Dooleys of Edmondstown
Edmondstown, Ardee, Louth

We\'ve been coming here for years and I\'m very sorry to say that for the past few visits we\'ve been left disappointed, today again we didn\'t even finish what we got the vegetables all tasted the same there was no flavour to the meat, and without picking anyone in particular my mum is a very fussy eater but at 81 she\'s entitled to she asked for small bits of veg they put on spoons and the plate was piled high she asked for some to be removed and they just ignored her, something has changed here of late and it\'s not for the better unfortunately

Went here for lunch today with my mum, she\'s on crutch so I knew it would be easy for her to access. The place was quite busy as it was just after lunch, we were attended to promptly very pleasant guy front of house lunch was beautiful, fresh hot and filling highly recommend it to anyone only only minus would be no name badges on staff so I could compliment both our servers 5*****

The Martry Restaurant and Bar
Kells Road, Navan, Kells, Meath

terrible first visit was so eager to try after it changed ownership and a write up in our local newspaper, very expensive for what we got its all al la carte, place is very unorganized no directions on doors as to where to go,toilets unfinished with exposed drain pipes just does not look good, dreadfully understaffed, just not a pleasant dining experience, won't be rushing back......

Golden Phoenix Restaurant
Main Street, Dunshaughlin, Meath

stopped off coming from Blanchardstown Hospital they do a special dinner 2 courses 16.50 went in with my son, its a bit scattered take-away and Restaurant too close together not fine dining by any means but as a casual stop off as it was for us it sufficed, we weren't either hungry or dissapointed when leaving............

China Garden (Meath)
Brews Hill, Navan, Meath

to say I was disapointed with our visit last night is an understatement we had friends staing for the bank holiday and as we are always raving about the Chinese here we said we'd take them to it, we waited 35 minutes from we sat down till our order was taken by a girl who didn't know the menu it had to be explained, my friend got her meal and it was wrong and had to be changed and by time she got hers we were finished ours, we weren't asked if we wanted dessert and no drink on the house overall a waste of 180euros, wont be back for a long while......very very disapointing....

Dooleys of Edmondstown
Edmondstown, Ardee, Louth

we went here yesterday with my dad who has been left in a wheelchair following a major stroke,it was our first family meal out since his stroke and Dooleys was where Dad wanted to go as its his favourite place,I cannot speak highly enough of the whole experience, from the staff to the food to the way they accomodated us with the wheelchair etc, the made the day so enjoyable and hassle free, it was a total pleasure. The whole management and staff should be very proud of themselves, apart from the service the food was just divine, piping hot, beautiful fresh food, and we all had different meals all plates were completely cleared and thoroughly enjoyed.....Thanks very much to all....

Round O Bar
Flower Hill, Navan, Navan, Meath

took mum here for tea this evening, oh my god it never dissapoints, hubby, mum and myself cleared all 3 plates, mum is a VERY fussy eater and they accomadated her totally and her meal was exactly as she wanted it, Hubby takes his steak from the factory practically still pulsating and thats how it was, my Carbonarra Tagliatelle never changes its my "Round O" dish I know every time I will not be dissapointed, well worth a visit, lovely atmosphere, great staff and just love that its my local!!!!

The Central

went here last night with my two friends on our monthly girls night out, they had never been and it was fantastic!!!! I've never tasted anything like the calamri for starters, my friends had the chicken wings and the smokies, they were fantastic, the atmosphere is lovely, very relaxed and the staff are so attentive without being overly intrusive, I got the cod and chips the only one negative is there is way too many chips a few thick cut chips would be way nicer as I left quite a lot behind only because there were too many, my friend got the pork belly and it was melt in the mouth, a place I love to go to and definitely recommend to anyone visiting Navan.....

Monasterboice Inn (Donegans)
Drogheda, Co Louth, Drogheda, Louth

this is our tradition every year after the graves for lunch for years and have to say this year we were slightly dissapointed! soup was very lumpy not there usual consistancy, the main course was lovely but the choice of veg wasn't great, still it was nice but even the fresh fruit pavlova was basically apple salad as there was hardly any other fruit, also when you have a large party in our case 18 they can't really cater for splitting the bill, and it left us looking really bad trying to split the bill at the end of the meal...not a critisism just maybe something they could change....all in all it was lovely and we'll be back but for the cost some just thought it lacked its usual high standard...

