This is one of my favourite restaurants in Dublin. Hidden away down a side street in Rathmines, you wouldn't know it was there unless you were looking for it. But at the same time, it's always buzzing and packed. Going here on the weekend, I'd recommend booking in advance. Service is always great and the open kitchen is a nice touch as you get to see the food prepared. The food is delish as well as very reasonable, they've plenty of nice dishes that I've tried over the past two years of going there but my favourite dishes are the 'Arayess' and the 'Shish took' (excuse my spelling!) It's bring your own wine and no corkage which is also really good. I'd highly recommend this place.

Been here twice, both times left waiting one hour for a table. Food is nothing special, although there is a wide range of dishes to choose from. Staff are nice and efficent. The restaurant is better suited to families with young children, so if you're looking for somewhere quiet and relaxing, try elsewhere.

WILDE
The Westbury, Grafton Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

It's been a while since I've logged on to leave a review, but I felt I had to leave one about 'Wilde' at the Westbury. I've been here twice before and found it to be fantastic, but on my last visit (which has prompted me to leave this review) I was told by the waiting staff that they have changed chef and it has gone downhill with regards to the food. The staff as always are friendly, very courteous and what you'd expect when you're paying that type of money for a meal. Greeted with a smile and very helpful, they pay great attention to you and help with everything. Starting off the evening when picking the wine, the one I wanted was not available so the waiter brought out three different wines for me to taste. Atmosphere is ok, it was very quiet for a Friday evening but overall, a good start to the evening I thought, but unfortunately, the food really let it down. I ordered the salmon starter which was nothing to write home about and the steak for the main course. Which was what prompted me to leave this review. I've never sent food back in a restaurant but this was inedible, I'm not sure what the chef was doing but it tasted like he seasoned it with a full container of salt. The waiter insisted he'd send it back and have a new one in less than 5 minutes as I ordered mine rare. I waited 15 minutes before my steak came out, by then, the sides we had ordered were cold and my partner was long finished at this stage. I was hoping that this steak would turn it around but this steak came out worse, it tasted like this time, he put no salt on it. If a chef can't season a steak properly, he shouldn't be working in a restaurant that are charging that kind of money. Overall, the staff are friendly, but for that type of price (€90 including wine for 2) you really expect a good meal, take my advice and go elsewhere, there are plenty of decent restaurants in the city centre and unfortunately, Wilde is no longer one of them.

The Cedar Tree
11a St Andrews Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Two words, 'absolutely AMAZING'. If you have never tried Lebanese food before, go here, first time I went and definitely not the last. Mind the stairs as you go in, there seems to be a few dodgey steps. Apart from that, the restaurant is very nicely decorated, the tables are pretty cramped (don't go here if you're claustrophobic). We got the set dinner for two as we didn't know what to have, the food was magnificent, big portions and very different to what you'd normally find in a lot of Dublin restaurants, (where you get a very westernised meal for a very high price) The waitress was very friendly and helpful. Overall it was very good value for money.

Acapulco Restaurant
7 South Great Georges Street, Dublin 2 , City Centre South, Dublin

Went here once for after a recommendation from a friend. The design of the resturant is very good, although a little more cramped and you always have that feeling that the couple beside you are listening in on your conversation. Service was one point that let this place down, after asking for a jug of water before the main course came, it only came after finishing dessert (yes, finishing dessert). Overall food was good value for money and I'd recommend this place to people looking for a nice authentic Mexican meal and who aren't that pushy about their drink coming after their dessert.
