Only open a few days a week and really only used for lunch when shopping, but this place deserves some credit. Very friendly staff and very nice food. Decor is a bit dated but the place is always immaculate. Owner's taste in background music leaves a bit to be desired too, but this place is well worth a look.

Berty's Bar @ Annebrook House Hotel
Austin Friar St, Mullingar, Westmeath

Nice, modern layout with good staff. Food doesn't always hit the mark, but its not bad! Good value too.

Oscars Restaurant
21 Oliver Plunkett Street, Mullingar, Westmeath

This is a popular and BUSY restaurant but I really can't see what all the fuss is about. The food IS good and the service is efficient if slightly robotic and impersonal. I wouldn't take a date here either to be honest - the tables are on top of each other. Finally the prices are above and beyond what I would consider acceptable for this type of venue - especially in the current climate. This is Mullingar not Temple Bar.
