My second visit to Fade Street. I had a very impressive experience in the restaurant a few months ago and this time met friends in the Gastro Bar. Great place for a group to meet and share tapas. Discovered there is a roof top bar and on a night like last night it was the place to be in town. Great atmosphere up there and great end to the evening. The staff in this restaurant are very good at their job. Well done to all of the team there !

Union 8
740 South Circular Rd, Kilmainham, Dublin 8, Kilmainham, Dublin

Had amazing food at this restaurant recently. The atmosphere was up beat and staff were professional and friendly. It has also added to the revitalisation of this historic area. I will definitely be returning.

Osteria Lucio
The Malting Tower, Clanwilliam Terrace, Grand Canal Dock, Dublin

I have been here twice in the last month. First visit I booked a table for lunch for a party of 6. It was excellent. Lovely venue, great service, friendly and professional and the food was wonderful. Great place for a long lunch and chat. So good I dropped in again with a friend for dinner one evening just on the chance they might have a table. Again, great dining experience. Pizza is one of the best I have ever had in Dublin, but all the other options I have chosen were amazing too. Well done all at Osteria Lucio.

Il Fornaio Restaurant (IFSC)
1B Valenta House, Custom House Square, Dublin 1, City Centre, IFSC, Dublin

I usually go to Il Fornaio in Kilbarrack so was delighted to find that the quality at IFSC is excellent too and it is closer to where I live. Really good quality food and friendly service.

The Stonecutter
Main Street, Aughrim, Wicklow

Stumbled on this place when cycling through Aughrim. A great place for lunch. Really good menu options. I choose the Aughrim Special - home cooked ham and chedder on really great brown bread with a tasty relish. Friendly service and nice place to lunch. Would highly recommend it.

Paris Bakery and Pastry
18, 19 Moore Street, City Centre North, Dublin

I have been dropping in for lunch since this place opened. It is a great addition to the area and the new shop is great. However, staff seem to change a lot and this seems to be reflected in the service. The staff are friendly but there can often long delays in getting food. I have recently waited for an hour from when I ordered food with no explanation for the delay. Otherwise, it is good, but they need to be more consistent.

Old Post Office The
Main st, Slane, Slane, Meath

Friendly service but, otherwise, very disappointing. Sandwiches were far from gourmet (as described on menu) - tasted ok but far too much greenery. Coffee was dreadful. I don't drink stong coffee but this tasted as if it was watered down. Cappucino and Americano were both like weak instant coffee although they did come from a machine.

Kennedys Food Store
5 Fairview Strand, Fairview, Dublin

I have been having breakfast in Kennedys regularly and it is excellent. Food is good and staff are friendly and very professional. Then I had the experience of dinner in the upstairs bistro. Great food and great value. An earlier review referred to cramped conditions - I didn't find it cramped although space is limited but it adds to the atmosphere. Personally, I am amazed with what they manage to produce from, what must be, a small kitchen. I would recommend the bistro and also breakfast at weekends .
