Good all round option. Not gourmet, but then it doesn't claim to be. Friendly staff.KC Peaches Cafe Dame St restaurant

May be OK for a self service cafe but they should stick to that and not try to be a restaurant. We used the €40 Menupages voucher on Saturday night and it was a complete disaster. On arrival we were handed a menu on a clipboard and told that we had to choose from the options. Fair enough. It seemed reasonable. We were then sent upstairs on our own and told that our food and drinks would follow. After 10 minutes of sitting there I went to remind them that we still hadn't got our drinks. They simply forgot. Not that it was in any way busy at 5:45pm. When the wine eventually arrived the waiter apologised and said that the desert would be on the house. Mistakes happen and they tried to make amends, which we appreciated. Not being having a sweet tooth we opted for a free glass of wine instead. The meat and cheese platter arrived shortly after but with no bread or crackers which you would expect. The pork platter was OK, but dry after been under the grill to warm it up. Although they should have done the same for the root veg. It was cold and was sent back to be heated, but it never returned. They should stick to their buffet and not try to be restaurant. Never again will I get a menupages voucher that you can't use on the normal menu.
The Quays Bar and Restaurant
17 Westbourne Place Cobh, Cobh, Cork
OK place. Could be so much more given the location. Outside is nice but the bar is a wasted opportunity to do something special.

Good all round option. Not gourmet, but then it doesn't claim to be. Friendly staff.

Elbow Lane Brew and Smokehouse
4 Oliver Plunkett Street, Cork City, Cork
Tasty food but unbelievably small portions. We had full rack of ribs and a t-bone steak. The single rack of ribs were very small and dry, although the sauce was delicious. The steak was well cooked but again very thin for €23. Overall poor value. I think I'll take my hard earned cash elsewhere in future. Go next door to Market Lane. (I think it's the same owners which is surprising). Great staff though.
