like to try something new each time. They also have a loyalty card. Very friendly staff also if u cannot decide on which dish & how spicey they are.

Metro Cafe
43 South William Street, South William Street, Dublin

Every time we pass this restaurant, its always busy so we paid a lunchtime visit to check it out. We were promptly seated and our orders were taken. I had Bruschetta and the house special soup which was Chorizo & bean and my wife had a warm chicken salad. The bruschetta was covered in tomatoe and had great flavour. The soup was out of this world. Full of beans and delicious chorizo flavour without being overpowering. My wifes salad was served with French dressing and she loved it. A bottle of sparkling water and a freshly squeezed orange juice were our drinks. Total for this was €23 and was well worth it. We will return. The restaurant was just getting busy for the lunch period and the atmosphere was only starting to be felt when we left.

Highly recommend this restaurant as everyone felt each dish outdid expectations & there was something on the menu for everyones taste. Great night all around.

Had a girls night out on Friday night, Very busy and very few seats. We eventually got a seat & ordered food, Pate & toast, crab claws & prawns, chicken wings & chips, we asked for extra toast as there was a lot of pate and 2 slivers of toast. Having paid a bill at the end of the night of €96 including drinks, was very dissapointed to find we had been charged extra for the toast. Bad form! Can't understand how anyone could eat pate off a spoon, GIVE ENOUGH TOAST to cover the amount of pate. Lovely place & food but a let down in other areas!

The background music was blues/swing/jazz and was excellent. I had goats cheese creme brulee starter. It was exquisite. My wife had chicken & mango salad which she said was excellent. I had chargrilled steak with veg and my wife had fillet of hake. Both were very good. Desserts were chocolate brownie with ice cream and creme fraiche and a rhubarb and ginger cheesecake with vodka shot with rhubarb juice. Both excellent. The food was some of the best we have had and was great value with a lovely house white wine. Our server for most of the meal, while pleasant, twice spilled water and coffee. I had to mop up the water and while he replaced the saucer with the coffee spill, he left the table unwiped with coffee spills which I again had to clean. Overall it was worth the visit and we will return.

Kathmandu Kitchen Nepalese & Indian Restaurant
18 Dame Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

I used a Menupages voucher for a meal for two. €30 for 2 starters, 2 mains,2 sides & 2 glasses of wine. The atmosphere was subdued and I put this down to a quiet Tuesday night in town. The staff were so helpful and friendly and the service provided was very good There was authentic music in the background.. The food was excellent. Starters One chicken Tikka and one Fried fish. Two mains from the curry menu were exceptional. One Balti and a Nepalese curry dish. A mushroom fried rice dish that was full of mushrooms and a peshwari naan. Popadums with dips and 2 lovely glasses of wine. We will definitely return.

Hole In The Wall Phoenix Park
Blackhorse Avenue, Navan Road, Dublin

Myself, my wife and daughter ate here Saturday evening in the restaurant end. I love the feel of this bar as it is so cosy and welcoming. The decorations for Christmas are the best I have ever seen. You can buy wine from the wine shop in the bar. Over €10 and you dont pay corkage, excellent. 2 courses are €17.95 which is good value. My wife had pate and toats with extra brought over as there was a large amount of pate and followed by rack of lamb which was really well cooked and delicious. My daughter had spinach and ricotta tortellini which was very tasty but we poured a large saucer of oil off it and she didnt finish it. Taken off the bill and we were asked if something else would be preferred. I I had steak& kidney pie which was beautiful. We followed with chocolate brownie and ice cream and apple strudel with creme englaise. With a fine bottle of organic italian cabernet the bill came to €59. Not bad. A special word to our server Zac, a gentleman who could not do enough for us. A pleasure to be at your table.

Gotham South
4 Kilmacud Road Lower, Stillorgan, Dublin

Been here a few times and really enjoyed the food. Not a pizza lover myself but my daughter loves them. We shared 2 portions of calamari & loved them. Crispy and delicious. One ordered the lamb burger, another steak bagette & I got the fishcakes. All delicious. No desserts as we were full. Our waiter was very helpful. Only downside there seems to be managers on the floor also who are not as helful as the waiters. When I asked one of them for the bill she told me to" WAIT". Not very professional!

Hard Rock Cafe
12 Fleet Street, Dublin 2, City Centre, Temple Bar, Dublin

Brought our daughter here for a night out and also had tesco vouchers to spend here. Was looking forward to what we ordered but we were dissapointed. A large portion of chicken wings would not feed a budgie & were expensive. Mixed chicken & ribs were warm and my daughters chicken burger was a let down. My Husband ordered a pulled pork bun and he enjoyed that. We didnt order any dessert as so far it was all a let down. The bill came to €87 for 1 starter 3 mains, water , glass of wine & a soft drink. Never again.

