Wagamama - Stephen's Green restaurant
St Stephen's Green Centre, South King St, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin, Area Code: Dublin 2
Reviewed 22nd April 2009 ( visited 07th April 2009 )Went there for a lunch with friends. The food was good and the service was great! The waiter taking care of our table was lovely! We couldn't stop laughing at his jokes. I wouldn't advice it for a romantic meal, it's atmosphere is more for a meal with friends.

BamBoo Tapas and Grill
38 - 40 Parliament Street, City Centre South, Co Dublin, City Centre South, Dublin
Visited this restaurant when it was still called Bamboo Sushi, not long after opening I believe. Himself and I had a menupages voucher. The restaurant was promoting themselves as the new Sushi place in town. As we both love Sushi and Japanese cuisine we were excited about trying out a new place. At 6.30pm this place was surprisingly quite busy. We were seated at a nice table and the orders were taken quickly. The decor of the place was quite similar to Salamanca which was there before (later I heard from the table beside us that it hasn't changed at all). It had nothing Japanese about it, no Asian atmosphere or theme. After ordering our food (which was japanese tapas) we were waiting for our food for 40minutes. We asked for all of it to be served at the same time (himself ordered sushi and some tapas). However, himself got his food first and when he was half way through his I got mine. Thought this was highly unprofessional. It wasn't like food we ordered took that much time to cook either. Sushi was ok, could have done better job at home myself to be honest. Rest of the food reminded me more of european cooking then japanese and was quite tasteless. We were very disappointed. Also the staff wasn't attentive enough. We were constantly confused who our waiter was and who we should wave down. We asked for a dessert menu but never received any. From that point we were ignored. I finally managed to get a hold of someone to ask for a bill, but that was after an other 20minutes. The manager brought down the bill but she didn't have time to talk to us, or even ask how the meal was. At this stage we decided just to hand in the voucher to her and leave. We will definitely not go back there again. As we were leaving we heard the table beside us saying that the only thing that changed in the restaurant was the menu, decor, staff etc. was exactly the same. Maybe this explains why what used to be a Spanish tapas bar isn't working as a Japanese Tapas bar?
12/13 South Great Georges Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin
Decided to drop in for a quick lunch with himself and a friend. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. We are huge fans of Yamamori Sushi and are glad to say Yamamori Oriental Cafe is just as good. Their lunch menu is great value, and for 15 quid you can out of there not feeling hungry for the rest of the day. Especially if the food is accompanied by nice Hitachino Japanese Classic Ale (himself is a big fan) or Plum wine (yum!). Really recommend it!
La Cuvee @ Eno Wine Bar
1 Burton Hall, Mayor Square, IFSC, City Centre North, Dublin
We found out about this place from city deal. The wine tasting was brilliant. We were very impressed with variety etc. The food was nothing special though. Portions where also too small. You'd really have to get 3courses to fill you up and the menu is not cheap. However, over all it was a pleasant enough experience. Staff was lovely.
38 - 40 Parliament Street, City Centre South, Dublin
The food in here is great but a bit too pricey. I don't know too much about Tapas, but it seemed like all tapas where main course size and main course price which too me wasn't much like Tapas. Went there with two of my friends for a girly night, hoping to order a lot of little dishes so we could all share. I think in this case less would be more. If the tapas were smaller and cheaper we would have ordered way more.
Ho Wun Chinese Takeaway & Restaurant
2 Main Street, Dunboyne, Meath
Amazing food. Great "Tasting Menu" were you get to try out about 5 best dishes of the house, starters and main. Amazing wine selection. The staff is very friendly. I went there with himself for our anniversary as we were staying in the Dunboyne Castle Hotel & Spa near by. We couldn't have chosen any better. The atmosphere was perfect. The staff knew exactly when to come over and chat and when to leave us alone and have some romantic time. We were approached by the owner who made sure everything was going perfect. She's a lovely, humorous woman. If you are ever in the locality you have to visit this place.
New Star Chinese Restaurant
120 Capel Street, City Centre North, Dublin
Cheap and tasty set menu. Great place to go to when you're out shopping and would love some quick chinese.
Captain America's Cookhouse And Bar
44 Grafton Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin
A huge let down. Burgers poor quality, over cooked, not great at all. Had a half price student voucher but too be honest they weren't even worth half price. I will definitely not be back.
