Went for lunch here today and I am already planning to go back for dinner as soon as possible. The food was so tasty. I had the lunch Bento Box, it contained sushi, haddock tempura, lamb curry, rice and miso soup, It was all very tasty and well cooked. The tempura in particular was outstanding, light and crispy batter and moist perfectly cooked fish. My friends both enjoyed their dishes too, one had teriyaki chicken and the other a salad. The service was efficient, friendly and there was a good buzz about the place. There is so much more on the menu I would want to try!

Cafe Topolis
37 Parliament Street, Temple Bar, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

This is a lvoely spot for a good value lunch. I had a lovely chicken pasta and asked for my starter salad to be brought with it. It was all very tasy, lovely balance of tomato and cream in the sauce and a strong garlic flavour which I love. My friend had a pizza which she really enjoyed. A bargain at 8.95 for two courses. The staff are really friendly, especially the waitor who was very welcoming and gentle in his manner.

It is no surprise they are relying on special deals vouchers in order to keep their business ticking over. The food was decent but the staff need to learn to deal with customer service issues.

Whytes of Stamullen

Ate here for my mam's 70th birthday and overall it was very disappoitning. The starters were all lovely and very tasty, which has prevented the food getting a 0! chicken wings and brushetta were all enjoyed. however the main courses were terrible. I had a seafood selection. the prawns in filo pastry and prawns in batter were tiny, it was like one prawn had been sliced into four or five long strips and shared out for the entire dish, you would get better in Iceland at €1 for 12!. the battered fish was rubbery and oily, clearly the oil was not hot enough. The carabonara was lacking seasoning and bizarrely served on a tortilla. the burger was burnt and dry. The sea bass was served in a small bowl on a load of potatoes which weren't even peeled and loads of soy cause thrown over it. You couldn't even get at the potatoes to peel them. It was all very strange and disappointing. looks very much like buying in cheap food to make a profit. Very poor. My mam however enjoyed her steak but I get the feeling she was trying to save the disaster of a meal. They claim to serve 'good food all day' however the same can't be said for the evening time.

Maximilians Bistro
Superquinn Shopping Centre, Dublin 15, Blanchardstown, Dublin

We bought the menupages voucher and would defo come back and pay full price. The place was bustling on a Weds night, Staff very friendly and attentive and there was a lovely atmosphere.I had a goats cheese crostini to start, very generous portion and very tasty, he had chicken wings, also very tasty. For main i had sea food spagetti, which was crammed full of mixed seafood, in a lovely tangy tomato sauce and generous helping of pasta. He had duck breast served on a bed of mash and a lovely mixed fruit sauce on top. The desserts were divine, a baileys cheesecake for me and a mix of desserts for him, You can't fault it, I'm looking forward to going back.

Probably the toughest steak I have ever had in a restaurant!! Using the menu pages deal we booked for a monday evening. To cut to the chase my husband couldn't even cut into his steak, I tried it as well and I had no success. You could tell by looking at the steak it was rough. I'm surprised a chef served it. We sent it back, the replacement steak was equally as tough and therefore my husband ended up having no main. My steak I managed about half, but it involved so much chewing just to make it digestable I ran out of energy and gave up. When the bill came we needed to pay 15euro for drinks on top of the 40 we had already paid for the voucher. I suggested the drinks should be complimentry considering we had already paid for meals we couldn't eat. I was told the drinks would have to be paid for, So no gesture from the restuarant to satisfy customers who receive awful food. Will never go back,

Brownes Steakhouse
The Plaza, Blanchardstown Village, Dublin 15, Blanchardstown, Dublin

Had a great night out here with my friends. We all went for the 8oz fillet steak which was cooked perfectly, and possibly the tastiest steak i've had out ever. We got sides of hand cut chips, potatoes wedges and the most wonderfuly crispy onion rings. All was very tasty, service was excellent, wine well priced and food worth every penny. planning to return this week.

Mexico to Rome
23 East Essex Street, Dublin 2, City Centre, Temple Bar, Dublin

Came here for lunch and was very disappointed. The lunch deal is very good value, 2 course & glass of wine for €8.50. The Bruschetta starter was tasty enough, it then took over 30 mins to get main course. My burger was a cheap one that I would say was precooked and then heated up, it was pink near to the surface but then not in the middle. Not the sign of a good quality burger. My friend's pasta was tasteless. We had to throw it into us to make it back to work in time. Service was very good however.

Metro Cafe

I love this place for lunch. Had the leek and potato soup, which was on the special board today. It is a meal in itself and good value. Very tasty. Also a fan of the cheese and bacon toasty. Service is fast and efficient, relaxed atmosphere and food always good. A winner!

TGI Friday (St Stephens Green )
St Stephens Green, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

went here for Christmas lunch as part of a party of ten. Mixed results. The service was fantastic, fast and friendly. The value was good €15 for two courses and good portions. However my main of burger and chips were cold, 3 others at the table had a similar complaint. Considering the restaurant had about 20 people at most in, its poor they couldn't get all meals out hot.

The Hairy Lemon Traditional Pub & Restaurant
Stephen Street Lower, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

The staff are rude, the food is disgusting and you don't get what you order from the menu. I came here for lunch with a friend recently. She ordered vegetable soup which was inedible as it tasted strongly of and only of curry powder and pepper. I ordered chicken on ciabatta which came on a baguette, which was undercooked and the chips cold. The waiter argued with us that the soup was supposed to be that spicy and that I was in fact eating a ciabatta which I obviously wasn't. No apology offered, extremely rude to deal with, would never return.

The Purty Kitchen (Dun Laoghaire)
3-5 Old Dun Laoghaire Road, Co. Dublin, Dun Laoghaire, Dublin

Despite the bad comments I read about the service, I decided to try the food and was disappointed with both. Despite there only being 5 customers and 3 waitresses we waited 10 minutes seated at our table for a menu, while the waiting staff chatted at the bar. My friend eventually asked for the menu. Service was slow at all stages. The food was average. I had fish and chips which was ok. My friend had a special of monkfish and tuna which was laced with salt and lemon and over cooked. The portion was very small as well. Would not hurry back here.

Dandelion
St. Stephen's Green, St Stephens Green, Dublin

Been here for lunch a couple of times, not a lot of variety on the menu. I had a burger on my second visit, slightly over cooked and dry. Quite expensive for a lunch time menu in comparsion to other restuarants in the area that offer lunches for under a tenner. Staff not always friendly but are efficent. Nice surroundings.
