I visited this restaurant on the Friday of the May Bank Holiday with my boyfriend. If you have ever past by the restaurant it may have struck you as a very modern looking place, this mood continues inside, which to be honest I didn’t like for an Asian restaurant. However, the staff were extremely chirpy and accommodating so I soon started to settle in. The menu was extensive and a lot more exotic than many Asian restaurants I have been to in the area. The staff where more than happy to explain the dishes to us. The wine list was also good and well priced. Tasting the wine first was also not a problem. I had the prawn dumplings for starters, which came in an authentic looking steamer -The look I’m afraid impressed me more than the taste. Afterwards, my main dish of Prawns in Malay King Sauce was one of the best Asian dish I have ever had in Ireland as the flavours of lime, garlic and fresh herbs made the dish truly delicious. The cost for 2 starters and 2 mains( with quart wine) came in at under 60 plus tip. Would visit again for the good food and friendly staff.

Spice Indian Restaurant
Monck Street, Wexford Town, Wexford

We visited this restaurant as a couple on a busy saturday night. To be honest, we just went on a whim, as another place we intended to go was booked up. Happily though, we were both v. impressed with the meal we had in Spice. The atmosphere was cosy, but a bit on the hectic side. The waiters could afford to walk around a little slower on the wooden floors. We went for a set meal which was priced fairly, and the hostess let us choose two mains that were not as standard- so that was a nice touch. The starters of chicken tikka and samosas tasted extremely fresh, and came with a gorgeous mango chutney. After a wait a little longer than we would of liked, our mains arrived. Thankfully, they were gorgeous. My partner really rated his lamb biryani as the best he ever had. I too enjoyed my curry dish , and the garlic naan bread was the best we've ever had too! Overall, the food was truely excellent, the flavours were fresh, and the lamb was melt in the mouth. This restaurant is an extremely impressive Indian, and would satisfy regulars of indian food, along with more conventional tastes. I'd expect this restaurant to grow from strength to strength, if they hang on to their chef!