Toscana City Centre
3 Cork Hill, Dame Street (opposite Dublin Castle), Dublin City Centre, Dublin 2, Temple Bar, Dublin
Think this might become our favourite Italian restaurant. We went to Toscana for a Valentines dinner on sat. Although the place was packed, the atmosphere was great. The music was on loud enough for us not to hear other people's (who were sitting very close to us) conversations, but quiet enough for us to hear each other. The staff was very attentive and nice. We started of with white wine which we got with menupoints. I was afraid that since it was "managers" choice it could be the cheapest, poorest white wine in the house. I'm happy to say I was wrong, the wine was Italian indeed and was lovely. We got the set menu for 29.95 each and it was lovely - great food, great value. Wouldn't have my valentines meal any better. It's a great place for romantic meals as well as girls nights out I'd say. From what I noticed all waiters were Italian, something that will be appreciated by the ladies (the amazing Italian accent i mean haha). We will definitely come back.
Q Park, Marlborough Street, City Centre North, Dublin
Decided to tray out this restaurant based on the reviews and because I'm a fan of Western European food. I must say it was a huge let down. We had the Borsch soup and the spinach, prawn and red caviar for starters which were pretty good. However, for main I ordered Dumplings with cream potato and bacon filling and got a potato pancake with bacon instead. When I asked about it I was assured that that's what Traditional Ukrainian homemade dumplings look like. I know perfectly they do not and what I got was in fact a traditional western European potato pancake. I did not like the fact that the waiter would not admit to his mistake. The food was pretty ordinary therefore I do not understand the high prices. I will not be going back there again.
The Living Room- Dublin
Cathal Brugha Street, City Centre North, Dublin
Pretty good place for a couple of pints and an amazing pizza. The starter platter is very good too. Huge portion for a good value. The atmosphere in Living Room is great. I go there every week with my mates as a nice way of ending a busy week.
17 Dame Street, City Centre South, Dublin
A very nice and peaceful restaurant. Their early bird menu is a great value and has a good choice of food. The a la cart menu is pretty good but a bit on the prices side. The staff there is very friendly and the atmosphere is great. Good for a dinner with friends. Would not recommend for a date however.
The Porterhouse (Parliament Street)
Parliament Street le Bar, Temple Bar, Dublin
Pretty good Bar food i must say. Their burgers are amazing! Their "pint of prawns" is also very good. Great place to go to for a pint of an amazing stout and a bite to eat in a lovely atmosphere. Staff there is friendly and very helpful.
The Ivy @ Dunboyne Castle
Dunboyne Castle Hotel and Spa, Dunboyne, Dunboyne, Meath
I have visited the Ivy Brasserie with my boyfriend during our stay in the Dunboyne Castle Hotel and must say I was quite disappointed. The food was decent and that's all I can say about it. For the starter we had mushroom and smoked salmon, both very bland in taste. For main we had pan fried salmon and steak, once again nothing special. My Salmon was quite dry and as a fish lover I was very disappointed. The only thing that I found quite good was ice-cream. Then again you can't really go wrong with ice-cream. On the positive side their wine list is quite good. We were hoping for something very special since it was our anniversary and I'm sorry to say it was a big let down. On the positive side their wine list was quite good.
Yamamori Sushi, Tengu
38-39 Lower Ormond Quay, Dublin 1, City Centre North, Dublin
One of my favourite restaurants in Dublin. No matter what i order in there it's always amazing. The set menu is great value.
The Exchange Restaurant and Cocktail Bar
The Westin Dublin, At College Green, Westmoreland Street, City Centre South, Dublin
Went there last night with my boyfriend. We heard their Early Bird menu was amazing so we decided to try it out and we weren't disappointed. The food was amazing! The portions were just perfect, the presentation was beautiful and the food was out of this world. Never had better gnocchi it was melting in my mouth. My boyfriend had the scallops and they were jut as great. The Sea Trout was also amazing and the idea of using orange instead of lemon was genius! Oh and the dessert - banana and nougat spring rolls, such an unusual but great idea. I also recommend their cocktails, bit on the expensive side but they are quite original and I'd say will be hard to find anywhere else. We are looking forward to going back already.
The Kingfisher Restaurant, Guesthouse & Apartments
166 Parnell Street, City Centre North, Dublin
Had a typical Irish Sunday Lunch and totally loved it!