Ate here for Sunday Lunch with my wife as we had wanted to try here for a while. Value meal 2 courses for €19.95. Starters of fish pate with toast was delicious. Mains of shoulder of lamb with veg & roast potatoes for my wife and I had beautiful stewed beef & the most delicious mash potatoes ever. Desserts were creme brulee & rice pudding with raspberies, both outstanding. Our waiter could not have been nicer. Will definatly be back as the food is to die for.

Have wanted to try the Cedar Tree for a long time so family decided to try for Sunday lunch. Was a bit worried about what to order but our waiter was so helpful. Decided to try 3 different starters & mains so that we could try different things. The beautiful spices were a pleasure and the food did not dissapoint. Even my teenage daughter could not complain. Lovely desserts to finish off. €16.95 for 3 courses, really good. Will definatly return for an evening meal, but its advisable to book as its always busy.

Greedy Goose

Decided to eat at the Greedy Goose last Sunday. Party of 3 and got a table no problem. Early bird menu for €19.95. Pick 3 courses from a good selection. But beware they are tasting portions. The presentation was fab but the quantity was a let down. Lovely pate for starter, tiny lamb hot pot, a spoon of custard with cream. Add an €3 supplement for surf & turf, tiniest piece of steak and 3 prawns on top. A huge let down. I think there is better value to be had in these times. Malahide has some lovely restaurants so shop around!

Backstage @ Bels CLOSED
Church Road, Greystones, Wicklow

Headed to Greystones for an Indian meal but it was closed, so started to look for somewhere nice to eat. Backstage @ Bels was open so we took a chance. Boy were we glad, the food was amazing and the service was great, friendly staff & nice surroundings. We shared a beautiful meat & cheese board served with fresh bread, and had fishcakes and pate afterwards. Desserts were rhubarb & ginger crumble and I had Eaton mess. Both were delicious, & coffee to finish. A resonable bill of Euro48. We will definatly return to this gem.

Was looking forward to trying this place and could never get the opening times to suit. While shopping in dundrum on Sunday, they closed from 2.30 to 5.30, so we waited around for the later time. Beautiful decor and excellent staff. A set menu was available for E20. A starter and main course with rice and nan bread. The food was delicious and the presentation was exceptional. The main menu was quite expensive so we would certainly return for the set menu again.

One ice cream dessert.A bottle of wine and a soft drink with 2 coffees. Total price was €75. The food was exquisite. They have a private seperate room for parties up to 10 people. Jewel in the Crown (South William Street)
5 South William Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Our family called in on Sunday afternoon to find the place almost empty, so we were a bit apprehensive as it was our first visit. 4 starters and 4 different mains, 2 with rice and 2 with naans. A glass of wine, 2 soft drinks and a sparkling water. 2 coffees and 2 teas. Total price was €47.The staff were most attentive and supplied the girls with extra after dinner mints. The food was among the best Indian food we have eaten. Nice to hear authentic Indian music as we ate. The only let down was the decor and the toilets. These need updating. We will most certainly return and it is a wonder more people dont seem to know about this Jewel.

The food was excellent as usual. It was freezing cold on Sunday but we were toasty when we were leaving. Wagamama's Blanchardstown
Unit 410, First Floor, Blanchardstown Retail Park 2, Dublin 15, Blanchardstown, Dublin

A great addition to Blanchardstown. Went in for bite to eat after some christmas shopping last night & really enjoyed it. There was a good crowd there and the staff were very attentive. I had a lovely dish called Yaki Soba & my partner had Ebi Raisukaree, both very nice dishes, clean plates at the end. They also have a beer & wine licence so great for a party or get together. Bill came to E35 with drinks so not bad in recession times. The only downside was that Captain Americas is next door & they have live bands on & is extremly loud in Wagamama's. Everything was fine till the band started up.Would recomend this place for kids too as it is so easy going. Good stuff!

Dada Restaurant
45 South William Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

My wife and I paid a visit last night without a booking and we were seated immediately. Great authentic decor and the place was almost full. Plenty of chatter around the tables which lent to the atmosphere. 2 Morroccan lagers and two starters 1 chicken kebab and o1 breads with dips. Excellent dips and spreads and the chicken was terrific. 2 Tagines-1 lamb with apricots & 1 spicey mince meatballs with and egg added & cooked in the heat of the tagine. Both went back empty. Service was good and polite. Tip- one starter of bread would have been enough for us. The bathrooms did let the restaurant down. While clean it could have been decorated in the style of the restaurant. Great food which would have been even better if it was a cold night. Well seasoned. No salt & pepper on the tables and the food didnt need anything added. We will return, and soon. The bill came to €67.

