I couldn't possible rate this place any higher. I would ordinarily sit outside just for coffee but I had food inside on this visit. There is such a nice, cozy and laid-back atmosphere in this cafe. The staff are always very friendly and attentive. I had a croissant with cheese and mushroom which was delicious. Great value too!

This was my second visit to Roly Saul and it was quite disappointing. The service wasn't great. they waiters where polite enough but not very warm or pleasant. We had booked a large table for a special birthday and when the cake came out they simply put it don and walked away. The wine was quite nice and reasonably priced. The starters were all fantastic but I found my main course quite bland - spinich, mushroom and cheese canneloni, the spinich wasn't fresh and it was clearly cooked well in advance. My mother had the fish and potato pie which she also said was quite bland. It wasn't so much a pie but a ceramic dish with a pastry top. the desserts were a mixture of good and bad. Overall it was not value for money. Although its not as overpriced as some of its rivals it certainly did not live up to the same standard...I won't hurry back!

Cafe Bar H
Grand Canal Plaza, Dublin 2, Grand Canal Dock, Dublin

After the theatre we tried cafebar H because it seemed to have a nice atmosphere and we were in the mood for tapas. When we arrived we were not greeted or helped by any of the waiters. We eventually asked f it was ok to sit at a free table. There was a really great band playing which largely contributed to the atmsphere but the restaurant/bar itself was freezing. We ordered some cava and a cheeseboard. This was the measliest cheeseboard I've ever seen. I know it is priced low enough at 8 or 9 euros but after spending 30 euro on cava we expected greater portions especially considering that of the small portions we got, most of it consisted of skin or hard inedible cheese. This was extremely disappointing. This place has the potential to be great but it fails on so many aspects. I don't think we'll be returning!

Carluccio's Caffe
52 Dawson Street, Dublin 2 , City Centre South, Dublin

I took my mother here for a pre-theatre meal. It was our fiirst visit to Caluccio's and we both thoroughly enjoyed it. The atmosphere was warm and laid back. The service was excellent, we had a very chatty and helpful waiter. We had bellinis to start which were delicious and quite well priced. Then the vegetarian antipasti which was mouth-wateringly good! My main was nice but I don't think I would order it again. I had the sea bass which was a little over-cooked. It went well with the potatoes but it was also served with cherry tomatoes and basil mix which over complicated the flavours so it was hard to really taste the fish. We had bread and butter pudding for dessert and coffees, both were very tasty. I would happily recommend this restauarant especially in the evening/night at the weekend.

T.P. Smiths Bar & Restaurant
9-10 Jervis Street, City Centre North, Dublin

This is some of the worst food I've ever had! We went here to catch the end of the match and get a quick bite to eat. I had the bree parcels and my boyfriend had the soup which was leek and potato. The bree was ok but the soup tasted like instant powder soup that you add water too and it was very bland. My boyfriend had the carvery special which he said was ok but didn't eat very much of. I tried his mash potatoes and thought they were disgusting. I had a goats cheese salad and it was probably the worst saad I've had in my life! It consisted of chopped up iceberg, cucumber, tomato, raw onion and two slabs of goats chese cooked in garlic and the whole thing was smoothered in oil. I could hardly eat it, it was not a salad but something that was throw together with everything they use for garnish and goats cheese and lashings of oil thrown in on top. The Barman had approached us immediately and was attentive enough but the food was really awful.

The Bull & Castle and F.X. Buckley Steakhouse
5-7 Lord Edward Street, Christchurch, Dublin 8, City Centre South, Dublin

First of all the beer menu in this place is enormous! It's unlike anything I've seen in Dublin, it has an amazing selection. This was my fist time trying the food. I had fish and chips and my boyfriend had a steak. Both our meals were fantastic. The steak was well worth the money and the batter on my fish was one of the tastiest I've had. Afterwards I had a deep fried mars bar and my boyfriend had chocolate cake. Both were really tasty but quite rich. The service was excellent. Our waitress was very attentive. Will definately be back!

Cortina’s Mexican Restaurant
The Pembroke District, Dundrum Town Centre, South Dublin, Dundrum, Dublin

I had been to Cortina's once previously around the time they had opened and been disappointed but this was certainly a much better experience. The staff were extremely accommodating and attentive. We were insure as to what dips to try as a starter so we had a selection followed by vegetarian quesadillas and chicken tacos which were all delicious. There seemed to be a variety of deals on drinks so we had the 2 for 1 beer deal. Overall it was great food and friendly service, excellent value for money.

Nandos (Dundrum)
Sandyford Road, Dundrum Town Centre, South Dublin, Dundrum, Dublin

The food is always fantastic in Nandos. On this day I had a veggie wrap with creamy mash and ate every scrap. I also had a nata for dessert which was delicious! The only negative thing I have to say about this visit was that the restaurant was quite cold at the time.

Dada Restaurant
45 South William Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

This was my second visit to Dada. There was a large group of us there on this occasion. The staff managed very well with the number. We had the bread and dips to start and I had the potato and pumpkin tagine. The food here is fantastic. Everyone else had tagines and there was not a scrap of food left by anyone. I would recommend Dada to anyone. We had a sauvignon blanc which was also very nice and the staff were very friendly and helpful. the surroundings are cosy, very good atmosphere. A++++