13 Dame Court, Dublin, City Centre South, Dublin
My feelings of this place are quite mixed. The food was good and the service was amazing. However, it doesn't seem like a place for an intimate dinner, perhaps a good place for nights out with a gang of friends. There were 3 of us surrounded by big group tables due to which it was so loud we couldn't hear each other speak. After an hour spend there my head was killing me. We were sitting upstairs, so perhaps the downstairs would be more quite. All wasn't bad though. I loved the idea of fivers menu, ordering small portions of different things was perfect for us.
1 Martello Terrace, South Co. Dublin, Sandycove, Dublin
Went there with my boyfriend and his mum and had an amazing time. The service and atmosphere was great. The waiter serving our table was funny and very helpful, accommodating our peculiar appetite on the night. The food was nice, though menu was bare bones - typical of a bistro. Expect the vast majority of dishes to be cream or butter based. Overall a good experience.
Gourmet Burger Kitchen (GBK Temple Bar)
Unit 1, Temple Bar Square, Dublin 2 , Temple Bar, Dublin
Top class burgers! Went there for a quick bite with my boyfriend as he was craving for a burger but was sick of cheap rubber you can't even call a burger! One of his friends told us this is the place to go and he was right. We got a table outside and the atmosphere was great! I ordered a Mexican burger with side of chips and Mark ordered Satay Burger with Homeslow which was amazing! Homeslow is served without mayo which was great, very refreshing. Both burgers were delicious. Can't wait to go back.
Wagamama - Stephen's Green

The Yellow Pepper Restaurant
36 Lower Main Street, Letterkenny, Donegal
Went there for a quick meal with my family. The service and atmosphere there is great! They have a great variety of vegeterian dishes which are very tasty. Great place to go for a meal with friends as well.
China Tower Restaurant
Port Road, Letterkenny, Donegal
Their special fried rice is amazing. Good for a quick bite to eat.
Eden Quay, City Centre North, Dublin
The atmosphere in there is great. The food in there is not a top class chinese but it's great for a lunch with friends. The price is great, especially with their special deals on now. Good place for students, cheap but still good!
Talbot Street, Dublin 1, City Centre North, Dublin
Went there for a date with my boyfriend a while back. The atmosphere was great. For starters I got a huge plate of garlic bread so we ended up sharing it. For main I ordered chicken, which was nothing out of the ordinary and my boyfriend got a steak with which he was very happy. It was cooked exactly as he liked it. For dessert we got a huge creme brule with ginger biscuits on the side, perfect dessert for a romantic date. I'm a huge creme brule lover and this one I must say was pretty good. The service was great and the value was good.Worth going to.
Zaytoon (Lower Camden Street)
44-55 Lower Camden Street, Dublin 2, Camden Street, Dublin
If you are looking for a real persian food go there! Their kebabs are amazing and the meal is gigantic! I couldn't move after it! Really worth trying out.
La Caverna Restaurant & Wine Bar
12 Fownes Street, Dublin 2, City Centre, Temple Bar, Dublin
We decided to return to La Caverna to give it a try, since we heard it was now under new managment (our last visit did not go too great). We had a MenuPages voucher with us. The food was good, however not as great as a couple of years ago. Staff was very friendly and attentive. However, if we wouldn't have the voucher and had to pay the full A la Carte prices, it would be a bit too pricy for the standard of food given. 25e for a main that was decent but nothing ground breaking is just not good enough these days. All together, it was quite an average visit.
Wicklow Street, City Centre South, Dublin
Went there for lunch when my mum came down to visit me. The food was amazing and so was the atmosphere. I'll definitly go there again.
Madina Desi Curry Co
60 Mary Street, Dublin 1, City Centre North, Dublin
The food isn't as great as it used to be but it still is one of the best Indian restaurants I've even been to. Food is tasty and cheap . A perfect place for a lunch with a friend. Wouldn't advise it for dates.
6-7 Jervis Street, Millennium Walkway, Dublin 1, City Centre, Italian Quarter, Dublin
We first time my boyfriend and I ate there we fell in love with that place. The atmosphere in there and the food was just amazing. Oh and those cocktails... A great place to go to for a date or for a night out with friends. Definately my favourite place to eat out!