Chilli Banana
112 Upper Drumcondra Road, North Dublin, Drumcondra, Dublin

Decided to give Chilli Banana a 2nd go having not been too impressed a few years ago. To celebrate a birthday our table was for 5 and having ordered, the waitress put a small basket of crackers on our table. Even the tables with 2 people got the same amount of crackers so I asked for another basket. I was told if we wanted more we would have to pay for them. I informed her that there were 5 people at our table and under duress she gave us another basket. Personally I would say that little touches mean a lot but having ordered a lot of food and paying a heafty bill, charging customers for extra crackers is a bit mean. Not in a hurry back, no backround music and atmosphere not great. There are better places to eat with good offers and better service.

Good value. the staff were very polite and helpful. We hadn't been here for almost 10 years and we were delighted to find that the standards have not dropped. We will return.

Forde's Restaurant ( Crescent Quay)
Crescent Quay, Wexford, Wexford Town, Wexford

Have visited this restaurant a few times and was very disappointed with the last visit on Mothers Day. Having arrived with a large group for dinner we had to wait outside on the landing for our table, even though the place was quite empty. Food was ok but the service was not very good. Our food was on the table before the cutlery. A long delay when waiting for our coffees. Overcharged on Half portions for children. What can I say. Staff seemed to be very busy clearing empty tables in an empty restaurant instead of looking after the few customers at their tables. Will not be in a hurry back.

Absolutely delighted to see one of our favourite restaurants reopened. The food in this place is the finest and is really consistent. Pastas are fresh and delightful. My wife had raviolli with spinach and ricotta while I had the risotto with italian sausage and saffron. Really excellent. There were plates of salads passing by all of which looked great and one table had four plates of squid rings starters. The place was really busy and I would highly recommend a visit to anyone. Treat yourself.

My wife & I visited for lunch and we enjoyed our visit. My wife had a cajun chicken sandwich and cabbage & bacon soup which also came with a rustic bread. I had fishermans pie which was delicious topped with a creamy mash. It was about 3pm on a saturday afternoon so the lunch rush was finished and the restaurant was lacking a little in atmosphere. We will return on an evening to see if there is much of a difference. Food was excellent and with a half bottle of wine came to €35.

Emerald Gardens (Wexford)

My wife, daughter and I visited on a Sunday early evening. We were the only customers but more tables filled while we were there. The early bird menu caught our eye and was very good value. We had two early birds between the three of us and there was plenty of food. We had chicken wing and duck roll starters. These were cooked really well and were nicely spiced. The 2 mains were sizzling Szechuan chicken with fried rice and stir fried beef with noodles. Both were good but I would have preferred more spice in the beef. The beef was well flavoured with spring onion and ginger. Two desserts of Hot Fudge cake with ice cream and a beautiful light strawberry pavlova. The latter served with plenty of fresh strawberries. Coffees to finish and these were excellent. The price of food with sparkling water a beer and an orange was €57. The food was not rushed out to us and was piping hot when it arrived. Service was fine and our waitress was very pleasant. We will return.

West Restaurant @ The Twelve Hotel
The Twelve, Bearna Village, Galway City, Galway

Like the previous review we had the seafood platter. To say we were disappointed would be a huge understatement. Smoked salmon which was overpowered by goats cheese. The seafood should be the greatest thing on the menu for this area and we regretted not having a steak. There is something missing from the atmosphere of this restaurant. We were staying in the hotel and decided to dine in the bar on the second night rather than eating here again. I would not recommend this restaurant as there are far better ways of spending your hard earned cash these days. Try the bar for really excellent food atmosphere and good service.

Our party of four called in on Sunday hoping to get a table. We had to book for an hour later so we went for a walk. When we arrived back the place was still full but our table was just ready. All throughout the meal the place was full. (a good sign) Starters are tapas size or full size. We had two tapas sized, mussells and prawns. Huge bowl of mussels. Two main courses of fish & chips, the batter was really light, one bowl of fish stew (excellent) and one chicken gougons (chicken breast). One dessert and two coffees. One bottle of wine and water. Total €105. I will definitely return and would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant. Book before you go as it is busy.

All agreed these were excellent. 2 had sizzling beef , 1 had green curry and I had Pad Thai Noodles. The Pad Thai was excellent. Not too dry and great flavours. The sizzling beef was fab as was the curry. Desserts were fine if a little unexceptional. Our bill came to just over €70. Great value. Service was really good. Music was authentic oriental ratheer than pop. I really like this restaurant as it always delivers.