Highly recommended to all!

we were going to a show in the Olympia and liked the look of here, we were not dissapointed, it was to die for! service was great, girls were so nice. meal was well worth the 44E we left a generous tip as the girls were so pleasant despite how busy it was! We'll defo be back..... :)

Monasterboice Inn (Donegans)
Drogheda, Co Louth, Drogheda, Louth

we go here every year after the graves, and to be honest it is like De-Ja-Vu the menu has not changed in probably 20years, The soup was lovely, the soda scones were ok but sweet scones with soup??? maybe the sugar was added by mistake, I got the Turkey & Ham, and could not tell the difference between the two. The staff are to me over worked, they are so under pressure, we had booked our table and were in the old resturant with no air conditioning and it was so warm we didn't wait for dessert as there were elderly ladies in our group who were very warm, its ok but I find it boring! If the menu was updated it would be fine, maybe a curry dish in there, otherwise the place is spotless, staff are lovely toilets immaculate, and good value just maybe a few changes here & there...

O Flaherty's Irish Pub
Railway Street, Navan, Navan, Meath

Took my Dad here yesterday for Fathers Day,and it was really to me more than Pub Grub! I wanted soup and then to come back up for our mains, this was no problem,as it was so busy I didn't want to queue again so the girl went got our food and it was beautiful, The soup was delish!! Carrott & Corianderwith two chunky slices of homemade bread, I had Roast Turkey for Mains and Dad had boiled bacon, fantastic value @ E31 only negative I would have is the staff have no Name badges it would be nice to know who served you and who to mention in the review but this is only a minor thing....Highly recommended and will defo be back asap....

Mix Asian Fusion Restaurant
Unit 7, First Floor, Corballis Shopping Centre, Ratoath, Meath

was here last nite for a birthday meal, having been diagnosed recently as a coeliac dining out has become too much of a hassle, but not here, the mix asian fusion resturant is the most coeliac friendly place you could visit, the staff member who took the order made no big issue of my eating requirements, I really enjoyed my meal without having to feel I was missing out, I live quite a distance from the resturant but we are already making plans to return at Xmas for our Family Xmas meal out. Def a place I would highly recommend to all.

Coolquay Lodge (Dublin)
The Ward (Just off the N2), North Dublin, The Ward, Dublin

Called in here on the way back from a hospital appointment with my Dad last thursday, had not been in it in years but my Dads likes it,we ordered our food and two drinks as I ordered off a lunch menu I expected to pay Lunch Prices, Our food was literally out before we had two sips of our drink,I was very sceptical and a bit wary as it was prawns and Dad had chicken as to how it was done so quickly, but it was very nice and they were cooked to perfection,As Dad wasn't driving he had another drink and had dessert, which he enjoyed,it has a nice country atmosphere to it but was very quiet for a lunch time, bill came to €36.40 which was ok but I thought for what I got which was 6 prawns and salad it was quite steep @ €9.95! Would not stop me going back again though!

China Garden (Meath)
Brews Hill, Navan, Meath

we went here on saturday night to celebrate our wedding anniversary, and it as always did not dissapoint.........the waitress was quick to notify us that one chef was on holidays so there could be a wait, but who would not wait for this amazing food, I am thee most fussiest eater and I have never been in a resturant who is so accomodating to your needs, nothing is a problem, ommiting veg, adding veg its not a problem, we ended up staying 2 1/2 hours and it was so relaxing, Michelle and her staff are the heart and sole of this town and I hope they continue to be for many many years to come...

The Russell Restaurant
15 Ludlow Street Navan, Navan, Meath

We were here on Wednesday night,my first time here, will be my last to be honest,I felt very uncomfortable,we placed our order and two of our group ordered house red & white 3 times we were asked by the same person if we wanted a bottle! We felt front of house was unfriendly, and looked at us as if we weren't "her type"of customer, and the 4 of us thought the same...Meal was nice but very small portions its a real "ladies who lunch" resturant...which must be why there was only one man in it on wednesday night, all the rest were ladies. The seating is most uncomfortable we were sitting in what I can only describe as a booth! This resturant needs a reality check as its no longer the era of the celtic tiger, people now want value for money which we did not get here on Wednesday Night!

Ming Court Chinese Restaurant
Unit 453 Blanchardstown Shopping Centre, West Dublin, Blanchardstown, Dublin

Went back here last night and was very dissapointed once again, apart from the fact that the staff were and still are very unwelcoming,we had quite literally only ordered our food when our starters came out! I made the comment to the waitress as to why is was so quick bit it fell on deaf ears,..They had only cleared our table when our mains came out, which we didn't finish....I felt rushed throughout the meal,I felt very uneasy, and it was just not a pleasant dining experience,I had reason to visit the bathroom, which was appaling I was shocked to be honest and they had an open bin in the cubicle and the contents left a lot to be desired, over all after 4 visits over the past year each of which were worse than the previous one I will not be visiting again,Its a shame really as it has such potential, both in the resturant and the take-away being in the midst of thriving community...!
